I don't really see what's wrong with requesting men also be nude if women are. I always thought it was ridiculous in Witcher 2 where Geralt has sex with pants on. Like, I don't even care about seeing all the naughty bits in a video game (I think clever camera angles is better, like in Mass Effect 1), but if you're gonna show one gender, show the other.

I didn't even want to see Geralt naked, but the difference was pretty noticeable.

And then I hear people go on about how mature The Witcher is for handling sex so well  -_-

The blurbs from the other games can help give an indication of what to expect. Nudity seems to go beyond broodmothers as those only got "partial nudity" flags

If anyone else is curious, here's a list of how the ESRB defines each of their content descriptors: http://www.esrb.org/...jsp#descriptors

It's actually kind of interesting where they draw the lines for each category. Well, I find it interesting, at least.

Who cares? Nudity, violence, etc. doesn't make a game mature or immature. Plenty of games have those things and feel like they have been written by 5 year olds. The fact that Witcher series (for example) shows more breasts and objectifies women in a way DA hasn't doesn't make the game more mature (arguably the opposite).

Isn't Witcher have underwear sex also? Geralt must be really manly to be able to have sex with women with pants on. :P Nothing wrong with that, but for people who clamor about how mature it is, I just kinda find it funny with the ewww penis mentality like they have never stepped foot in a locker room before.

Anyway, Heavy Rain has a realistic take on nudity, and none of it was sexual. Nudity doesn't have to be sexual, it could be sensual. I'm not a fan of underwear, and I would rather they make a camera angle trick than underwear.

Am disappointed, but will see on my own as the previous titles also received a like rating. I am hoping that Iron Bull doesn't have to get benched like James Vega; rather like Freddy Prinze.

I'm confused as to what you are disappointed about?

Both of the previous games were rated M.

Were you expecting a lower rating or were you hoping for AO? xD

I blame the Iron Bull for this rating.

Underwear sex considered nudity?

Just checked. DA:O's rating has partial nudity listed. This is full blown nudity apparently...

Good. I'm a grown man and I don't want to play a kids game.

M 17+ is for teenagers too. Adults don't generally like similar themes to teenagers.

Lol at "a female demon character is briefly depicted with bare breasts". Because they used the singular (and the phrase doesn't appear in DA2's synopsis), I have to assume they meant the broodmother rather than desire demons. Who, one, isn't a demon. And two, they must have been uber pro at that boss fight if they consider it "brief". ;)

...yep, went and read the Awakening synopsis, they called the Mother a "demon" as well. Sigh...

Am mostly concerned with the mention of Strong Language; the reason I passed on ME3 for so long. Friends tipped me off to avoiding Vega and most profanity, and learned not to invite Jack or Zaeed to the Citadel DLC party. Currently, the only one that has concerned me is Sera, but will again see from the game itself.

The broodmothers, and mostly how they are made... easily some of the most effed up things I have seen in a videogame.

ME was, but not so ME2 or ME3. Only played ME2 a single time, and avoid most of the problems in ME3.

Um can you explain to me how you can get through all the mother mature themes of the games but profanity is the big no no?

Just curious

Regarding Romance Scenes...

From this interview with Gamerzines:

http://www.gamerzine...ew-talking.html

One of the things BioWare RPGs are known for is their romance scenes, particularly the PG-13 camera angles and the soft focus Cinemax style approach. Has that changed at all?

We certainly could push those romance scenes in any direction we wanted really. Something that didn’t work well is that we tried more, well I won’t say graphic, but in Dragon Age: Origins we had characters crawling around in their underwear and it looked weird because they were wearing these lacy Victoria Secret panties and outfits which looked out of place. Certainly when you have these characters interacting with each other in such an intimate way it’s incredibly expensive in terms of animation fidelity and getting it to look like they are really there and touching each other. I think Mass Effect’s scenes were done really well and I think we will take Inquisition’s scenes in that direction. You might have a nude character but they are framed in such a way that parts of them are in shadow, or having characters in various states of undress.

We also want to focus not just on the sex itself, but also that this is the culmination of spending a lot of time with a character and getting to know them, and so we’re giving scenes a mature and tasteful treatment I guess. We’ll see where it goes for Dragon Age: Inquisition, it’s something that we’re working on right now so we’ll see how these scenes pan out.

I'm honestly just curious, but what is your objection to strong language and why do you draw the line there, but not at graphic violence or sexual content? I'm not saying there's anything wrong with your objections (people are free to dislike whatever), but I'm just having a hard time understanding this.

as a whole the series is much tamer than most other M rated shooters, or even RPGs

One that immediately comes to mind is Fallout 3. I was surprised the first time I played that game at how much profanity there was in casual conversations, since it was the first time I've ever experienced that in a video game (it's funny, since I myself use a lot of profanity, and spend time with a lot of people who also use strong language, so it was weird to get caught off guard by a game!).

He was referring to Mass Effect the game, not Mass Effect the series. And yeah there are a lot of weird stuff in Bioware games (go-go fully clothed showers).
