Comparing Cassandra who is stubborn, loyal (to the chantry or at least what it stands/stood for), holds no particular hatred towards mages and was willing to listen to reason, to Meredith who was an extremist zealot hellbent on dominating and/or killing all mages before the red lyrium idol turned her into a psychopathic, extremist, zealot with freaky magic powers hellbent on killing all mages is shortsighted and pointlessly stubborn.

The best thing I can say at this point is that if you are really so sure about your presumptuous views of DAI is that you're in for a pleasant surprise.

nope she was hating mages and have mostly exact same story as Meredith do...the differense that Meredith have mage sister and Cassandra does not

Meredith do everything what Petrice with Elthina and Cullen allows her and she get lyrium later and her madness was not stoped because of Elthina and Cullen who support her and allows her to do what she is do even than many Templars captains as Trask oppose her

the difference with her and Cassandra is only that Cassandra was not a commander of Circle but a personal agent/killer of Divine as Lelianna...and if you not forget Seekers do some right of anulment before full rebellion of Fionna

Again with the misinformation?

How can you argue invalid points without a healthy dose of misinformation?

Can I get a source for Cass' hating mages please?

Because the way I remember it (I only played DA2 a week ago so I could be wrong) she expresses admiration for Mage Hawke on several occasions, including calling his actions romantic at one point.

This really annoys me. Don't get me wrong OP, you are more than entitled to your opinion, and so are your friends, but the truth of the matter is we dont know what these characters are gonna be like yet. Josephine is entirely new as a character and we only know Cass from a professional point of view. We have know idea what shes like when shes not working. Love/romance should be whats inside, not outside.

I fully intend to romance Cass for my 1st playthrough, and have wanted to do it since Cass was revealed to be a party member. But when I play the game, I may find that i'm more attracted to Josephine, or even go down the Gay route and decide that i'd rather my Inquisitor romance Dorian or the Iron Bull. I have no way of knowing until I play the game, and nor does anyone whose already writing the romances off.

Thats my mini rant over. If ive caused offense I apologize, i just get frustrated seeing stuff like this.

In regards to the OP, I get what you're saying but I think you're looking at it the wrong way. When you buy DAI you are buying an epic dark fantasy rpg/adventure, you should view romances as an optional extra, not a main selling point for the game.

When she was a little girl, her beloved older brother Anthony was murdered by blood mages. They needed a dragon for their rituals, so they tried to kidnap a dragon hunter, and Anthony was the best. During the struggle, Cassandra watched a blood mage on horseback decapitate him. Since then she has had a hatred for all mages - maleficar or not.

If Hawke had bested the Qunari Arishok in single combat, she remarks that the tale sounds very romantic...one of the problem with Hawke that mostly noone was know and and do not say that He was a Blood Mage

I think we managed to go a week without a new "female Lis are ugly" thread.

Then the OP just had to make this. Tut tut.

And people can't change as they grow older and experience life? Her having a distrust of mages wouldn't be that surprising but again, in DA2 she shows distaste for Hawke's actions, not his class. As I said she shows admiration for Hawke on several occasions, his class as mage or not has no effect on this. And when answering questions about how companions view each other, the devs stated that Cass respects Viviane. You don't respect something you hate.

Hello. After seeing the new romance options for hetro male char's, I was wondering if you'd make romance DLC. In my opinion, they're too masculine or unattractive. Many friends I know agree with me, which is kinda sad since previous versions of existing char's are more attrative. I believe there are only two or three you can romance. Which is a low number. So, since I and many others won't be using the romance feature in DA:I, I was wondering if you'd have it as DLC and knock off $5-$10 the price of the game. Thanks.

Yeah they need to make a DLC with 3 male love interests.  1 should be lilianna if your warden didn't romance her, 1 should be isolde, 1 should be some HOT new character as good looking as ashley in ME3.  That would complete this games love interests on a good note.

For the record I would smash Flemeth so hard....her personality and confidence is attractive and she can have this whenever she wants it.  Great body for being "mature" as well.  Favorite thing about her is that little laugh/chuckle she does in convos.

Well, she kisses a mage in the end of DotS, her hatred obviously wasn't burning so bright as before already then... and it was enough years ago to diminish it further.

It cannot be said enough.  I can't stand short hair on girls....one of my biggest turn offs and even I thought Cassandra was hot in DA2.  What they did to her AND Morrigan in DAI is an abomination.

Cassandra also gets over this hatred of mages in the exact same movie you are referring to, which happens 18 years before her interrogation of Varric.

And yet she isn't like that at the end of DoTS, or her other appearances

Soooo argument invalid

yeah entire life of serving Orlais Chantry as Templar and Seeker is change her to be zealot mages and heretics killer...and nothing can change that, her entire life was being what she is.

Wow! I really didn't expect this much attention. I have read all of your posts, and I appreciate all the constructive criticism. Thank you for taking time on replying to my post, but I'm still not seeing your side of the argument. Well, I wouldn't call it an argument, but you know what I mean. One poster suggested that a large sample size of men found the two romance options attractive. I'm sorry, but I can not agree. The majority of men are attracted to feminine looking women, about in their mid to late 20's, and with a healthy body to weight ratio. Now of course there are going to be some variances to a degree.

Another poster suggested that the preferences men have is because of pop culture. This is partly true, but biology plays a much bigger role in this. I'm not trying to take away anyone's sexual preferences away. I'd just wish Bioware had more options and handled this in a more responsibly way. To add, more body options would have been nice as well.

As a poster suggested, I sound spoiled. Well that may be the case, but aren't we all in some way? I work hard at a labor intensive job to make ends meat. I know it's only a game, but I like to get the most bang out of my buck. I don't think anyone would pay for an option they do not want on their car or house. So, that's why I made this post, so people could "opted out" if they didn't want to spend their money on a mechanic of the game they're not intrested in. Again, thank you.

sigh, biology also tells us that humans are incredibly complex and diverse. Please don't use biology to group all men together, it's rather insulting.

You can't pick and choose what facts to use. If you use her brothers murder at the hands of bloodmages you also need to take into account the metric f#ckton of evidence that shows that she got over her hatred of mages.
