I really don't think they would kill the Warden, much less off screen. True, BW has been surprising me alot these days, but I don't see it.
Maaayybee we....find some scrolls, or some cool secret thing and then....there's a point where we can send some agents out to investigate, maybe save the Warden if they're in a tricky spot? And then...we get this really detailed report on exactly what happened; where the Warden was; what they were doing there and--if you romanced Leli for example, perhaps a small, personal note to her, saying, "Hurry back when you're done with all this."
And some kick azz Loot!

You know, I'm of the opinion that I had the choice whether or not my Warden had a bitter end, and I gave some of my Warden's that choice. For the rest, they didn't get a bitter end. They got something else.
I'd be a little annoyed if the ones who made it past the bitter end only get 100% shafted now.

@monkey: What if the Warden was actually taken up into the sky be Cerberus - reprogrammed to think his/her name is Commander Shepard - and then was sent to fight the Reapers?
OMG - that sounds SO good... amIright?

The final scene is of the Warden appearing out of nowhere on the back of a dragon, saying how disappointed they are in Thedas for blowing up. They were only away a couple of years. A couple of years - and everyone goes insane.
"But we had Hawke!"
"Oh yeah, great. Recruit the idiot who helped blow up Kirkwall." SIIIIGH. "Alright, hop on everyone. We got stuff to do."

Anyone think that the Warden will atleast be helping the inquisition off camera?
That's what I'm hoping for :3
In this case don't you think it's kinda odd that he/she never visit the Skyhold even once just to see how Leliana is doing, assuming you romance her in DAO of course. ![]()

Well shoot. That answers that.

HoF really won't come back? At all? Regardless of is he alive or not?
You won't see him in-game, no.
Ahh....You see I feel he/she should be in the game because it's such an impasse in the timeline and it's been 10 years, we want to know what our Warden has been up to. Everybody and their mother is coming back from Origins, why not the Warden?

To be positive and keep hope alive, there could be a DLC like Witch Hunt (but longer, a lot longer) where you have to search for The Hero Of Ferelden and or Grey Warden secrets of their exploits. Or at least in some expansion. I still feel the Warden will be in DAI some how.

Probably for the best that they don't show our Wardens. Hawke makes more sense to show up because of how the storyline was constructed in DA2 and because Hawke was voice acted. I would find it a bit odd to all of a sudden hear a voice for my warden. If I saw my warden from a distance with may be their love interest or something that would be more fitting in my opinion.

That removes one possible problem. Good. Since I really don't think they'll kill the Warden off-screen, I think I can stop being worried now. Good.
As for Hawke, I'd actually find it hilarious if they continued being the catalyst for bad stuff happening. Remember, that does not reflect badly on them in any way, it's just dumb bad luck. As long as they fight back with some measure of success, I'd like it. Whatever you think of DA2's outcome, that both Meredith and Orsino are gone, I call that a measure of success.

Since my Warden is the Queen of Ferelden (also works for male Cousland rulers ofc) I often head canon her and Alistair arriving at Vivienne's party, seen from a distance, Vivienne explaining who they are etc... there will be masks... You can speak to Alistair later without the Warden, she's otherwise indisposed etc. But my guess is...meh I dunno what my guess is, they have plans I'm sure...

That's one thing I'd like about the Warden more than Hawke though, that blank spot allow you to projectile yourself (or part of it) into the character and make him/her a unique character. It also easier to role-play and people feel like they have real connection with their character. While Hawke has to stick with three sets of personality.
I agree that the Warden was easier to roleplay, but that is exactly what contributes to the difficulty of remaking them for DAI. There are just too many writing pitfalls. They'd have to give the Wardens a voice to start with, if they're going to say anything, and that's a pitfall already.

While I would have loved to see a reunion between my warden and Leliana, I'm not sad he won't appear. So long as we atleast get an explanation about their disappearance, I'm happy.
Remember that this game is about the Inquisitor.

That's very true
having Hawke back in kinda breaks my inquisitor immersion
Especially when my Hawke looks like me

Wait wait...correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think we were giving any choice on where the Warden will go after DAA, and usually the Warden will return to their love interest that it...until BioWare get their hands on our character. In DAO epilogue perhaps since you get the option to stay with the wardens or depart for your own journey but I always thought it was temporary.
