All in all, this is a western RPGS so it follows thoses aesthetics, if you want JRPG aesthetics then go play a JRPG, why would you expect all games to look like JRPGS or follow their design philosophy?

 

Because according to him (her?), subjective opinions does not exist and the world is divided between people who have the same taste as Kefka and the people who don't realise they have the same tastes yet.

 

Not aimed at anyone in particular, but I'm still not sure why you folks are still either 1) feeding the troll) or 2) indulging into his/her distorted view of reality where only absolute statements exist and people who don't like platekinis are Nazi prudes.

Not the armor. Just look closely at that image. I am talking about the body shapes, proportions, face details and a few more things. 

If it is a woman then ... maybe it's just a bad drawing.

The facial structure is too ambiguous for me to tell whether or not she is female. Personally, I think that she was at least intended to be female by the artist. 

 

Also, inb4 "she's just jealous of the 'bimbos' endowment". Honestly, the art looks good and I would love seeing a woman in armor like that, but if some players want to wear "silly fantasy armor" I say let 'em.

if we can have ridiculous over the top spikes and giant pauldrons that you can't see around and would crush you, I see no reason similarly fantastic feminine additions cannot be added to armor as well.  Seriously, if something is completely ridiculous as an armor addition but masculine in appearance, it's A-OK, no one gives more than a reluctant passing complaint, BUT the second armor demonstrates any feminine traits, no less, and no more impractical than these ridiculous things, it's suddenly bad.

 

Until armor stops having silly implausibly build masculine based additions, I will get seriously pissed off every time someone bitches about armor with feminine traits that are really much less implausible comparatively.

 

I'm so sick of the arbitrarily acceptable implausible crap as long as it's harsh and masculine looking...

 

The armor with harsh, masculine additions as flair exists, I just want some with some softer, feminine flair as well.  I don't think it's really that big a request.

I don't have any problems with feminine additions, I just have problems with armor with long skirt. I'm all for pretty patterns on armor. And DAO plaudrons was a pain. That's why I never use massive armor on anyone but Sten. At least it looks somewhat bearable on him, due to his large stature.

LOL, you're the one resorting to calling me names because you can't handle an honest question.  Your reaction to a picture of a woman who is a warrior is telling, as is your nasty attitude.  Get off the internet if you don't like people calling you out for pretty much freaking out about women wearing realistic armor in pictures.  Not every female character is going to wear "hot" armor, especially ones like Asha Greyjoy.  You can insult them all you like, but not everything is created for you.

See, I honestly do prefer the armours I've shown throughout this thread, the ones that you hated, so I don't know what to tell you.

 

Sorry I have a different sense of style and armour reminiscent of what would have been worn on the battlefield in history is what appeals to me. 

 

You're welcome to prefer gaudier splashier styles as shown in JRPGs, but I'm still not going to appreciate your style more.

 

Fine, you and Remmirath are together on that one. For the most part though, I see a lot of adulation and attention for Japanese game armor/style/outfits, and virtually zilch for many western games, including potentially in this instance DA:I.

 

Worldwide, it seems to me the preferences are heavily skewed and so favors their general preferability amongst people. I count myself among them, I guess. And yes, I play JRPGs all the time, I played one earlier today, I just kind of take a break and go oh I want to play a PC game or something and there's nothing. I feel like most western developers are stuck in the stone age and are heckbent on jamming meathead toughguy characters and realism down my throat no matter what.

 

Sometimes it's ok, Witcher 2 had some pretty stylish stuff in there. Saskia was all right, at least. I just wish so many people wouldn't 1. pretend that they aren't leveraging sex or sex appeal in some way and 2. not feel guilty about it. DA doesn't have to be super realistic or super stylish, it can be whatever it really wants to be, right?

 

 

In fact I got the statistics wrong, Soul Calibur V actually sold a lot more in NA/EU than Japan. I think the average western fan has more adulation and desire for J-games than even Japanese people do at this point.

Hahaha, meanwhile, I put Juggernaut massive armor on a Arcane warrior spec'd Wynne… see this is why I feel giving people choices others would consider silly is worthwhile. Then everyone can get the kind of armor they want on whichever character they choose

I think the whole point of this thread was to debate about sexy/fantasy vs realistic armor for woman and not about how attractive they are. The whole point is that it does not diminish a woman attractiveness when she wear a  more realictic armor. But than what you was talking about is .. ''how she look like a dude'' and not '' That armor look fine on her''. Why it's always turn around their attractiveness when what she is doing has nothing to do with it ?

 

It like these guy insecure around intelligent woman and always ending up with banal sexism insult. hell I was just watching a stream of USF4 .. Player .. competition. When a woman showed up everyone was talking about her ''BOOB SIZE'' and rating her on a scale of 1-10. THis stupidity is turning myself ( A hetero guy) into a feminism.

no the point is to ask for a couple of not totally practical armors because some like those. the female thing is just some some sexist idiots dragged in because you know guys can't have sexy armor it must be about women.
