I just bought yesterday Awakening the expansion pack to DA : O. but although I took it from Origin, an error message reads that I need to insert the Awakening CD:
 
 "Impossible to find the Dragon Age CD. Please insert the CD and try again"
and the title of this message is "Dragon Age: Origin Awakening".
 
Worse, I can't either play at DA O with my CD; it seems that the expansion replaces the original game.
Tried to reinstall Awakening, look for updates...nothing of course
 
Does anyone know of this issue? Didn't contact support yet since I'd like to play before Christmas.

Hum, your DAO install is on CD?

 

Deinstall DAA (and DAO, but keep your saves of course).

 

Try redeeming your DAO code in Origin, so that you don't have to insert DAO CD anymore. Origin will automatically grant you a digital version of the game if you insert your CD game code.

 

Then, let Origin intall DAO + DAA.

 

I don't think Origin has been created in a way that can deal with both CD install and digital install (for DLC). Try having all digital content install.

It worked!! and, as you pointed, there seems to have been a conflict between

my CD copy of DAO and the numeric one of Awakening.

I couldn't have guessed it alone, that's for sure.

 

So I uninstalled all the game and its mods (witch hunt...), registered my copy of DAO online

--dunno why I hadn't done it earlier since I had for DA2--

and Origin did the rest.

It took several hours but now everything runs properly thanks to you.
