I was planning on running Reaver, and given how weak the healing options are going to (apparently) be, Devour looks like its going to be worth its weight in gold.

Probably a rogue for my first inquisitor. The Assassin spec sounds interesting, but it seems to be most suited for an up-close, stabbity playstyle, and since I'm more into archery... I'm currently leaning towards Tempest. We'll see.

That being said, my mind has mostly changed from necromancer to knight enchanter. Necromancers don't sound as exciting as I imagined them, and a knight enchanter would suit the story of a reluctant hero finally accepting that he has to wade into battle to get the job done.

Human Sword and Board Warrior. Either Templar or Champion spec, depending on whether or not I want my Inquisitor to main tank.

I was initially interested in Knight Enchanter but I have a hard time believing in a mage using properly a sword, and this spec seem too much like a tank. So I think I'd rather go for the Rift Mage.
You have a hard time believing a mage could use a sword why? The fact that they are specifically taught by the Chantry to, or the fact that Tevinter has had armies like this for millennia don't make you think a mage can use a sword? Being born with magic doesn't make everything else foreign to you.

Given the mark on the Inquisitor's hand, I was always planning on going Rift Mage for my first two Inquisitors (a male Qunari and fem Elf). Figured Rift Mage was going to be something like what it was described to be, so no change to my plans.
My third Inquisitor, however...I was thinking he was going to be something like an Artificer, but Tempest sounds mighty tempting.

So I'll probably go Warrior Champion now

(KE just seemed to be too 'disceplined' for her and as for Necromancer, well.. I kept imagining the smell of dead boddies ^^' so, it's a no go for me I guess..)

I was planning to run Templar with my first Human and Reaver with my first Qunari. Those plans are unchanged.

So, since we now have updated info on all the specializations (on the DA:I website if you didn't know!) I was wondering if anyone's views on them changed, and if that affected your possible Inquisitors?
eg: I was originally planing on a Qunari Knight-Enchanter. After thinking about it, I don't see her being all "Look at ma magic sword!" but more logical and stoic. With the new info, it seems Rift Mage (the spec. I was probably least interested in before) is now the sort of path i'm seeing her take.
As with Artficer/Tempest. I had assumed Artificers were the "techy" spec., utilising both traps AND grenades. Now that they seem primarily trap focused, however, i'm switching my eccentric Dwarf grenadier to Tempest, and making my scout-like Qunari archer an Artificer.
i still haven't decided between champion and reaver yet.

Nope . I wanted a Blood Mage but that was out of the question . So that leave me with trying a Necro . In the end , I will try them all and see which one fit what charachter best .
But class play a minimal role for me , and have little impact . There are class (rogue) I don't go for no matter what though .

For my first Mage, I was thinking about using Knight Enchanter, but I might change that to Necromancer instead.
As for the Rogue, I think I might still stick with Assassin, but the Tempest sounds really interesting.

You know... I think I've changed my mind again. A 2 handed warrior with strong defensive skills might be a good choice since damage mitigation is going to be so important this time around. I don't really like kiting, or even worse, outright fleeing from enemies, but that might be necessary in order to prevent losing too much health per battle. So yeah, I will probably just stick with Champion like I originally planned... if the Champion skills don't look useful, I might just take the spec but focus mainly on pure warrior skills. Lyrium addiction doesn't sound like something my first Inquisitor is going to be okay with, even if it's just part of the lore and not reflected in the gameplay...

Mages who know how to use swords (or any martial weapon) are the best kinds of mages.

I loved Arcane Warrior from DA:O and the minute I saw Knight Enchanter my mind was made up. Even more so when Qunari were found to be a playable race. I'll need to extra melee resistance when I'm going at it with my lightsaber arcane blade and choke hold chain lightening

Still intending to do a Warrior-Templar in my first playthrough. Since my Inquisitor will be human, it makes the most sense considering his family pushed him into service with the Chantry.

Still stuck between Knight Enchanter and Rift Mage for first run. I'd like to see them in action. I like Rift Mage for it's implied 'neutrality' and how it could relate to green hand powers. I like Knight Enchanter cause it's another name for Jedi Knight.

Necromancer will be my first run, because an army of undead will perfectly suit my creepy human female mage. For my first rogue I'm pretty torn between tempest or artificer.

That sounds good... so good that I think I'll steal the idea and play as a creepy human female necromancer at some point in the future. ![]()

I'm torn between Rift Mage and Knight Enchanter for my human mage. I wanted her to be a loyal Circle mage, as well as have access to defensive/protective magic, but I was really drawn to the Rift Mage spec because of the Inquisitor's connection to the Fade. If Rift Mage plays like Force Mage from DA2, however, that will make my decision easier... I didn't like Force Mage.
I didn't like Force Mage either until I figured out the combos and took the upgrades. Then, Fenris never left my party.
But before that (and it took me a few mage playthroughs), I thought it was a pretty wimpy place to put my points.
I was going to do Knight Enchanter until I saw the Rift Mage description. It does sound a lot like Force Mage which I love. I'm sort of torn between the two, but I'll probably go with Rift Mage as I'm much more fond of nukers controlling the battlefield. I just hope the entropy tree comes back in all it's glory.
I love rogues and seeing the other specializations now, I'll probably just end up going assassin. I thought Tempest, however it currently sounds too similar to the other one and just exchanges traps for bombs. Assassin has served me well as a DPS class for two games. I just hope Duelist is back in some form as it's my favorite.
Maybe they melded Shadow and the Stealth trees together as they sort of did the same thing in DA2. A girl can dream. ![]()
The warrior specs haven't changed much, so I'll probably go with Templar as that's what I was planning to do originally and remains what I always do. So very useful in DA2 against all those mages, demons, and darkspawn. Once I realized the Arishok and Meredith could both be affected by silence those battles became a breeze. ![]()

Green hand.
An ability that everyone has? That makes no sense. Being a rift mage has nothing to do with the Inquisitor's powers. I bet a **** ton of the antagonist are "Rift Mages."
