This is a bar fight, people. With nothing but fists.
I'm sure Hawke could take down an elf in a fist fight. Human or dwarf Warden might present more of a challenge though.

Clint Eastwood. Make my day
Warden
Between my Warden and Hawke? It's a really tough call. My City Elf, being more aggressive and street-ish, has more experience with brawls, and they've also got the experience of a solo-fought war, and a solo-fought Archdemon behind them. They might just be waaaay too strong for their own good being a Reaver, Berserker, and Spirit Warrior. They ARE a warrior, though, compared to my Hawke, who's a rogue. Hawke has agility that pretty much surpasses my Warden, but he doesn't have the stamina or strength to last too long, so unless he ends it quickly, it's the Warden's fight to win. Hawke is a bit more of a genius, though, as far as battlefield weaponry and viability goes, even inside of a bar. If Hawke used his tools correctly, he'd beat out the Warden easily since he was an assassin and a duelist. The loser buys drinks for two.
Elf, or no, my Warden would beat Hawke down, so it's a battle of wits for the poor guy if he's looking to save some gold.

My Warden was an elf, and she actually had a higher strength stat than my Hawke. Plus, she wouldn't fight clean. I mean, sand in the eyes, Below the Belt kick to the nards, and then a few good cuffs to the weak points. Warden still wins. :S
George W. Bush. He has strategery on his side.

I think this just shows that the question can't truly be answered, since everyone's Warden and Hawke are different.
*My* Hawke would totally take down *my* Warden.

If you don't break a pool cue over someone's head, is it really a bar fight?
Meh, Qunari Inquisitor would send them both running home with their tails between their legs.
In a typical bar fight? Well, ingenuity would have to come into play as well as regular fighting stats. But still, Warden wins. Blood Mage/Force Mage Hawke could prove to be a challenge, though.
In a regular fight? Again, Warden. Archer Hawke and Blood Mage/Force Mage Hawke could be a challenge, but the Warden can kill a high dragon, 'kill' Flemeth, and kill the archdemon. The most Hawke can claim is killing a high dragon. Really, the Warden has more experience than Hawke in fighting many different types of enemies. From woodland critters and darkspawn to high dragons and pride demons and everything in between. Hawke does have experience fighting wyverns, though that's more of an Orlesian thing anyway.
The only reason Hawke won anything was because he was a PC....a dull idiotic, lame, weak PC....but a PC.
Warden wins with just "the look" you know the one. (not that he could talk anyways)
RIP to the great Bernie Mac.
Hawke falls over dead.
How is this even a question? The Warden all the way.
Depends on the Wardens involved. And the Hawkes. Most of my Hawkes could take Chuck the Warden to the cleaners, bring him home with his cleaned clothes, push him in the mud, and then take him back to the cleaners.
Chuck the Warden wasn't exactly my most shining playthrough.
That being said, my dead Casteless Warden, assuming she lived, could have schooled all my Hawkes, all my lesser Wardens, and the Arcane Mage Orlesian thresher-of-puny-enemies that took her place in DA:A. At once.

My money is on the Warden 2/3rds of the time.
Mage Warden beats Mage Hawke/
Rogue Hawke beats Rogue Warrior
Warrior Warden beats Warrior Hawke
Now what if the Inquisitor is thrown into the mix?
The warden.
She beat her expansion pack after all ![]()
A wild Gorion's Ward appears!
Everyone gets wrecked!
But who is this??? A new contester!
Drogan Droganson's Pupil!
As Gorion's Ward and DD's Pupil fight, the universe explodes in the sheer awesomeness that follows.
Girl (Note: this is in jest, as you may not be female), if you throw my Inquisitor in there, the bar's not going to be standing.
I'm playing a chews-on-rocks-spits-out-nails Carta gal in her early 40s, made entirely of cast iron, gumption, dubious dwarven swears and whiskey fumes. My wardens and Hawkes are going to look like a bunch of punk kids in comparison.
A drinking contest then! My Dwarven Warden has more constitution and can beat Hawke anytime.
Noble or Commoner? What if I say that my dwarven warden can beat your dwarven warden at a drinking contest!!
Hawke cause s/he has the awesome button

Now what if the Inquisitor is thrown into the mix?
The three of them would have a Thedas shattering.........................
threesome.

My Hawke and Warden wouldn't fight, they would party.
Inquisitor added, would be a giant party. ![]()

Of course they would, and they would invite the Inquisitor too for a spit roast party.....
