Which means 5 since leaving something out that otherwise would be there is as much effort as any other outcome. In comparison, Hawke can plausibly end up at the same one place regardless of outcome, while that does not apply to the Warden. For something that's basically a continuity teaser, that's too much effort.

I do agree that they shouldn't have done the "disappearance" in DA2. That actually takes more explaining than no mention at all. I guess they wanted to remove some possible outcomes such as the Warden King/Queens from being relevant...

To me it sound like there saying you made the wrong choice and should have done the sacrifice  because anything else is to much work.

It's not only him saying it. It's BioWare too. I made the 'wrong' choice. Every single one of their games I always end up making the 'wrong' choice. Can I please get the 'right' choice BW? Just. One. Time?

I'm not saying it. Bioware isn't saying it. it is a cost/benefit problem. You have a budget limit for the game, so if getting the Warden right costs a lot of resources, a lot of something else doesn't get made. If it costs a little, then a little of something else doesn't get made. For Hawke it was the latter. And there is *always* "something else" that's considered worthwhile and would be done if resources were less limited. No game ever gets made without desirable things that don't make it into the final version.

Also we might get to hear, or read, of the Warden. If that's done well, I don't see any problem with favoring certain decisions.

With a year delay then with a month delay you'd think they had it taken care of.

It costs no more than recycling the CC already in Inquisition and hiring two voice actors. Put them in the Warden quest line of DA:I. Have a brief moment with Morrigan or Leliana. Then go back to Amaranthine or Montsimmard. Sounds cost effective to me. Especially since they're going through the trouble of bringing back another protagonist that had a lukewarm reception.

well technically they don't even need to voice the warden at all, I don't need to here them speak because I didn't in DAO and DAA.

Indeed. Is it that hard to simply make them pass by during some epic battle? Acknowledge that they're here, let us recreate them in CC and there is no even a need to make them speak

It's possible that there was a connection between the disappearances, but they didn't disappear together.  At the end of DA2, mage!Hawke just wanted to leave.  It's possible s/he camped out at the nearest town for a few days until the protagonist magnet went off and stuff started attacking them again.  It's possible that the warden either went through the mirror with Morrigan or acted on whatever message she left behind.  Some time after that, Hawke caught wind of the rumor.

It's possible that the warden went after the Elder One (if that's our villain) directly, while Hawke went to go help with that breach situation.

There's no conclusive evidence that they are together.

I wonder how the Warden/Hawkes LI situation will be handled It is a bad situation I already know when my Hawke shows up which I dont mind but the one thing that will miff me is if he doesnt have a good reason Isabella isn't with him all the character growth will probably be retconned to fit their story. <_<

I am just saying Bioware better not pull anymore of that Jacob S*** and end Hawkes Romances off Screen or DAI will fall into the same consideration that ME3 did with me a Failure. :(

Well I wont go that far Hawk making an appearance and the Warden not making one is more an annoyance than anything especially if Hawk has some serious customizing options or some form of creation kit but it's hardly a deal breaker.

Also though Hawke may have a dominant type of personality it doesn't make them one-dimensional

My peaceful Hawke liked to joke, my jokster Hawke shouted and roared no less than joked. The only easy thing is that they have official voice actors and that's it

What people don't get is that what is more upseting about this whole thing is that there is a lot of symbolism and set up when it comes to the idea of all the previous protagonists of the series banding together for an common cause. It's the kind of stuff that happens with 1 in 1000 games, and if done right it could be one of the most legendary moments in gaming. But nope, BW just throws it outta the window. Not to mention I will also never see some proper closure when it comes to the warden and his family with Morrigan, or an royal warden and their work at the court.

Just one epic battle, Bioware. Just a couple of neutral lines of dialogue at worst. Is this that much to ask for?

Since BioWare wants Hawke to be their poster boy for their game, and they can be quite biased when it comes to favorite character. I'm afraid the Warden will get shafted on this one. I don't have anything against Hawke, but you know...because BioWare wants to put Hawke on the pedestal and kick the Warden down instead of treating both previous protagonists equally. I'm tempted to murder knife Hawke if given a chance, I may do that with a Varric's presence in the party just to spite BioWare's favorism.

We had a small taste of it in DA2, when Nathaniel and Zev turned up for the Meredith fight, and I thought that was awesome enough.  To have my Warden and Hawke fighting together would be beyond words!

I was going to be a mage in DA:I. If even end up getting this game I'll go Templar and Holy Smite Hawke into oblivion.

That's sadly, true

Well, I guess my Adaar won't have troubles killing the mage who was responsible for the mages' uprise. Willingly or not. I mean, I love my Hawke, but justice is more important, sorry, girl

You know I have this gut feeling that DAI will be looked as a failure and I dont know why but everything just seems to be rubbing fans the wrong way from the Romance options to now this business with the Warden I am afraid that even if DAI is good game Biowares past mistakes "DA2 & ME3" will be DAIs downfall.

I hope I am wrong but this Warden situation isnt helping their cause I am just saying. <_<

Eh, I'm sure it will be fine

Romances are okay, people need to realise that we have a variety and diversity we've never had before and it's fine that some LIs won't be for everyone

Now, Warden and Hawke - I just find it lazy. It's like Tali's face fiasco. Wasn' the most terrible thing on the Earth but damn that was disappointing

Well, minus my distaste for Hawke (because of BioWare's decision), I fear I'll have to kill Hawke if it's turned out that he/she is one of the trouble maker that responsible for this mess even if Varric suggest otherwise. Sorry, my storyteller friend.

I'm not going to lie, but throughout DA:II story I ran into crazed mage or complete evil blood mage more than power abusive templars. I have to admit that those templar's armors looks cool though. Maybe because I'm a fan of the knight armor more than a robe.
