So aside from a few skills that seem to provide healing with risk / attack requirements, you gotta heal with potions. Single player you can carry a few potions and restock them at camps or fortresses. In demos I think I saw 8 potions although apparently you can upgrade how many you can carry, it mights tart with a few and work up to a dozen.

This has been brought up in several threads but no, there are no healing tree. From what I know there will be a healing spell, but you cannot "spam" healing like before.
You will have to plan a head and have your mages use defenses to help you avoid getting injured.
And of course, use potions; but you won't be able to "spam" those either.
You health will not automatically replenish after a battle either, making you have to think every decision through.

Just because the specializations are out and there isn't a special healing tree doesn't mean it's not in the game. We know for sure that there are a number of new defensive buffs that mages will be able to cast, and I'm guessing we'll be able to have a healing spell or two. In fact I think I remember seeing a group healing icon in one of the gameplay vids, though it wasn't demonstrated and it looked like it was a focus based ability. But yeah, no pure healer this time around, which is sad because that was definitely what I was going to play as if possible. But oh well, Knight Enchanter it is!

It's worth nothing that although there is a lot less healing available, there appears to be a lot more CC options and penalty conditions to mitigate damage in non-healing ways. It remains to be seen how it plays out in practice however.
Force Mage was really cool CCC. Hopefully DAI does something like that instead if just differently named paralyze spells.
