I think Gaider is laughing his ass off while drinking a cup of coffee while reading this thread. :P

Thought the devs are busy doing crunch. I imagine they'd rather go look at other threads in their breaks than watch this one. Too flammable.

As long as the pictures of scantily clad cosplayers continue being shared, I support this thread.

Needs more elves.

I am going to have quoted post coming soon, but wanted to say something.

WAH!!!  Too bad! The armor we are getting is what we are getting, if you want platekini, go to that MMO, they dont have them in DA.  You can go cry in a corner and whine now. :P

What we saw already is what we have. And I love it! As most do, and the team prefers keeping the standards of DA the same as its been, pratical and realistic. If dont like it, as I said, go cry in a corner.    (mostly at Kefka, this back and forth arguing with him is stupid.)  I am surprised this thread hasnt been closed yet. I think Gaider is laughing his ass off while drinking a cup of coffee while reading this thread. :P

I'm toast, really, I am. I'm glad that you guys will enjoy the game, really. Maybe I'll even enjoy a part of it. I want us all to be friends.

And yes I'm sure a developer would be confused and laugh, especially at Alistair's plate-kini and the references to the Byzantine empire or whatever else we covered.

Comparing Zelda and DA is... well. Lame.

How about compare DA with the Witcher. Two somewhat realistic settings. Geralt doesn't wear plate. He wears leather. Want to know something else? Geralt can't take the same kind of hits that say, a heavy-armored warrior can take in DA. Why? Because he's wearing leather. They are both RPGs and both try for semi-realistic.

I wanted to say, I do like how you worded some of this. DA shouldnt be compared to Zelda, different style of games. :)  I'm snipping the rest so wont start more arguments that already settled back then. ;)

*tips hat* A fellow committed advocate for a woman's right to breastfeed publicly, I see.

Yes, memories.....   I was at Walmart, thought this lady needed assistance in front of me cause how she seemed to have trouble moving along. I found out she was breast feeding while pushing a cart to shop, uncovered as well. Interesting event. :)

As long as it's a scantily clad hero, I'm okay with this.

Spoiler

What if I attend classes in my underwear?

Can you pose for a camera too?   :P

Spoiler

Awesome posting, glad to see you come out of lurking. :)  It's a shame that was the reason you did though.

Spoiler

Terrific!  I laughed at this, and loved it! :D

Well, Gaider feasts on fan tears too. :)

I did have more posts quoted but decided not to bother with them.

Yeah, toast isnt the word for me. :)  I'm burnt, charbroiled or charcoaled. :D

You will enjoy some and not enjoy few other parts, thinking back what you thought about DAO, but we dont need to rewrite those comments again. ;)

Actually, doubt the dev's are wanting to look into this thread, moderators been pillaging posts though, I noticed that. :D

Well, at least here in Italy the leader Thing isn't necessarily true, since the person who was the prime minister (and he's still an important political leader) for years is rather famous for Not being chaste .

That must be because he wore a revealing outfit on duty all the time... because clearly anyone who doesn't never has good sex.

This isn't possible but if there was at least one character, lets just say a female mage (or whatever, a male mage, I don't care) instead of Blackwall (who seriously no one cares about), that's all into the dark arts and is half-dragon half-elf or something, dresses pretty hot and not remotely like the chaste-O-magnet Vivienne.

Head over to the Blackwall thread and you'll find a lot of people who find him very attractive (me included), and all that quite without wearing nothing but a loincloth to battle.
Head over to the Vivienne thread and you'll find a lot of people who find her dress accentuates her attractivity (excluding the horns which are somewhat controversial) (me included).

You know, long flowing silver hair or somethin, like to blow things up with meteor spells or whatever. I don't know, just something not boring, easy way to start solving the problem.

I'm actually extremely disappointed with the lack of long hair options for our Inquisitor, so yeah, I agree. However, the characters we get in DAI I find anything but boring, even from what little I know about them.

Don't forget the pulsating tainted walls made of meaty substance

And the possibility that you'd have to wade through them

Quite clearly it is natural and preferable for anyone with an unrepressed sexuality to have nothing between their skins and these walls.

I don't need armour to be sexy. It needs to be practical and make sense. However, that doesn't mean I don't want good looking armour.

There are amazing examples of that all across this thread. Both real and fictional.

If find that Mount & Blade: Warband did a good job when it comes to armour. Think they tried to make them look as real as possible, the setting having no magic and all.

There weren't really any sexy looking or that pretty armour in the game because of how close they wanted them to look like real historical armour.

If you wanted to go the sexy route though you could always fight in only your unmentionables (which wasn't really that sexy because of ugly character models), but that was only good for getting you killed very quickly.

Great game, I am playing it all the times. TBH it is the only game I play, for a long time.

There are so many mods - not just small ones, the entire new worlds - set in every possible historical period. There are fantsy worlds too.

Thanks to them, that game can't get boring.

Currently I am running 5 different campaigns with those mods:

Romance of the Three Kingdoms - China y. 220, that's "Dynasty Warriors" in M&B

Phantasy - AD&D-like

Perisno - fantasy setting, one of the best mods

1860s Old America - American civil war

1755 Old Frontier - Colonization of America, Indians etc.

Check out those mods. They are brilliant.

I just can't wait for the sequel - Mount&Blade II: Bannerlord.

When it comes to mods M&B is very generous. Anno Domini 1257 and Brytenwalda are quite solid too. Most of the mods tend to add so many things and new maps that they feel like their own games. They tend to be very demanding too, despite the old look of the game itself.

Even with its flaws I even found With Fire and Sword to be enjoyable. I remember one calling the Polish hussars lawnmowers in the game. :P

Unfortunately I don't have enough room on the PC now, so I only have the base game installed and none of the mods.

Really been spending more time on this game than any other game that I have played, it is a real gem under those not so pretty looks.

Oh and I too look forward to how Bannerlord will turn out once it is released.

It's ridiculous.

I see why they don't though. Sony and Microsoft refuse to allow AO games on their consoles I believe and that's pretty much a death sentence for any console game. :(

Many stores (wall-Mart, maybe Best Buy, and I think even Steam) refuse it too. AO rating means your game is not selling, period.

And yes, it is patently ridiculous. People being sawed in half, tortured, blown up, turned inside out? Fine and dandy. See a nipple? think of the children!!

Then again, Witcher 2 got away with it. Not that I want porn in my video games, but if you're going to show sex, show something that at least looks like actual sex. The dry-humping nonsense in DA:O and ME2 was completely silly.

Pretty much. After the SideboobGate of ME1, BioWare probably didn't want to risk it, but it's so daft to have blood splatters everywhere and monsters erupting into Vesuvian geysers of limbs and gore, you'd expect a little appropriate treatment of the sex scenes. But nope, headbutting and clothed shower touching it is!

Honestly, either have a cutaway before it happens or go the full hog and actually show something believable.

The funny thing is that while after ME1 characters tend to be partially clothed during sex scenes, or the nudity is obscured by lighting tricks or camera positioning (Liara in ME3), you get things like full frontal Banshee and the Broodmothers. There has been plenty of nudity in DA and ME, it's just that other than those ME1 sex scenes it has pretty much just been horror nudity.

I'm not necessarily saying there needs to be nudity in sex scenes. Liara's scene in ME3 was quite good for example, despite the nudity only being suggested. But I do find it odd when nudity only pops up in places where you're supposed to be disgusted by it.

Yeah, I was about to mention Liara's in ME3. If it weren't for FemShep's totally inconspicuous bra and panties, it would've been a good example of how to give the impression of sex without actually having to go "wahey vagina!".

And I found that quite odd as well! It was the same in Awakening - God help us if we saw Leliana breast, but it's okay to show The Mother's 18 pairs. (The Broodmother could potentially count as well, but... I think that's a bit too monstrous to count as human anatomy at all, iirc.)

^ I dunno, the pauldrons on the first look pretty cartoonish. The second is okay, though, sans the sword that's pretty much the same size as the person wielding it.
