Doing two two simultaneous playthroughs for my first time through Inquisition.

Hope Trevelyan, Female Mage, Knight-Enchanter

Imperia Trevelyan is my horribly cruel Templar, and will likely end up with Cassandra (ideally respec'd to 2H Warrior), Varric, and then either Dorian or Solas.

 

Nibenay Lavellan is my Dalish supremacist, and is going with Blackwall, Cole, and Solas.

This will most likely be my first party (although I'll likely swap companions in and out sometimes, but these will be my first Inquisitor's favorite companions): 

 

-Aoife Lavellan (Rift Mage)

Her favorite adviser will be Josephine, as she'll be most interested in dealing with others as diplomatically and peacefully as possible. 

 

And for my second playthrough, I'll likely do:

 

-Elspeth Trevelyan (Necromancer)

-Dorian

-Cole

-Cassandra

 

Her favorite adviser will be Cullen (also her LI), as she prefers to deal with things straightforwardly and with violence where necessary. 

 

Third playthrough:

 

-Adelmar Trevelyan (Champion)

-Vivienne

-Sera

-Iron Bull

 

He will be romancing Josephine, but he prefers Leliana's cloak-and-dagger style to dealing with problems.

This will be the first time ever I play as a female character before a male character (I'm male).  I simply liked my elven female warrior playthrough of DA:O better and want to go with that.

I am going to try to be the first person to finish a playthrough using all mages, many people that I have read reviews from have said that on normal difficulty looks to be not that hard and requires very little use of tactical cam, so my theory is in order to make normal difficulty tougher without switching difficulty scale, is do all mages. This should make for a really hard challenge, and I guess the same could be said if you did all rogues or all warriors.

Iron Bull and/or Dorian, depending on whether I find myself needing more melee or magic support

 

Varric had a permanent slot in my DA2 party as the one sane man in Kirkwall, so I'm hoping he'll fill a similar role in this game, and I want to see his banter with Cassandra play out. Cass will be my LI, and also just seems like the one who's "supposed" to come with you, like Alistair in DA:O. Plus, I just like the idea that she's such a badass that she can occupy the role of tank in a party that also includes two eight-foot-tall minotaurs.

 

Like Morrigan in DA:O or Isabela in DA2, I'll bring the Bull or Dorian along for the horribly inappropriate commentary.

Although it's difficult to say without spending time with the characters, I anticipate that my first party (for a Human Male Warrior) will consist of Cassandra, Blackwall and Sera. Swap Blackwall out for either Vivienne or Dorian, if a mage is required.

Exactly this for me as well. Except substitute Human for Qunari.

Why aren't people choosing cullen.. is there a problem with him?  My first choice would be Cullen, Lilana, and a mage .. I like the idea of the original set up from first DA. So im trying out that first when i get in game. ( not in game yet ) So I was just curious why not many pick Cullen... ?
