Is auto-attack in the game? Yeah, it can be toggled on PC and on console it works by holding one of the triggers. I believe Laidlaw had it toggled off in the recent demo.
By any chance were you still going to post the Vallaslin "translations"? :-)
I started putting it together but then people got all excited about it. I'll post whatever they're making when it's ready.

They seemed spot on to me, but it's true that they were never confirmed by a dev. I'd prefer they focus on the current designs, however, since this the first time they've been willing to divulge any info...

That was one of the main reasons I liked playing as elves, so I must say that my spirit has been dampened a bit...

Apparently the companions have unique body models. Sera may be a particularly tall elf. I remember that the elven Inquisitor from the last Twitch demo was shorter than Cassandra, if that helps at all?

I was thinking that they might have made the male elf taller than the female, but I we'll see... I won't switch to human over this since I don't really like the background story for the human mage. It's just a minor annoyance, that's all.
Elf Females aren't that much shorter than Human Females, maybe 1 head. In that video Cassandra and Fem Quisitor are in the party along with Iron Bull, minus Bull who else would be that much taller than Sera? I'll one step further and say the difference is even less, perhaps even 1/2 a head difference in size, as Fem Elf Quisitor lined up pretty decently with Cassandra in the latest vid.

Solas might be a freak of nature, i haven't really seen much video of him.
Check the "Hero of Thedas" trailer, and pause the scene where he stand near the Inquisitor in front of Skyhold.

I'm seriously rethinking my decision to romance Solas in my first playthrough... 
This vid shows off the character creator with a female elf, and it shows off a bunch of Vallaslin! 
(And apparently the female elf default name is Ellana! )
Looks like a lot of those are re-designs of the originals from DA:O.
Alsooo, for those of you that were wishing for the "Elgar'nan" vallaslin...looks like you got your wish! ;D
There was also a version of this one that was just the vine/thorn motif, for those that like the design (and the potential link to Elgar'nan) but not the near-solid color on one half of the face. Nice! If I get some time I'll do more screen captures, since the guy doing the video scrolled through them pretty quickly.
EDIT: Okay okay, so I made the time to do some screenies between classes instead of work on my papers.... Here's an updated list of the vallaslin we've seen thus far. The ones that appear to be simplified/complex versions of each other have been condensed into a single image.
As an added note, it appears that the opacity of the vallaslin is determined by the "Tattoo Design" slider. An odd choice, but it can't be helped.
