Can Bioware please be more careful with their promotional material? These mistakes need to stop.

Again, my attitude has to be...so what?

Are you part of EAs quality control?

The bow string does look silly, but why are you concerned by the supposed lack of professionalism from biowares artists?

JFC obviously Sera just woke up to FADESPLOSION and didn't have time to get her quiver on right or get her bow where it needed to be before they snapped the picture.

The next one on the roll is her all frustrated and twisting the quiver around and getting her wits about her because she just has to live in Thedas where **** like fadesplosions happen on the regular. And they very well couldn't use that one, could they?

You know she could easily be crouching down to shoot the bow vertically.

She is already bending with her knees. so she isn't standing in a possession to fire the bow in a standard aim.

Of all the things to huff and puff about on the BSN, bowstrings in art is not one of them.

Bioware makes these promotional images for the 99% of normal people who care about things looking cool, not the tiny fraction of archery grognards.

This is silly. It doesn't ruin anything.

Actually, now that I look, there's a third issue too - the arrow is resting on the bow's left side. Surely if she drew and nocked the arrow with her right hand, it would rest against the bow's right side?

Cannot unsee...  :o  :(

You hate to be Mr. Nitpick, but you certainly powered through it huh, hahahah

Yeah, some have noticed those mistakes, but taking this stance is a bit overdramatic, I think. Sure, it's wrong, everyone had an eyeroll and a laugh, but that's it. They didn't do it on purpose, and it doesn't hurt their game in any way. Everyone makes mistakes that go unnoticed like this, even in big companies like Bioware.

I tried, op I really tried but I couldn't find a single one to give.  Did I notice it? Yes, it's was mildly annoying if I actually take the time out of my day to think about it.  Frankly I find this post more annoying I probably should just ignore it but late night insomnia will do things to ya.

Here's another one for the OCD perfectionists

Note the floating guy to middle left. What is this floating guy doing? Do we know his motives? Is he floating in protest of future artistic mistakes? Probably. Only the floating man can answer these questions.

Floaty guy is standing on something.

Sure the Bowstring is on the wrong side of the arm. It doesnt detract from the great looking picture.

Might also be worth pointing out that she has a demented right thumb, just so you can't unsee that.

I don't suppose the OP actually ever tried reaching back to draw from an imaginary quiver.

It doesn't really make that much of a difference if you're drawing right over your right shoulder or reaching over your left.

So the OP also mentioned he understands and can deal with clipping in games but seems to want them to fix clipping in trailers? That kind of request is nonsense because it would be the same as the despised bull shots other developers create. I much rather see developers show the true game in trailers over downright lying, ie Watch Dogs but also GTA V old gen bull shots.

YES!!

If those mother¤¤¤¤s at Bioware screw another bowstring picture they deserve to be burned at the stake! You have only one chance now, you hear me Gaider, Laidlaw and others?!

Also burn that Sera-Witch who holds her bow so wrong.

The only thing that realllly put me of was the obe pic of Vivienne with her staff in that snow region. Dat clipping.

But I really couldn't care less about the bowstring.

While obviously a joke, I'd still remove the profanity. I hear mods can be twitchy with that stuff. And not for the wrong reasons, too.

As many others have already pointed out, this is hardly a deal breaker for anyone looking to buy the game. It's mildly annoying, I suppose, and I certainly had a laugh when I realized what was wrong with the bowstring, but thats it. Mistakes happen. If you're going to allow one little thing like that distract you from how great this poster/picture is, then you might be a bit too obsessed with it. My friend is an aspiring artist in graphic design, and he was floored by how great all of the pictures were (especially Dorian, Solas, and Blackwall).

He did laugh for quite a while about the bowstring as well, though. But that's about the extent of it

Sera's misplacing her bow string is little of consequence to Vivienne's bulge. Glad I cant romance her now.  :P   (I'm laughing about that as well, both are humorous.)

To be fair that seems to be an issue with the lighting and some of the materiel in the Frostbite engine.  Femquisitor has/had some nice shadowing going on at the Dragon Age website to make all the men in the room envious.

And since we are on oddities now there was also at least one other picture with a random floating person in it.  Might have been more I believe one of the devs said it was a issue with the way they did screenshots.

What I don't understand is that hand cup thingy in the bow, wouldn't it make the arrow fly in an angle with respect to the bow?

I'm thinking its just the way the shirt is sitting on Vivienne to make that appearance. Honestly, those pictures don't bother me. I find them interesting and fun.
