I usually don't like going into RPG's(especially Dragon Age and Mass Effect games) with too many preconceived notions about who I want  my character to be because I usually change my character depending upon what choices are offered to me in the game, but I am looking for anything to do to help pass the time before Inquisition gets here so I am doing this 100 question character builder in the mean time. Posting what I have done and will post the rest after I have answered. Here is the link to the questions if any of you would also like to do this and maybe share your characters.

Race: Elven

Hair: Strawberry blonde

Eye: Green

Style of Dress: Light armor for easy moving and flexibility.

Tattoos: I have my Dailsh clan markings on my face and chest, they are a light grey color and swirl along my eyebrows and cheekbones.

Scars: I have a scar along my right eyebrow and one that splits my bottom lip on the left.

Distinguishing Marks: I have a mole above the scar on my right eyebrow.

 

8-To which social class do you belong?

Among my clan I am, how the humans say, middle class. In human society Elves are treated abyssmally and are not treated with any social standing or class.

 

9-Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?

No.

 

10-Are you right- or left-handed?

I am ambidextrous, but I carry my staff in my right hand predominantly.

 

11-What does your voice sound like?

Light, airy, and with an English accent.

 

12-What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?

Damn!

 

13-What do you have in your pockets?

2 vials of health potion, 3 vials of Lyrium potion, and coins for food and bribery.

 

14-Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?

I am mischievious, and as such I like to make others uncomfortable(mostly humans) as they have such serious and strict countenances that when they become uncomfotable they become highly amusing.

　

 

Part 2: Growing Up

15-How would you describe your childhood in general?

For a child growing up in a forest and constantly on the move I had a relatively good childhood.

 

16-What is your earliest memory?

My earliest memory is being told of the Eluvians by our storyteller.

 

17-How much schooling have you had?

I am an Elf. My schooling consisted of reading, writing, healing spells and shooting wild boar.

 

18-Did you enjoy school?

N/A

 

19-Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?

Most of my skills were taught to me by our Keepers' second who was also a Mage.

 

20-While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.

Our Keepers' first was what could be considered a role model I guess. I looked up to her and admired her. She was strong, capable, and intelligent.

 

21-While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?

Not well, I was very solitary as a child and even more now as an adult.

 

22-As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a hunter and Keeper.

 

23-As a child, what were your favorite activities?

Being with my mother and procticing magic.

Intelligence and maturity.

No.

My first kiss was with am older Elfin boy during one of our tracking and exploring missions.

I am not, but neither am I indiscriminate.

I am a Mage and I learned of my power fairly young when my group was attacked by a bear and I blasted it with Ice and froze it in place.

　

 

Part 3: Past Influences

29-What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?

Watching my clan disintegrate into almost extinction. We are a dwindling number and it is disturbing to witness.

 

30-Who has had the most influence on you?

My mother and my Keeper.

 

31-What do you consider your greatest achievement?

I have yet to live a fraction of my life, I believe my greatest achievement is yet to be realized and achieved.

 

32-What is your greatest regret?

Not being able to do more for my people.

 

33-What is the most evil thing you have ever done?

I watched a group of Templars that were escorting Mages to a Circle be murdered by wolves. I helped the Mages escape but I let the Templars die.

 

34-Do you have a criminal record of any kind?

No, because I have never been caught.

 

35-When was the time you were the most frightened?

I get scared or frightened quite infrequently so I can't remember.

 

36-What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?

While out harvesting berries for food with my group I slipped in a pile of bear feces and fell on my behind.

 

37-If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?

Ligering on past regrets and the past in general is not something I do because you cannot live in the past and move on to the future at the same time.

 

38-What is your best memory?

I do not know.

 

39-What is your worst memory?

Finding my family murdered.

In between. I am relaistic.

My greatest fear is being forgotten. Not being able to make a name for myself in the world before I die. Not making an impact.

It is sweaty and dirty, but only when done right.

I believe it is acceptable to kill under the circumstances of self preservation and protecting the innocent.

Evil has many forms and is capable of many things: Murder, rape, ect.

Maybe. I cannot say for sure.

Working your hardest to achieve your goals and having fun along the way. Seeing far away places and meeting new people.

I am very honest but not entirely open with strangers. There is a difference.

Some, but we all do if we truly honest with ourselves.

It depends on what I am being asked to do.

I would die for my clan and for an innocent if I were protecting them.

The grand cleric baptizing me in faith to the Maker.

A lot. More than most, except maybe scholars (like Genitivi). Was educated as a lad, and pursued further studies while in The Circle. Have the academic knowledge of a scholar.

Sure did. Knowledge is power.

During my apprentice training at the Ostwick Circle.

I looked up to my older siblings. I looked up to our Junior and Senior Enchanters in Ostwick's Circle, as well as our First Enchanter.

Just fine. I was the youngest, so they didn't put much pressure on me to really become anything of an authority/royal figure. So it mostly fun and giggles with them.

I don't know. When I joined Ostwick's Circle, I dreamed of becoming one of the tenured Enchanters who actually have permission to leave the Circle to pursue academic studies of their choosing.

Playing pranks. Sneaking sweets to bed. Listening to our historians. Eating Andraste's wafers at the Chantry.

I was very intelligent and cunning compared to the other young lads. I scored higher examination grades and led our classrooms in terms of critical thought procedures. Though I would often join in their mischievous trails. My elders always told me I was better than that and needed to take myself more seriously.

Yes. Most of my friends were other noble children from various noble families of Ostwick. I did befriend a few Elves I've encountered. They intrigued me.

No. I lost my virginity in my early days of settling into The Circle. More than that I will not say, other than it was magical (I'm so punny, I know).

I am a mage. I first discovered my powers when playing tag with some other kids. I was very determined to catch someone who was a considerable distance ahead of me, and I felt magical waves just glide me over to her. It was quite a shock to the other kids.

Fighting for my life as Templars tried to attack Ostwick's Circle. My fate is uncertain.

My mage peers, professors, and Enchanters.

Surviving the army of Templars who stormed Ostwick's Circle.

 

32-What is your greatest regret?

Taking my childhood for granted, when I was free.

Not much. I killed some Templars out of self defense when they attacked Ostwick's circle. I wouldn't say that's evil though. Other than that, just pranks and other antics.

I am a Mage, that alone stoops me to the level of criminal.

 

35-When was the time you were the most frightened?

When the Templar's started killed my Mage peers during their assualt.

I woke up in the middle of a lecture hall that was about to be in session in nothing but my small clothes and some ink drawings on my face and body. The night before was wild.

I wouldn't change any event per say, but I would make my younger self appreciate his freedom more, while he had it.

Those nights we'd smuggle liquor and lyrium dust from the Templar's quarters and get really f**ked up in the Fraternity quarters. Good times.

I do not know. I am practical and thinking. I don't take stock in luxuries or anything superficial. Contrary to what others may think or say, I do in fact have a sense of humor but only show it to those I trust.

Simple, but comfortable. Everyone worked together as a unit and looked out for each other. Even when I lost my parents I was not alone.

My tribe grouped around a campfire, telling tales. Strained laughter, like they had almost forgotten how.

 

17. How much schooling have you had?
No formal education. I was taught how to survive. I learned to fight, hunt and find safety in the wilderness. I learned qunlat and the common tongue, though reading didn't come until many years later.

 

18. Did you enjoy school?
There was no school to enjoy.

 

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
From the tribe. Every member had their own skill worthy of passing down to the children.

 

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
No one in particular. Everyone was admirable, all determined to live their lives and survive. They strived for happiness and personal fulfillment. They were all role models.

 

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
Just fine. They were my life as much as I was theirs.

 

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I had no aspirations. I was content.

Using my magic to prank the adults, probably. They didn't mind. But as fun as that was, I always looked forward to when we all gathered by the fire to just talk and tell stories, some true and others fiction.

I was curious, mother said it was a sign of intelligence. I was also mischievous and father said that was indicative of a creative mind. They said I would become a problem-solver with those traits, be the one people would eventually come to when in need of help.

The tribe was small and on the run. There was no room for personal and petty rivalries. We all got along. We were a family.

One of the men in my mercenary company, Meraad. We were at a bar celebrating a job well done. It was drunken, but innocent.

I am a mage and learned of my abilities at a young age, 7, I believe. It was the first time our tribe had a clash with a Qunari Arvaarad, My father was being attack, and in anger I went to push the assailant away only to instead light him ablaze. We all got away safely that day.

Part 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?

The day I left the tribe to pursue a career as a mercenary. My status as Saarebas made them a target. It was the right thing to do.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?

My mother and father. They shaped the very foundations of who I am--my values, my beliefs, my identity.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I was able to talk down a Saarebas after having killed his Arvaarad. I freed him and he went to find refuge amongst other Tal-Vashoth.

32. What is your greatest regret?
Not being strong enough to save my parents.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
Given my line of work, I have probably killed more than my fair share of innocents.

I am a mercenary.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
When I saw my mother and father cut down. I lost control, set the forest aflame in my rage. That's when I finally understood why us mages are feared.

I had gone swimming and somehow in doing so had gotten a fish impaled upon my horn. I went the whole day enduring stares from strangers until finally Anaan informed me of the dead fish I had been carrying around. The whole crew blamed him for "spoiling their fun."

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?

This is a moot point. The past cannot be changed.

38. What is your best memory?

The Valo-Kas and I heard of a slave trade in the area, we disrupted it and freed them. There was a human girl, young, barely over the age of eight. Sophie was her name. She thanked me. For the next five months she stayed with us and we taught her to fight and protect herself. Eventually Sophie was taken in by a bard, who promised to provide her safety and to train her.

39. What is your worst memory?
My parent's death. The fear in the eyes of my tribesman. It was a terrible night.

"An optimist is what a pessimist calls a realist." I believe that's a saying. I consider myself a realist, but that is subjective.

Loosing control again. Causing harm to those I wish to protect.

I am not religious.

I am unconcerned with the politics of human society.

It happens. Though, as with most thing in life, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad.

I am literally paid to kill. It is my job and I am not afforded the opportunity to speculate on whether it is right or wrong. But I will not kill children, I have made that clear to contractors and my company. If they don't want "witnesses" or "heirs" they can hire someone else.

Stripping autonomy from another being. Slavery. The Rite of Tranquility. Qamek. It's vile. I would rather die than be a puppet.

"I'm a member of the Valo-Kas so we travel all the time. We do have bases in every key place in Thedas, but it's probably for the best I didn't mention where. Everyone is...tolerable for the most part. Some I see as friends, most resent me for casting a shield around them to save their sorry hides. They wouldn't be spouting nonsense about 'honorable fighting' with an ax in their back."

"The Mage' apparently. Mercenary if you want to be vague, I know my way around a sword, but I'm also one of the few in this group who can read and cook decently. I guess I've become the closest thing to the scholar of the group after my former master died, he too was a mage and looked after the other mages of the group, when we had a lot more."

"Hectic, always on the move. My parents and I couldn't stay in one place for too long and weren't welcome almost everywhere. Me and my mother eventually 'settled down' with the company shortly after my father was killed. It was for the best since he knew how to keep my powers disciplined and mother didn't know what to do."

"Eating Nug bacon and butter bread roles on a beach in Antiva. There was a lot of laughter."

"More than people realize. My father was well education and made sure I was too. My master further educated me in not only the ways of being a mage, but in other things like 'how to be a lady'. It was rather amusing seeing him walk in a bodice."

"Swordsmanship, mostly picked it up over time since one thinks you don't need a sword if you can shoot lightening from your hands. A few friends would teach me from time to time. My mage skills partly my father to thank for my willpower. Taught me meditation and a few wise chants from both the Chant and writings of Koslun. Kept me focused and free of demons. The rest of my skills from my master. Everything else l just picked up over time, like my cooking and reading older texts."

My dad looked at me when I poked my head from under the covers and saw lightening sparking in my hair. I pointed while giggling and the lightening discharged into the air."

"That's a hard one, there were many. I would say my father's death. My life would have been much different if was still around. He would never had aloud my mother to join a mercenary group as their blacksmith."

"That's a hard one, there were many. I would say my father's death. My life would have been much different if was still around. He would never had aloud my mother to join a mercenary group as their blacksmith."

What is your greatest regret?

 

"I've...gotten a lot of good men and women killed, mostly because I'm a valuable asset. But at the same time I can't force myself to be better in only one day."

"Heh, some would say being born. I'm a large combination of everything Thedas hates, but really I've never done anything in my mind truly evil. Killing for profit you can argue counts but it's also the life I live now, what else is there."

"If you mean if I have a bounty no. I've had an assassin after me and those of the Qun when I was younger. Either outran them or they didn't live very long."

"Well, The time I was almost possessed by a rage demon. I would rather not go into the details."

"My lack of artistic talents. I've tried, really did but even I eventually admitted my stick people won't be hanging in any noble's house anytime soon."

That's was actually the first thing that popped up on my auto correct and thought "Yea she would say that!"

That is just a lot of questions to ponder.

 

I will say that after many months spent just planning out "names" for my various Inquisitors, I have settled upon their names (with one exception). Although I did come up with three potential Qunari names, I ended up actually liking the default suggestions that Bioware proffered - so I'm going to use those: [male] Kaaras Adaar; [female] Herah Adaar. (Specializations yet to be determined)

 

Having researched, categorized, poured through and ultimately discarded lists upon lists of potential names for my human, elven and dwarven characters (both male & female), I am going to keep my unique choices to myself until the game has launched and I've had time to craft their individual looks, before sharing them. Kudos to those who aren't so squeamish about getting swiped, but to each his own.

I am civil with most people, but distanced. To those whom which I've befriended, I am more open and relaxed. I've been told my attempts at humor are bad. Clearly, they just don't like being out witted or pranked.

Right now? No one in particular. I suppose Meerad would be the closest to qualify. His friendship is highly valued.

The head of the Valo-Kas. He's gone through hell, but he's still lively and optimistic.

I'm on good terms with the whole company for the most part, though I am closet with Meraad and Anaan. Meraad is fun, but impulsive. He tends to not think things through, so the others have taken to calling him "Qalaba." Anaan is the youngest and the softest. He does not yet live up to his name, so they call him, "Imekari." I call him, "Kadan."

When our leader is not present, the others look to me as such. This is not something I have actively chosen.

Depends on the definition of large and the make-up of the company. A Tal-Vashoth tribe is relatively small, but it's around 20 people. The mercenary company is a small unit of 10, but I primarily interact with 2 or 3 people at a time. Stick me amongst five strangers and I rather be alone.

Sometimes no, sometimes yes. I am who I am and I wouldn't change that. But I wish people would not regard all Qunari as aggressive beasts.

Assuming we don't have a job to complete, I like to relax. Have a drink, sit down for a read.

When my comrades trip or get their horns caught in various things. They're strong men, but terribly clumsy.

Some establishments are adamant about not wanting Qunari customers. It has lead to more than a handful of nights without food or drink. I am not resentful as it is fear that drives them. But it is offensive.

I spar. If that's out of the option, I try and meditate.

Depends on the situation. I like the thrill of spontaneity. However if we're going into a combat situation I would much prefer a general plan of action, though flexible to account for unforeseen variables.
