...did not shed any light on why we may be fighting the Wardens in DA:I?
I guess the only clues we have are Corypheus from DA2 and the fact that the Wardens are trying to establish themselves as a political power in DAA.

Well throughout the book they did mention that the First Warden hadn't decided if he was going to side with either of the factions yet. If he does we very well might be coming to blows with them. That or the missing Wardens may have been changed in some way by the Elder One or what have you and been turned in to minions we may have to fight. Or like you said, Corypheus with his silly smile might be corrupting them from within or may be the one responsible for the Warden forts going empty (a third warden faction controlled by Corypheus, yikes
). Either way I hope not, the end of Last Flight has made me hopeful of what we may see upon visiting them
.
True, but I don't think the Wardens plan to invest heavily in the mage-templar conflict either way.
Nah, want to see it all unfold ingame myself. Would have been cross had i been spoiled. But thats just my opinion. Although...griffons. Do want. But id say that they might turn up in future DA games. Think one of the devs said no griffons in DAI ![]()
Hmmm, I think disappointment that a book does not have a reveal for an in-game plot point is a bit mean.
I enjoyed Last Flight and I think it should be judged for what it is, not for what it isn't.
I think the link is the bit about losing touch with southern branches of the Wardens. That would be the ones in Orlais which is where a lot of the game takes place. So the problem with the wardens in game is likely not going to be with the HQ in the Anderfels but they may well be the ones who ask us to investigate why they have lost contact. Revealing any more than that would probably be a bit of a spoiler but we already suspect it has something to do with Corypheus and we didn't need a book to set that one up since it had already been revealed in Legacy.
I'm more surprised how easy going the Wardens seem now about people joining or not. Also how the big secret of the joining is such common knowledge. I must admit it would have been helpful to know the First Warden's thoughts on the two (ex) Grey Wardens responsible for stirring up all the trouble in the mage/Templar war in the first place, Anders and Fiona. It's all very well claiming neutrality when members of your own order have fanned the flames. May be that is why he seems happy to give sanctuary to mages and Templars alike without actually insisting on them joining up because he feels he owes them.
Hmm The events from the book is centered between end of the Blessed Age, and Dragon 9:42. Just like If Alistair was sacrificed himself.... how did he end up in Seheron...
There is no reason for a book to specify reference from the in-game plot though, since fighting the Wardens is based on your decision in-game..
The Inquisition starts from 9:40 till ....... dunno. So The Last flight might be during The Inquistion.... or After it.
If Last flight is relevant at all to upcoming events in DAI, i expect it will more likely be dlc. Otherwise, its just a really nice story explaining the heroics of Garahel, what happened to Griffons, and the return of GRIFFONS!!!!
Honestly, the rest of the book could have been written by a 3 year old, and the last chapter would still make the book awesome!
I thought the coincidence of the Grey Wardens asking non-wardens to look for renegades was pretty consistent with what's happening inside each of the factions. The main characters are mostly elves, and Caronel seems to be an arcane warrior. Arcane warrior's in the MP, and the KE specialization sounds very similar. They're not going to spoil the game with the book. Maybe we'll see griffons flying or encounter them at Adamant, which used to house them and their riders.. I thought the way the griffons imprint like a mabari was cool. A griffon companion or summon in the future would be awesome.
