I actually like Fenris as a character even though I can't imagine I'd actually get along with someone like him in real life. I have big respect for Merrill who continues to be nice to him even though he's horrible to her, while Anders and Sebastian are quite happy to sell Fenris back into slavery Merrill strongly disagrees with that decision.

Sebastian happy about Fenris being handed over to Danarius? Only Anders cheers this decision on.

He doesn't vocalise his approval but you do get friendship points which to me says he does approve

EDIT: sorry I'm being stupid. I checked the wiki and realised I remembered incorrectly. I suppose it makes sense because Sebastian agrees with Fenris quite a lot

Haha, yes, quite the opposite. I think Sebastian gives you the biggest rivalry for handing Fenris over. :) They get along well.

Yeah dunno where my brain was there. That decision gets a lot of rivalry all around really, probably because its a pretty crappy thing to do. I very rarely agree with Fenris but I still can't sell him back into slavery. There is actually one banter between Fenris and Merrill where I actually agree with Fenris over Merrill when he points out that the Dalish have a "smug sense of superiority" and as a city elf at heart I have to agree with him.

He's all right. I particularly liked the conversation where he talked about killing the forest warriors in Seheron because Danarius told him to. I thought it was a great insight into the twisted pysche that can form from slavery.

I headcanon that perhaps Danarius enthralled him, or partially enthralled him, to get him to do that.  Either way, that convo is a character-defining moment for him.  Whatever really happened there, he feels guilty, even if it wasn't his fault.

Sebastian happy about Fenris being handed over to Danarius? Only Anders cheers this decision on.

Anders needs to suck it up, is all I have to say about that.  At least Fenris' hypocrisy (seeing mages as a threat to society and therefore deserving of being locked up, as opposed to slaves who deserve freedom) is understandable.

But, he's such a good person, who has gone through a lot.

Specially when talking to him, always this emotional music going on.

Maybe later, in a much later walk-through

I wanna try male - male. Even it's just for experment.

At least, he's not so ugly as: IRON BULL hahahhahaa :P

I very much disliked him all the way through DA 2, hes probably the one i most disliked the whole game, Anders came a close second though...

And his sister part just disgusted me even more..

I never found Sebastian in my DA 2 so no clue about him..

Ok Ok, ...........

To be honest, .....

He's one of the most / best characters in the game.

With the music going on, sometimes I did wanna press that "LOVE" button.

DAM, you people, I HATE YOU ALL , you wanna force me to things, I've never done.

But it won't work !! Why ?? Because I'm a DRAGON LOVER

Not that I wanna have sex with it, no, but I dam love these beasts.

Every time I kill a dragon, I'm almost crying like a kid or I feel   sick.

These are such beautifull beasts. And I love them. I wanna HUGH / KISS them.

Back On Topic = Fenris = Yes, sometimes I wanna press that "LOVE" button.

Dam, you people, I hate you !!! He's the most interesting character in the game.

Before, I have ROMANCED, MORRIGAN, till the END.

I did go with her, through the PORTAL !!!, Speaking about REAL love

Mostly, and now again, I wanna try with: MERRILL, but I'm scared for her MIRROR

And dam, she loves blood-magic. I'm trying now again with her.

If I don't like it, in the END. I wanna try FENRIS as next person.

Aveline, I don't like her. Her ways of saying things ... And she always dis-agrees.

I hate her, even I got her friendship. I use her only for END - BIGG - BOSS

MERRILL = I LOVE HER = BUT IM SCARED, IT WONT LAST

VARRIC = good friend, reminds me of GIMLEY, in LORDS OF THE RINGS, much fun ........;

ANDERS = IS getting boring and annoying !!!!! Always complaing .............

So for me: ....

MERRILL VS FENRIS ?????

Ok, I give MERRILL one last chance. And wanna see END of game.

Dam, I know I'm gonna cry.

Killing such a nice beast ....

Got already protection however. +700 fire resistance and stuff.

Still gonna :crying:

How much fire resistance is enough ??? For the HIGH DRAGON ???

What do you need ??? 500 - 1000 - 2000 fire resistance ???

Good question, I wanna say, for a newbie on Dragon Age 2 :P

Next time I go Male - Male , even it's against my nature. I go FENRIS.

I just heard Fenris' voice for the first time and it was not what I expected, but I liked it.

On the character himself, I can understand why he views Magic as good for nothing because he had only seen Magic used to enslave or hurt others. But I still find myself preferring the friendship path with Hawke, even though my Hawke sides with the Mages. It's nice for Fenris to have an actual friend who can be his anchor, even if they disagree on magic.

Really I don't like any of the rivalries in the game. To me, many of them get kind of abusive at times

My favorite story path with Fenris is when your friendship is largely positive, but not high enough that he will immediately join you to help the mages, and when you make one last plea in the Gallows, he has a change of heart. It was really satisfying.

Maybe I'm biased because I'm pro-mage, but I couldn't stand him. Extremely hypocritical and has only seen Mages from one paradigm, so then uses that to tar all mages with the same brush. The only reason I regretted killing him is when I need a second Tank for my Spirit Healer.

I'm very pro mage but I can still like characters who aren't. Cassandra is very much a traditionalist but I believe it comes form a god place. Carver was also not keen on magic but he learns not to be a dick about it. My mian issue is that Fenris doesn't do anything. He squats in a mansion in kirkwall for nigh on a decade doing nothing. Anders for all his jerkassitude is helping people before you even meet him. He's doing something with his life. Fenris is just there to whine about mages and antagonize merrill.

Nothing against the writers or gideon emery. His acting was fantastic, especially during a rivalmance and he was a fascinating character. Just, much like vivienne, he isn't one I find very pleasant. I'd much rather have had carver around, winging or no.

I think Fenris was consumed by paranoia. He basically sat in that mansion waiting for Danarius to strike at some point, even indicating that at some point, he may just take the fight to him instead. Considering the ambush, finding Hadriana, and the trap set by his own sister, he wasn't exactly off-base with that one.

Despite being with Fenris for close to a decade, I felt that his story was only starting in the third act after Danarius was killed in my game. He raised a toast to my Hawke and looked to the future. And then the game ended. I mean, if his arc had been resolved in the 2nd Act -- provided Danarius was crazy enough to get near a place filled with Qunari -- we could have seen him grow into his own man in the following years. Heck, if the Hawke "Estate" was not a glorified apartment I certainly would not have minded if my Hawke brought Fenris into the household as a man-at-arms or bodyguard.

For my money, Cyrus, the third act is all around bad.  Bioware wasn't given enough time to finish the game and it is a shame because it is that third act that felt the heat the most.  I love DA2, but I refuse to play Act 3 any more...
