[Enviable Memory]

So, with Inquisition in on the horizon, I thought one more playthrough of DAO & DA2 was in order. And why not do this as a challenge, and involve others as well? Now, if you're interested, why not join me on this quest, and add your own challenges/characters/images to this thread? 
 
My challenge: 
 
1. Get a complete playthrough done, with roughly 50 days on the clock. This will be tough, working full time and with a wife and toddler and all. However, there is a two-week holiday on the horizon, so it is not totally unrealistic. 
2. A character I haven't played yet: Dalish male elf (I have started one or two games as a Dalish, but never really finished). He won't be a nice person in the beginning, and I'll see where this goes.  For DA2 no plans yet, I'll see where DAO takes me. 
3. Try out things I haven't tried out before storywise.
 
4. No DLC items.
 
That said, meet Tharos, a young Dalish elf, very much convinced of elven superiority. Though his keeper is a mild and caring person, Tharos hate towards human is a standout among the other Dalish. Naturally, he killed the humans in the beginning of his adventure.

Great! Yeah, that might happen for me as well. Never romanced Zevran, and since the the other options are humans...but we'll see. Maybe Tharos has a change of heart at some point

I've started a new DA:O and DA 2 character a few months ago but stopped both about halfway through. I think I might have to give this a try though. 

 

I've played and beat DA:O as Human Noble, Elf Mage and Dwarf Commoner. I guess I'll have to play a Dalish or City elf, I haven't decided yet. For DA 2 I guess I'll have to side with the templars as a warrior Hawke.

I've started a new DA:O and DA 2 character a few months ago but stopped both about halfway through. I think I might have to give this a try though.

I've also played human noble, human mage, dwarven noble; some multiple times. So this dalish will hopefully not be abandoned *fingers-crossed*

Alot of peoples didn't like the dalish Origins . I finished the game as a City Elf warrior (wearing massive armor) and it was funny to look at . But I did the Dalish Origins and I liked it . To me , at least....it was the only Origins where I felt the urge to go back to my clan badly . Well City Elf too (and you get to Denerim soo late that was torture) . But Dalish Elf make the whole Dalish Arc soo much more fun . 

I have yet to finish Dwarf Noble/Commoner and mostly due to....I DONT KNOW WHO they should smooche !!! well it is an earthshaking choice to me

Hehe, true enough. With the Dwarven noble, I went so the no romance path; with this one, I'm still very unsure. If keep playing him like I do now, no way will he either succumb to Morrigan's wily charms or Leliana's wierd notions, them being humans and all. So Zev might be the man, who knows. 

 

So far, playing the Dalish not as a goody-two-shoes (which I often do with my characters), but as a ruthless elven superiorist (does this word even exist?), is lots of fun

 

Also, I'm looking forward to remarks from the clan in DA2 (don't spoil!).

I have yet to finish a Zevran Romance myself . He is the only one...I didn't finish . 

My Dalish actually romanced Morrigan . I modded Morrigan..so it was a F!Dalish + Morrigan . And they both went trough the mirror... it was soo sweet lol 

 

I though Dwarf Castless would go well with Zevran . I have to try that . My Dalish was going for Zevran but when I heard his stuff about not being Dalish.............it was Morrigan then . 

My Noble Dwarf..now I can't decide between Leliana or Alistair . Especially since I like to put Alistair on the Throne but I don't want that whole 'lover on the side' thing . 

And If I pick leliana....well.....I just wish she could ask to make a Nug farm

So you gonna transfert your save then from DAO to DA2 ? Thats gonna be awesome !

That has often been my problem...I start with the intention of ruthlessness and end up with unicorns and rainbows

Yeah, finishing Zevran seems difficult . But I guess you're right, there needs to be some smoochie, so it might actually be Zevran. Why not? My first playthrough when DAO came out was all good and heroic with the small "flaw" of the ultimate sacrifice.I did that again with the mage. Later, an all evil playthrough too. That was ok at the time, but over the years I learned that DAO is much more fun with keeping to the character origin and how that person might develop and what decisions they would make. That works better in DAO than in DA2, I think, where there are not as many options. Either you are pro-mage/templar or not; and if you constantly switch between good, humorous and evil, it's more akin to a personality disorder .

In DA2 , it was more fun . You said Blood Mages are hiding in there and are raising Undead ?! And templars are on the way and are gonna probably slaughter them ? NOOO ! Hawke to the Rescue of the Blood Mageeeeee!! I'M COMING!!!

Yup, villainy is hard for me, too. What I liked most about DA2 were the comments the companions constantly give. You had that in DAO, but only here and there. I hope in DAI it is even more common. I'm so looking forward to the banter with different characters I haven't had in my party so often. 

 

I already enjoy this playthrough very much. I have never before been adamant about not joining the Wardens, this time I did - so*bang* right of conscription. 

 

And then of course, in Ostgar:

 

I'm no friend of yours, human lord.

 

I always wanted to use that line. Cailan's response is really suave

Poor Cailan...he get snobbed everytime in that scene  I stopped doing it due to him giving me the Puppies eyes . But I get to rub it in Arl Eamon...and he goes all 'b-b-but..I didn't mean...errr.......'' .

Damn , how do you get that color on your pics ? They are mind blowing ! Seriously , just beautiful . You could do sooo much with screenshot like that...even make up a different story

Ohh...that was nasty. But I guess that prisoner just had to go, he deserved it. Never did that, that guard's and Alistair's rection though...

The stories walk their own path. As for the colours, I just play around with picasa and try to find something which I seem fits the mood of the scene - purely subjective and verrrry simple
