I did not say you would not find out what happened to the DAO Warden. I said they receive more than passing reference, and there is a story involving them, but you would not see them appear personally in-game.
At least there's resolution?

there there it will be alright *passes tissues and booze* write all the fanfix and art til your content
At least the boss gave us a reason... bit easier to swallow
*sniff*
Well, I actually did come up with a comic idea (a parody one) in which Cassandra and Lelianna actually do find Hawke and the Warden and they team up with the Inquisitor. Heck, even most of companions also return (unless dead or gone, obv) and help the Inquisition
Hilary ensues
Now I only need to know the full story of DA:I to adapt the comic to it and actually become a decent artist
Hahahah, that's not so hard, is it?
*crazy glance*
Hmm, intriguing. Definitely interested in what that story brings and how it will talk about my Warden.
I was beginning to wonder if the Warden would become 'The Stig' of Thedas history.
"Some say..."
I would kinda enjoy that

A couple of things, to clarify without giving away much in the way of spoilers:
The Warden of DAO will not be seen in-game, as you already know.
He/she is more than simply mentioned in passing, however. There is some story, though I won't say more than that.
If you were expecting DAI to be "the continued adventures of the DAO Warden", however, then no, it will definitely not be that. I feel quite comfortable in saying that will never happen, sorry.
I don't think anyone is asking for the story to revolve around the Warden. I think they just want his continued existence to matter, and maybe see him somewhere once so they know if he's doing okay or not.
However, if you don't mind, I feel I must engage in one of my favorite hobbies. Inventing Crackpot theories.
Obviously, when the Warden next appears it'll be so far into his Calling that he'll look entirely Darkspawn, and similar to how the Architect is known by no other name than "The Architect", the Warden will now refer to himself by no other title but "The Warden".
You will find him leading a faction of Darkspawn that he has awakened with his blood. Or not. Details aren't always the point of the crackpot theory.

Thank you for the clarification. i'll wait and see, than. ![]()

For being such a kind person you deserve it for free
Plus I'm not sure I can sell art of Bioware's characters without some lawyers' biting my tail XD
okay, jokes aside, I'm more or less okay with that, better than nothing, g'night to ya'll folk
Depends on what you consider resolution. As near as I can tell, some folks seem to think that anything short of death is the equivalent of a cliffhanger.
So our Warden isn't dying, then
So our Warden isn't dying, then
How would he eventually become the Warden of the Darkspawn if he died?

A Warden retirement home in the Anderfels is out of the question then? Fair enough. A story with some inquisitive gum-shoeing sounds reasonable.
it would appear not nor anyway we can kill him... but who in the 9hells is that warden in the EOT trailerSo our Warden isn't dying, then

Alright thanks closure is important especially with that cliffhanger in DA2 (that the Warden along with Hawke disappeared)
We don't need to know every last bit of his post Origins/Awakening life but that has to be resolved

If you really want to play the game where anything I don't directly say can be taken as confirmation, feel free. You may end up disappointed. I'll neither confirm nor deny anything further, however—you'll see exactly what I mean when you play the game.
possibly but im wiling to gice BW the benifit of the doubt to avoid flying off the handle againAn tease to crush all our hopes and dreams.
The Warden will die anyways, no one escapes the Calling except for Fiona but I doubt the Warden could pull that trick.

That was not a cliffhanger.
It was, at best, an unresolved plot point. You might also call it "sequel bait", if you prefer, but a cliffhanger is where the central conflict of the story is left unresolved pending the next chapter--and is generally done in dramatic fashion to leave you "hanging" in anticipation.
Wanting every lingering question answered is understandable, but that does not make it a cliffhanger. And, yes, I know that is pedantic of me, but I work with words, so there you go.

As I said, when next we see him he'll be so far into his calling that he will appear as the mysterious intelligent Darkspawn know only as "The Warden".
There is your answer.

He's pretty much a dead man walking anyhow, but so long as it works narrative wise I'm game. Bring it on
!

Ever consider giving us one last go controlling our Warden? I think taking our Warden on their last quest which ends with them taking the Calling could be an interesting possibility.
Also, on a side note, I was thinking about the voice/no voice debate for future appearances (if any). Though I'm a fan of seeing our Warden return with a VA for them (like Sean Bean or James Purefoy if I can dream lol), I think a good compromise that could suit many would be if they had a voice that was able to be muted by players in the options menu, but regardless of whether muted or not the Warden would still physically act out the conversation.
such wit and craft messere you are quite right lol XDThat was not a cliffhanger.

I just hope the Warden doesn't die before/during DA:I (if that happens I will be at the very least disappointed) some time after is fine, because he/she is a warden the Calling is coming and that's a fact.
Never the less what we get to know about the Warden in DA:I will probably be worth read/hearing about, even if we may not like the outcome of it.
