I had to remove Vivienne from my main squad since 2 KEs sounds redundant... but since I still need another ranged attacker, I will probably go with Cole.  Hopefully Dorian and Cole get along... that's the only conflict I can foresee...

I'll probably switch around characters a bit for approval and such, but I've had my main party decided on for some time:

Male, Dwarf, British, Templar Inquisitor

Cassandra Pentaghast: love interest 

Varric Tethras: best buddy 

Solas: seems chill

First playthrough will be with a female elf necromancer, and she'll be bringing along Blackwall (LI), Cole, and Solas. My second playthrough will be a male Qunari necromancer, and he'll be bringing along Bull (LI), Varric, and Solas. Might run a male elf necromancer after those two, and if so, I'll have Dorian (LI), Varric, and Blackwall tag alongside. As of right now, I have no plans on bringing along any of the female companions, but that may change once I get to know them. For now, it's males or bust. :3

Based just on what we know of the characters so far, this is how I plan to party up, for the most part:

 

- Antquisitor (Human/Male/Champion/Warrior/Sword'n'Board)

- Solas

- Varric

- Iron Bull

 

I do plan on changing things up here and there, given that players are being rewarded for having different party members at certain times (dialogue, quests, etc.). Varric is the only permanent party member, if I can help it. If his personality remains anything like it was in DA2, then I can't wait to see what shenanigans we get into or what trouble he gets my party out of!

Bull and Varric IMO seem like they'd be hilarious together. Plus, in the female Qunari gameplay video, you can faintly hear Bull ask Sera in Redcliff, if enemies are on the opposite side of the river. Would she allow him to throw her over it, so she could easily kill them. This group I think would cause me to spend more time laughing, than any. My 2nd when I romance Dori (hope that becomes a nickname after romance, it's so cute), will be Blackwall, Dorian, Cassandra, and Varric? (must have a lock picker)

I'll probably switch through everyone, but my first character will be a rogue, so sadly the rogues will probably be left out for most of that run (I'M SORRY ROGUEYS, YOU ALL LOOK AWESOME BUT I NEED PARTY BALANCE)

 

Although I do also like the idea of an all one type run since it will be an option this time, haven't had more than two rogues or two mages before, so now I can do ALL ROGUES OR ALL MAGES and all warriors but you could do that in DAO so it's not as impressive.

I will go with a party party! Bull (LI), Blackwall and Varric! ... and if my Dalish happens to be an archer ... and if that means that my Inquisitor will end up with no mages on his team ... I will call it the YOLO-team (for the morale's boost) and try to not kill my Dalish too often XD

 

Seriously though ... I can't imagine my first playthrough without the Cole&Solas duo ... so there you go ... here is my mage!

Hmm...will be switching around a little at times, but so far, my main team looks like it will be:

Inquisitor Lavellan: dalish lady mage, with a focus on explosive spells, and a desire to save people. Probably a rift mage.
Varric: He saved my bacon in DA2 with his silver tongue, and Bianca. Hopefully, the "duo" can do it again.
Sera: What can I say, I got a thing for those carrying for the little guy. If possible, I'll have her stick to daggers (for group balance...and I don't want to separate Varric and Bianca)
Iron Bull/Blackwall: Will switch between them depending on the mission. Will probably also stick with a shield for Blackwall (tis only fitting with that name).

I haven't really looked up a lot of the characters' personalities; I've been avoiding it honestly.  I may know what they look like and such, but their personalities are something that I'd like to somewhat discover on my own.  So, I like characters that I enjoy hearing and such in my first playthrough.  For a while, I might be switching them in and out, getting a feel for them.  Also, what class I play as influences who's in my party.

 

I'm planning to be an elven mage my first run, so...

- Varric

- Cassandra or Blackwall

- Cole or Solas

 

It depends on who I like butting heads with and not, too.  I liked having Anders in the party in DA2 because I enjoyed making him mad.

Whoever won't sass one another to death, I suppose. I've got enough nagging in DA2, I want DAO's levity and funny banters. From what I've heard Sera/Bull/Dorian is cool and Cass/Solas/Cole seems decent. But damn, I wanna have Varric in the party, but his tensions with Cass and Bull... I dunno. 

Aslo, might want to try hoard mages  Having all of them and magequizzy on a quest must be something.
