A vanguard with sniper rifle?
 

I like to use the Indra on my Vanguard for suppressing multiple enemies at a distance. In Priority: Earth, I always have it on hand to take out the enemies that are flanking my team. I don't use it everywhere, but it works in a pinch.

I never considered the Indra to be much of a sniper rifle. It's more like an assault rifle with a scope.

That's like of what I like about it. Coupled with incendiary rounds, and it's a pretty good machine to spray enemies with from far away. Aside from that, it has little to no penalty for biotic classes in weight.

The N7 Buzzsaw Hurricane.  Weighs nothing, kills everything.  What more could a caster class Shepard ask for?

In SP the Vindicator (even though they nerfed the hell out of it) and the Phalanx with scope and barrel. It keeps my cool downs low on caster classes.

 

But yeah, the Widow  if I'm going for a sniper build.

 

 

In MP the Particle Rifle, Arc Pistol and the Black Widow are my favourite guns.

The Mattock in 3 is lackluster at best.  The Cerberus version, the Harrier is a much better weapon.  I am also in love with the Black Widow.

For you it might be, for me it's not. It does what I want it to do.

Each of my Shepards has gone their own way as far as armory.  Could't say I've picked out a FAVORITE.

 

I'm currently having a blast as a Vanguard running with just a Talon specced with Heavy Barrel and Power Enhancer.  Almost as high (or higher) a DPS and just as large a magazine as most shotguns, plus the additional power boost.

Yeah I played a shotgun infiltrator build a while back, armed with a Scimitar and a Saber (for long-range) and cryo ammo. It was a lot of fun.

I play mostly Infiltrator, so I have to give some love for the Widow.  

 

However, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the Geth Pulse Rifle for my soldier Sheps.  Man, that's so much fun.

Cloak + Whatever power = PROFIT!

 

All powers will share Cloak's cooldown, and if cloak is broken early, you get a lower cooldown from cloak. I'd say it's decent to go with a loadout that gives you -30% recharge bonus.

Guess I don't have a specific favourite. Just whichever gun I feel like using at the time, and usually it has to be practical: accuracy, decent damage, and decent weight

 

All of that will depend on how I want to play. Normally I really hate guns with 1shot reload like claymore. Not only is this highly impractical, the reload animation is lengthy, and most weapons with 1shot reload are also the heaviest in the game. As I play fairly aggressively surrounded by enemies; those seconds are very important for killing and not dying.

 

Occasionally I like to change things and go all weapon crazy with -200% cd. But that happens rarely. Small pistols / smgs + power spamming is just so much more fun.

 

Preferred guns:

Black Widow / Javelin / Kishock

Suppressor / Carnifex / Paladin / Scorpion / Talon

Venom / Wraith / Graal / GPS / Carbine

Mattock / Lancer / Harrier / Falcon / Valkyrie

I remember this one....

After watching this vid, I tried the Krysae out again, at the spectre office shooting range. I don't think my opinion has changed, though, even if the thought of all those exploding bad guys is shiny. My soldier shep on this playthrough isn't packing a sniper or assault rifle; dressed in the tank-top and having weapons on her back is.... aesthetically displeasing to look at. Nope, she's armed with a Wraith, a Punisher (cuz it looks the most badass), and a Predator -- I like it because fast fire rate and fast reload. And the whole cutscene thing. It annoys me to see the Avenger when I'm not equipping it, but what can you do? At least with shep having the Predator on her, my immersion won't get broke so bad. 

 

*ahem* My point is, I'm probably not going to try it out in-game on this playthrough. I know I didn't like it as much as BW, or even the Valiant. That's a badass looking rifle too. I dunno, there's a few missions where having a LR attack would be nice. All shep's weapons now are mid- to short-range. I'm on Omega now, but my next plot mission is Sur'Kesh.

EDIT: First ME3 playthrough as a vanguard, I didn't understand recharge bonuses. So my shepard is equipped with 5 guns 24/7.

They severely nerfed that gun. It is merely a shell of what it once was. Now it sucks. You didn't even have to be accurate with it. You could just fire at a point in front of a group of mooks and the area of effect would take them all out. It was a bazooka. This guy was aiming. You didn't aim with the Krysae. You shot from the hip.

 

I think the best sniper in the game is the Mantis X. It's lightweight, and with the mods it packs about as much punch as a Widow. I spend many night with the absolute lowest score on Firebase White Geth Gold with my female Quarian Infiltrator spamming Sabotage and popping up to shoot this thing once in a while.

Assault Rifle: Particle Rifle. The epitome of sustained fire, and allows one to fire their lasers.
Sniper Rifle: Indra. Super light, and good for taking down mooks and bosses alike.
Shotgun: Wraith. Can be run on pretty much any class, at any range, on any target. Light enough to run on casters, or heavy barrelled for dedicated boom stick action. Plays very differently if you take the Smart choke, but with it, it's my go to gun.
SMG: Tempest. Back from Mass Effect 2, and a decent low levelled weapon.
Pistol: Paladin. The only thing I will run on my N7 Paladin.

Overall, I prefer lightweight weapons to have more control over my powers.

But I do have to say that my favorite gun was the Talon. I used a Talon V in multi-player with my vanguard. It was my "Dirty Harry" pistol. Either that or a Carnifex X on my Fury.
