I have no reason to like him.

I don't as well. I found him very annoying.

Doesn't he encourage you to give Fenris back to his slave-master while also dismissing his experience as a slave? Dude has major problems.

He sure did. Don't forget the nasty comments he would say to Aveline after her husband died.

Anders, the only party member in any game that managed to annoy me to the point that I kicked him out of the party.

love Anders. I think he's a fascinating character and I enjoyed his character progression from Awakening to Kirkwall. I don't think I need to say I don't condone the murdering of innocents. Though, Anders always makes me wonder what I'd do if I were living under the same conditions.

The problem with Anders is that there is no progression. It's a dramatic shift that happened off screen. We don't get any insight into the change other than we know the ultimate cause. This was the same problem with Liara in ME2. Thankfully we got to explore it more in Lair of the Shadow Broker.

Anders was one of my Hawke's closest friends and while not condoning murder, i fully supported him in his beliefs. Might have helped that i felt the same way he did. If nothing else, if you kill him you eliminate any chance of an Anders/Ser Pounce a lot reunion. That would be too adorable.

Not my Hawkes... My Hawke was a Mage supporter, even a mage himself, but he thought Anders was too into the whole Mage deserve freedom thing for him to support Ander's way. He killed Anders in the end, because Alexander Hawke thought he was too far gone (as a abomination).

My favorite play through of DA2 was as an aggressive, pro-mage, blood-mage Hawke. She was all about mage's being free, by any means necessary. Any action, even violence, was justified in her mind as self defense. So she fully supported Anders. It was one of my favorite playthroughs to be all the way over to one extreme, since I rarely see things that way in real life.
