For me, I think ESRB throws out the M rating too much. I always thought of the M for Mature rating to be the equivalent of an R rated movie but it's more like a hybrid of PG-13 and R, too strong for PG-13 but a little light for R rated. I only know a good handful of games that are true M rated games, GTA, Saints Row(kind of), The WItcher(never played it but scene clips), Outlast, Manhunt, Mafia II and some more. I think there needs to be a rating in between T and M, that would be where Mass Effect and Dragon Age fall in my opinion.
Good, I prefer a M rating, or higher. Never understood the problem with nudity, and it's usually the one thing that gives games a higher rating. Then again, a woman in a bikini is considered "nude" according to the people who rate games...

I have to disagree, the majority of non-mobile gamers are over 18.An 18+ rating is usually not good for a game. As many stores may not sell it and definitely won't let under 18's buy it. Even GTAV is 17
Who cares? Nudity, violence, etc. doesn't make a game mature or immature.
If implemented correctly it makes it more enjoyable though.
This is good news. I am not a child and this game is not being made for children.

I concur.
O_O nudity OMG... I think this is going to be too much for BW to handle.
Everybody talking about the nudity, but tbh it's the Strong Language thing that I'm questioning the most.
I hope we don't suddenly have characters dropping the F-bomb all over the place. I feel it would take me out of the world somehow. I mean, if we spent so long with the likes of Isabela and Oghren without hearing it, I'd presume it wasn't a cuss in common usage. It's a fantasy world, they can have their own curses and way of speaking - I don't need lots of real-world swearing to make the game seem "mature". It'd be even worse if suddenly Varric, Cullen or Leliana become pottymouths when they never were before. Hopefully BW didn't go overboard.

Nudity?
Pfft..
I don't nudity.
That doesn't make a game mature
*hides porn mags*
Exactly!
Wait!
"Nudity" not "partial nudity".
I think the protagonist has lost the mythical power to have sex through clothes...
Yeah, most of the time it's annoying instead of being funny.
*SNIP*
NO. JUST NO.
I have to argue that Ellie's overuse of the f*** was actually implemented really well for her character because she's immature. But I agree, in DA setting it wouldn't work.

The female one I guess, bare chest. I doubt they are going to show genitalia.

Protagonist can **** you with a stare

Imagine the uproar if BioWare were to ever show a penis.
The world is not ready for such a sight.

I'd guess naked ass. Or possibly artistic intimation a la ME1.
Just to let you know I got a warning for posting 3 gifs about f-words used by that brat in 'Last of us' which I find annoying and I'm against it. It was unfair, considering people are writing similar words in this thread. So this is a risky thread, I be gone.

"Nudity" is interesting, since I just checked the ESRB site and Origins had only "Partial Nudity", while 2 only had "Sexual Content".
its just american censorship imo ersb can be a bit stifling."Nudity" is interesting, since I just checked the ESRB site and Origins had only "Partial Nudity", while 2 only had "Sexual Content".
Dragon Age hardly has an enviable record for well-implemented nudity, unless you consider the Broodmother shaking her racks at the Warden to be a good time.
don't remind me that
Nudity is most suprising, considering the clothed (fully or underwear) sex scenes of previous two titles.
Mass Effect 1 managed to do sex scenes, without actually showing any nudity, but without clothes either.
Are they going to go with full nudity this time?

"Strong" language was actually used in DA2. I can recall Anders and Isabela (possibly Varric) using it, not an F-word but something vulgar nonetheless.
Unfortunately, I cannot give actual quotes, because for some unknown reasons this forum censors obscene language, despite all games discussed here being rated M.
