Of course, it could be that my theory about the Inquisitor being a Fade spirit with a case of confused identity has legs to stand on, which would explain why we would start playing after the blast. The Inquisitor has no BEFORE the blast.
YUSSSSSS. Someone else shares this theory!
*crackpot fistbump*
Seriously though, if that's the intro, it really increases the likelihood of the Inquisitor being a Cole-like entity.
Up until this point, we've only seen spirits close tears in the Veil, either directly or by modifying the party's weapons. Mortals just have to abandon an area if the Veil rips open; it would seem that mages (even the ones that commune with spirits) have no way of fixing it.
At this point, I would not be surprised if the Inquisitor's body and backstory belong to someone who genuinely died in the blast. We know from Justice and Cole that spirits can have very vivid, personal memories of their host's experiences, whether they possess the body or just copy it. But that would mean that the person attending the peace conference wasn't
us, so it would be weird to have control over that character. The Inquisitor's existence would begin exactly when that body stands up... which, coincidentally, is when the game seems to start.
In short: crackpot theory machine go! Full steam ahead!
