it is definitely the junk item thingy.

what a complete waste of effort looting a corpse only to find absolutely useless items. at least in DAO, all items have something written about them.

Well the junk items themselves might have been annoying, but I really liked the inventory management for dealing with junk items and loot in general. Being able to move things into the junk tab and then sell all of it in one go was SO NICE. I always find myself wishing for that whenever I play DAO.

There were a number of things in DA2 that I hope not to ever see again.   Junk items is definitely up there.   Also don't forget the Quasi-fetch quests.   Oh look I just found a Paragon's toe lying here in the middle of no where.    I know exactly the dwarf to take this too back in the city!    Yeah, those quests were mind-numbingly out of place.

There's more than one: horrible writing, bad quest design, tedious combat, copy-paste dungeons.

They've already addressed my main complaints.

This.

The lack of tactical combat mode was my biggest beef with DA2.

I see any no horrible writing. A rushed end but not horrible writing.

I definitely don't want to see another cliffhanger ending with no variety and a disappearing hero.

If Hawke or Varric don't reference the repeating environments at least once I'm going to be a little depressed.

Things I hope never to see again:

1.) Playersexual characters - Just write the characters, give them their orientations, let people whine about it and have done. I'd rather them be allowed to be who they are rather than allow us to decide who they are and try to write around that possibility.

2.) The CAVE ... - OK, I agree with the poster who says it can put in an appearance for nostalgia value, but only if I get to destroy it in leaving. And the environments in general shouldn't recycle unless I actually am visiting the same place twice.

3.) Better time management in the writing - 10 years passed in Kirkwall, and the only one of your companions who had any actual development was Aveline? If it hadn't been for her having a life, the game would have seemed like a matter of weeks instead of actual years. I hope the writers do a better job of giving a sense that time actually is passing in the correct scale in DA:I.

4.) Better subtlety in writing - I loathed Anders' quest in act III. I knew as soon as he asked me that he was building a bomb. If you are going to pull the wool over our eyes with one of the companions ... Please, please, do a better job of disguising it. Yes, there are people in the world who do know the main ingredients of gun powder, BioWare!

No I see any horrible writing. A rushed end but not horrible writing.

Yes, it was bad. Among other things, DA2 practically spat on the adage of good story-telling, "Show, don't tell". Characters were poorly developed, and some were walking cliches.

I like Merril and Varric - they are interesting and funny.

Sebastian on the other hand is a walking self-righteous, selfish, stupid, boring bas**** and I hope they write him off the game.

You can see a more detailed description of the consequences of your choice. The content of the line remains hidden.

And that doesn't solve the problem at all.  I don't care how characters react to what I say, I want what I say to be in my control.  Most of the paraphrases aren't even close, and many are contradictory.

Most everyone has mentioned all the things that ruined DA2...

So I guess I'll say that I don't want the crap Darkspawn design or their Power Ranger enemy movements. The first time I saw Darkspawn in DA2, I darn near flipped my lid.

This weren't Darkspawn! They were skeletons with matching shiny armor. I restarted the game a few times to make sure it wasn't just me. The. I was waiting for the Emissary that was summoning the skeletons to appear so I could kill it.

Main things I don't want to see back from 2 are being forced to help/agree with someone, even if its in a DLC.

Also, the person we were forced to help/agree with.

Other than that, we already know the reused environments aren't coming back.  Not much has been said about the ending since before the delay, but it does sound like there will be more to it than 'choose A or B (but A=B)'.

The only thing I do not want returning from DA2 are companions even remotely like Anders. Talk about being the worst of every human male lead Biotrope character packed into one (the whininess of Carth, the childish-ness of Alistair, the self-righteousness of Anomen). Not to mention a romance formulated around emotional blackmail (I still say he used Hawke). Only redeeming quality was the end part really.

(This coming from someone who liked him in Awakening)

My only ones are the reused dungeons and the endless wave spawning.

Everything else from DA2 I welcome with open arms.

While I agree he was a highly dislikeable character, I wouldn't say he was an unbeliveable one. Given his backstory and circumstances, the character that has resulted is not unexepcted. And, as odd as it might seem, I love having characters I dislike in the game. It makes it feel more realistic - after all, I sure as hell don't like everyone I've met in reality...
