So I'm wondering if on top of planning your inquisitiors, you guys have already planned the companions you'll take along with them, and how you chose them!

 

My first party:

 

-Qunquisitor rogue artificer.

-Cassandra.

-Dorian (my li).

-Cole.

 

I'm thinking this inquisition will be all about protecting the weak and my favorite advisor will probably be Josephine, to avoid bloodshed, but if you make yourself an enemy of this inquisition, they're gonna retaliate and be utterly ruthless. I think Cass fits in that manner because she's honorable but driven and doesn't let anything stand in her path (like gates for example). I'm thinking Dorian, even though we don't know much about him, could fit here. I mean sure he rejects Tevinter but since I'm not planning on being anywhere near as bad as tevinter he's gotta be happy right. And Cole... I don't think Cole will have a problem killing, or even being cruel, towards evil people.

Although it's difficult to say without spending time with the characters, I anticipate that my first party (for a Human Male Warrior) will consist of Cassandra, Blackwall and Sera. Swap Blackwall out for either Vivienne or Dorian, if a mage is required.

For the rest, I will probably cycle through them.

It's hard to say since we barely knew about the characters, but I already have two choices of main party in my mind.

This has been hard for me, and will kinda depend on whether I decided to play male or female qunari in the end. Leaning currently towards dudequn, but will depend on how much of a bishie I can make him.

Zhenya - (f) dwarf warrior - Iron Bull (LI), Solas, and switch out all three rogues until I find the best fit

Ryumka - (f) human mage - Iron Bull, Blackwall, and Sera (LI-Cullen)

(f) elf rogue - Blackwall, Solas (LI), and Dorian

 

I really need to come up with a PC that I can run with Cassandra, Varric, and Solas. I expect those companion banters to have more than a few sparks...

My general team seems to be either Cassandra or Blackwall as the muscle, Solas or Dorian as the mage and Cole or Varric as the rogue. Team Benchwarmers currently seems to be: Vivienne, Sera and Iron Bull. Sera and Viv have a chance of getting off of the team if they change their minds about Cole

Dorrian (I guess I'll make him and all other mages DPS/defense hybrid)

 

Party for side-quests in Ferelden:

Blackwall (probably sword and shield warrior)

Cole (dual-wielding. Archer would be better for party balance (I'll be dual-wielding rogue as well), but I can't imagine Cole with bow)

Solas (same as Dorian)

 

Party for side-quests in Orlais:

Cassandra (sword and shield warrior)

Sera (archer)

Vivienne (same as Dorian and Solas)

 

I may change my party if some companions will fit better in a quest (for example - I take Cassandra, Cole/Varric and Vivienne on quest which include mage-templar conflict) and I'm definitely going to try all combinations in peaceful areas just for party banter.

For now, the most interesting options to me are:

- Inquisitor: Qunari mage (male),

 

-Varric,

-Cassandra,

-Solas.

 

Or:

-Varric,

-Iron Bull,

-Dorian.

 

So, Varric got his spot granted, just as I was taking him on every quest in DA2. For the rest, it mainly depends on their personalities. Also, these compositions have 1 from each class, they appear to be quite versatile in terms of combat. First option is also balanced in regards, that it contains members from 4 races.

My first quizzy (elf, mage) will most likely take Solas (whom said quizzy will be romancing), Cole, and Blackwall around. Although, I think it will be fun to drag Varric along with Cassandra, because I'm a terrible person. 

 

All the characters look interesting though. So I'll probably trade them out quite often.
