Maybe they'll have the Inquisitor in a first person pov at the gathering?

 

Gotta say, though, I was really hoping to have CC from the start, and then a mere moment or two to walk abt the gathering--then the bang.

 

This might also mean I will have to be very careful in the CC cuz I do not want to have to go back thru a prologue just to fix the characters face.

 

But I will...

Perhaps after the CC or the fade section it flashes back to prior to the explosion, you see some of the pre-explosion peace treaty then you see the explosion a second time and the game continues with you waking up to Cassandra?

Certainly those people existed, but they were killed in the blast and the Inquisitor has mistaken him/herself for one of them as assumed his/her identity and memories. Cole is something like that.

How are they going to show our character at the mage/templar meet-up prior to the CC?  There's a pretty big difference between a dwarf with their face obscured by armor and a Qunari with their face obscured by armor.  I'm thinking that the fall into the Fade/CC cutscene is just artistic license to get us to the character screen and we customize our character prior to the game starting & us seeing the enclave.  Maybe the snippet they actually cut was a "previously in Dragon Age"-type DAO & DA2 summary?

Hopefully we won't be forced to play masked protagonist before CC. Saints Row 3/4 did that and it was awful.

Hmm. On the CC screen when you can select your world state, that last card looks like a default mount card. So Qunari get giant rams and Humans get horses?

Well, if we have to wear masks it would at least hide the vallaslin for Dalish protagonists. Some have noted that they'd stand out with the vallaslin. Then against, nothing says "hey I'm suspicious" like wearing a mask.

The protagonist could be masquerading as an Orlesian. Even the elven servants wear masks so it won't arouse much suspicion.

Yeah...but have faith...I remmeber awhile back a Dev commenting on the hair looking bad becuase of a bug with the hair render/shaders/textures thingies so hopefullly that will be fixed.

 

I don't know. If they're showing character creation I assume it must practically be finished and be at the level of the finished game.

Rewatching some of the CC:

 

I was concerned about lack of hair options as they were going through, but the hair meter started in the middle and he only moved 8 nodules toward the beginning of the meter.  I am guessing 20 or so styles (at least for Human/Males) based on that.

The explosion after selecting "New Game" and the consequent transition to the character creator is most likely a "prelude" of sorts. It's just to introduce you as the survivor of the explosion.

It is quite likely that we will "go back in time" and experience the prologue after the CC. After all, the explosion and the resulting breach are hardly a secret.

The character creator is fine.  I have no issues.  I think the Qunari hairstyles look fine.  They shouldn't look like humans or elves.

My issue is no healing and how it will be implemented.  Cameron dying halfway through the map on NORMAL is concerning.  Also, without healing, you go and explore an area and all of the enemies are completely leveled above you, you either have to try and grind through it or just turn around and get more potions. Or just abandon the map until you're leveled above the enemies.  I just feel like there is going to be a lot wasted time and rage quitting.  It also looks like the combat is completely based around combos. Which I kind of find limiting.  So I imagine there's going to be a learning curve.  It's a little troubling.  They need to just increase the potion count, which I would imagine is an easy fix.  I have a bad feeling people aren't going to respond well to this...at least, I know I won't. Especially those who like to rush in and start slashing away.  If I have to have Varric set up traps to get through every battle...meh.   And I don't WANT to have to play on easy because they decided to make the game uber challenging.  (And for what reason, exactly?  Who was asking for really challenging combat on NORMAL anyway?)

Concerning for you maybe, seeing devs play the game and die in a non staged bit of gameplay is a great sign of challenging gameplay.

I think they're going for the "Let's flash back two hours before the explosion" route after the CC or this isn't the final CC. They can't do the masked route since no matter what qunari will stick out with the 'wrong' horns or something like that. Plus they don't wear head gear.

Hmm...I'm little disappointed that the Qunari horns and hair are tied in together, but I suppose it isn't too bad.  I wish we got to see more of the actual female hairstyles on the human/elf/dwarf though, guess I'll have to wait to explore that one on my own haha.  Also I understand why, but I still wish we got something other than our glowy hand for our icon, I'll live though.  Overall it looks pretty good,  I would like a few more options, but I say that for every CC I see, I always want more more more options. 

 

As for the  whole starting right after the explosion, I'm guessing its probably just a cinematic/artistic sort of thing or we'll have a flash back just afterwards, that'd make the most sense to me.

The only thing I'm disappointed by is the no long hairstyles for the qunari.
