Yes, it was bad. Among other things, DA2 practically spat on the adage of good story-telling, "Show, don't tell". Characters were poorly developed, and some were walking cliches.

Walking cliches. Did you play dao, it has way more cliches in it than da2. Added, da2 did show, we were in the middle  of the conflict for goodness sake. Added, how are the character poorly developed, they have valid reasons to be the way they are and what they did and most you can only no agree with their actions. No agreeing does not mean badly done characters. Each character were made to be humanly flawed, nothing is wrong with that story wise.

Playersexuality, and I'm glad that's not returning in DAI.

I may be wrong in thinking what this is (I think its where people just say this bi-sexual is actually straight/gay because the character I'm playing is male/female and gay/straight). Wouldn't people just do that anyway with the bisexual characters?

My impression was player sexuality was done by players as opposed to the devs themselves

Playersexuality means "everyone sleeps with the PC regardless of their gender [and in some cases race]". It's basically saying that everyone is bisexual, except it also adds an implication that the character's tastes wouldn't run in that way except for the PC. Anders for example, really comes across as being more interested in men. But, he'll make an exception for fHawke. Now, in DA:I, companions will have their own tastes and sexual preferences.

DA2 really isn't as horrible a game that folks make it out to be imo. When you understand that the concept is not about a hero stopping a world threat like the Blight and more of just living a life in the world of Thedas. Never understood why players expected it to be the "job" of Hawke to right all the wrongs of Kirkwall. How he is a failure in somes eyes is beyond me.

The guy/gal is just caught up in the sessions of events happening leading up to DAI. What being said while I loved the combat fast paced system(Dao's was boring to me unless I played a mage) the wave combat doesn't need to make an appearance again. DAI looks like an ideal Bioware game so I'm not worried.

Yeah, what issues I have with DA2 are due to the game being rushed. The basic design and storytelling in it are great. It just really needed a few more months development time to get everything up to the quality they deserved.

Focus on consoles rather than PC. I'm not one of those PC elitists, but the series started with a PC focus, and honestly, a series like this (and KOTOR) just seems made for a mouse.

Unfortunately money talks and most plebs play on consoles. I tried playing dragon age at a friend's house on a console, lasted 10 minutes. The feeling of keyboard + mouse is unrivaled not only in reactiveness, control and options but also in comfort. Some people complained "Keyboard + mouse is horrible!" when playing dark souls 1+2, I found this also to be untrue.

Ive never understood the console attraction. I would compare it to having sex using your own hand or with another human being :P

That said I understand people are different. To each their own, this is simply my opinion.

Just one question,

Companions would be able to wear armour this time right? I hate it when i cannot dress my companions in new armour.

I used to like dressing Alistair as Warden Commander and Morrigan as a Chantry Sister.

The new customization video today showed someone changing Varric's clothes.

I don't want to see the explosion of vitriol that hit the forums post release. Genuine complaints or not, people got waaaay too wound up about things. Calling for resignations/firing of various people.

I also don't want to see the Cave. But I know that I won't, so I'm all good on that score.

Yes, this always happens post release.  ALWAYS.  I've personally seen it going back to BG2.

My plan is to leave the first of November and not come back until...hmmmm...maybe late January unless there's something I just REALLY need help on and think only the forums would have the answer to.

What I don't want to see return is the inability to render your characters weaponless. In DA2 everyone was armed no matter what. Want your mage to drop that ugly, cumbersome staff and shoot lightening from their fingertips? Too bad!

The thing I hate most about da2 is seeing a fabulous game that wasn't delivered on because of time. I really loved it, but some of it was seeing past the flaws and sometimes seeing what wasn't quite there. Da3 sounds like a game they took their time on and will be more complete...so whether I like it or not, I won't be stuck with the "we could have it aaaaallllll"s.

It also would've made it a little easier to suspend disbelief regarding Hawke getting away with being an apostate.  I suppose there're still the thousands of charred corpses in the streets of Kirkwall, though.

I loved DA2. Considering how quickly they had to throw that game out, I thought it was amazing. <3

There was only 1 thing that drove me nuts: not being able to change my companion's armor/clothing! They were in the same rags for 7-10 years while my Hawke was always dressed in the most fashionable and well made clothing and armor. I felt really bad for all of them, and definitely got sick of looking at all of them in the same stuff. :P At least Anders got a color change at the end.

worst are those threatening to kill their children. Poor Jennifer.

come on people, it is just a game. you may not like the direction and it is your right to express your disappointment but not tdemanding for resignation and threatening innocent parties like the developers' children!!!

I thought Dragon Age: Origins was nearly perfect. 9 out of 10. But then DA2 tried so hard to distance itself and be different from DA:O, and it really turned me off. The combat animations different. The combat abilities were different. The art style was different. The GUI was different. The journal was different. The items lacked descriptions. The stats were different. The companion system was different. The conversation system was different. The character faces were either hideous or beautiful, depending on who we're talking about. And so on, and so on. I wanted to puke. They took one of my favorite games and spat on it.

To make matters worse, from what I can see, Inquisition appears to take more from "Dragon Age II" than from "Dragon Age: Origins". If so, that will be a great tragedy.
