The choice between "sexy" and awesome armor

When the board seems to get hung up, instead of tapping the post button again I just hit the refresh button. Seems to do the trick, if you haven't tried it already and wanna try it out.

As long as I see the "saving post..." hang under my post, I know I'm safe to refresh. But just in case I always copy my post before I refresh.

I just open a new tab in whatever subforum I was in to see if the post was posted, then close the old "hung up" tab. So far the post always seems to go through despite the tab getting hung up.

That appeals to my ultra lazy nature, and it also suggests you think ahead. I've heard that's a good thing.

And to keep this on topic, to answer the original poster... I understand the desire for more choice but I also understand the priorities designers must assign to resources. Modders are free to add, but the designers have to weigh everything and make the best mix possible. We may get more variety in outfits, and sacrifice a cool area, boss fight, or plot point.

I do wish all games came with modding kits, but from what I've read there's an expense for licensing and putting together the kit itself. People can pull off some incredible modding though, I never expected anyone to be able to mod ME3, and yet two years later I can mod in the ending I want for the game.

I don't think people should have their choices restricted one way or the other, though I do think that gratuitously revealing armour is unnecessary. I guess "sexy" is subjective. I find this sexy, but it's not revealing:

man-of-steel-01.jpg

A blow that glances off the boob plate will still be deflected towards the breastbone or the belly, which are only protected by thin chain. If you wear plate, not having any where it would be most important does not convince me.

Compare that with Cassandra, who wears a full chest plate IIRC. I think she looks rather good in it.

Still way better than revealing armor, but also still heavy in artistic license.

I think Cassandra will still be cute later on in the game.  Just not in the first part of the game.

Maybe she was in a battle with the Inquisitor and that's why her face looks that way?  Maybe over time it'll heal?

Who knows?

I think she's lovely as is. I was just making a joke at Kefkas expense.

I'm considering creating a male qunari as my third playthrough specifically to romance Cassandra.

Aye, she's my kinda woman. Would definitely make sure I was up first in the morning to make her coffee and breakfast.  ;)

I can see if Cassie used this armor, it would matter. But, with a Kryptonian that gains powers, armor is kind of a joke to them.  :)

I find that sexy myself, it doesnt seem to fit though in DA do to style. Though it looks good. :)

Chain is actually incredible good at deflecting blows and catching swords/arrows, so it does convince me. It was a staple of a lot of soldiers throughout history and across the globe for a reason.

(Also, just two more pages! We can do this!)

I don't think chain* is normally that form fitting though, unless it is made by elves that is. But it looks like it is *supposed* to be protective, which is probably the most important thing.

*It's actually a sci-fi thing not chain.

Well, if it *was* chain, it would still provide some protection.

No, not really, and it's usually backed up with cloth or leather behind it to protect against piercing attacks, since chainmail was only good against slashing. You'd still get some heavy bruising and internal bleeding if you were hit with enough force, but it would protect against being cut.

And, oh, really? I'm not huge on sci-fi, tbh - outside of games, which I mostly buy for the gameplay, I've only read a few books.

Yeah, but I could accept that in my game. It looks like armor, even if it's not a 100% realistic one. Artistic license is OK, just so long as its not taken so far that armor doesn't look like armor anymore.

EDIT: oh, right, isn't that armor worn by that women of Zod's crew in Man of Steel? In that case it's not made to deflect swords I assume.

As far as I know, chainmail is quite form fitting. Lindybeige showed a shirt he had made once on Youtube and he described it as sucking onto your body.

Something like this would be worn under your mail.

Well sci-fi is a bit of a generalisation, it's Faora-Ul from the recent Superman film Man of Steel, which was completely forgettable otherwise but anyway. I think it is supposed to be medieval inspired though.

It looks like mesh. Some sort of melded wire/metal mesh.

Ahhh. I'm not into Superman or the Avengers-verse, tbh, though I do love superhero movies in general. Thanks for the clarification. =]

I must say I liked the Elven armours in LOTR.  They looked great, and pretty functional.

I have no knowledge of the context of that armor. Where is it from?

Edit:

Question was answered above. Sorry I missed it. Thanks
