The choice between "sexy" and awesome armor

I wonder how many here like me, who hate it when we're forced to wear "sexy" (not everyone agrees so called sexy armor in games is really sexy) armor in games, speak out against it but still tend to use those armors in the end. Well at least some of the time... Well?

From what I have seen DA:I features cool armor, awesome and realistic ones. But no "sexy" ones, and by that I mean revealing armor and clothes. Sure skintight clothing can be sexy to.

For me it's all about one thing - choice. Sometimes I prefer wearing full plate, like the warden commander armor in DA2, or templar armor. Sometimes I prefer something Isabela would wear. Or maybe something a desire demon would wear...

I know one thing, if and when we get modding capabilities and can mod armor and make our own meshes and textures, I will make "sexy" armor. Well probably, maybe. Or just make modern (totally non lore friendly) clothing and lingerie. heh.. Yes, one of the thing the Skyrim modding community is loved and hated for.

Thank you for reading!

MESSAGE POPULAIRE !

I'll take functional-looking armor over Rule of Sexy any day.

That's one of the things I'm really pleased about in DAI.  In most cases, the outfits seem to follow that (Iron Bull being an apparent exception)

Well, if Iron Bull can Tank while half dressed, I don't really see why the PC shouldn't be able to.

You can wear functional armor and still be sexy.

I want what's practical for on the battlefield.

But at home (Skyhold or camp, wherever), then anything goes, IMO.

I think choice is good, provided it fits with the aesthetic of the game, so I have nothing against sexy clothing conceptually.

Though I think it would have to be light armour, or mage robes, since it makes no sense otherwise.

Rather have functional and/or 'cute' amour if that makes any sense. Never understood the stupid bikini armor in some games however I also get a little bummed that the cloth part of my armor has to be dull brown all the time. The crafting system gives me promise that for part of weapons and armor that has the capacity to be realistically colorful, will be.

Also I also want to make my Clownquisition so some unrealistic color will be fun :P

Keeping all one's body parts together is also kind of sexy.

Speaking of armor, we've yet to see that many helmets in the game. Got to protect those pretty faces.

Im more of practical protection for armors but practical can be just as sexy if not more than armor that shows just boob and arse. Ex. A form fitting mesh that shows curves and body type while offerin sufficient protection, is to me "sexy"

I think functional can be flattering.

Well this isn't a JRPG for one and I'm almost positive there won't be any jiggle physics included. There also has never been the obligatory "bikini chainmail" in any of the Dragon Age games if I recall correctly. The only reason Isabela was dressed in revealing attire and little else was due to the fact of her promiscuous lifestyle and outgoing personality. I also don't believe it would be appropriate for the leader of the Inquisition to be prancing around like a stripper on the battlefield against hordes of enemies and high dragons... Mods will likely be your only salvation, if anyone is actually able to develop any on the Frostbite 3 engine. If all else fails, un-equip your armor while you walk around?

Give men functional armour while giving women bikini armour. Imo it's fair.

Awesome armor and like above, it can look appealing. What I hope is fixed is appropriate armor. Why would anyone wear heavy armor to run across an open field or do long travels in? Loghain looked very out of place in most of his scenes.

The pauldrons in DA:O bother me a lot!   It's actually the first thing I look at when looking at armor.  I always think, how would I swing a sword wearing that? To be fair, pauldrons in fantasy games tend to not look functional.

I hope there is absolutely no sexy armor in the game. The idea of "speaking out against" something and being disappointed when it no longer exists makes me shake my head.

Shirtless men, leather clad women, should be a choice, you want to wear heavy armor that's good, there should be choices, fur amor is nice in skyrim, on the women it shows midriff but is tasteful, men are shirtless, bioware needs to give you choices, same old same old is getting old

The problem with giving people choice is that some of them have terrible taste.

What's wrong with Loghain's armour? He can afford the highest quality armour thanks to his position and having a full plate is only logical.

I am kind of the same way.   I prefer choice.   I hate large clunky armor.   Almost never wear it on my main characters.   That said, I don't necessarily need 'sexy' armor either.   A full suit of shapely leather armor is the best.   I do hope there are more option than simply bath robes for mages though.   When I do use 'sexy' armor it is always on mages.   Warriors should be covered in mail and plates and that's fine, but mages should be able to just wear regular loose fitting clothing.   Why is it always a bathrobe?

I don't generally play games where there is 'no' choice but to have revealing armors, though I prefer games that give both options.    Heavy clunky armor with oversized weapons makes it feel like you are watching robots, not people.

I prefer armor that is practical but also has a certain look that decribes the wearer.Like you could tell who's who and what they are about just by their armor.

That guy on the left looks like a dbag. I would totes choose the girl.

But for the topic, I don't really care that much if there is "sexy" armor. I am against the ridiculous ones but I'm fine with ones like the dalish one. That's actually my favorite light armor design in dao(though there really is only one other).
