We have no idea how Hawke is going to show up. Might wait with the homicide plans for awhile?

Yup' we have no idea how the Hawke mission will play out, but as you said it's very possible for Hawke and the Inquisitor to have very different personalities and agendas, so I think bioware is aware of this possibility and you at the very least will have the option of telling Hawke to get lost.

I would like there to be an option for people who make new threads, to use correct grammar and spelling.

I'll be interested to see what my character is expected to know of Hawke.  I mean, Hawke was the Champion of Kirkwall, and thus a famous figure, but (for instance) the Dalish are unlikely to know much of them.  What would the qunari have heard?  Would a Carta dwarf have had better sources of real information? My noble from Ostwick might know more, I suppose.  From Cassandra's interrogation of Varric, Hawke's actions - especially around the Annulment of the Circle there - was surrounded by rumors and tall tales, so even my noblewoman may have heard a very distorted version of the events.

My characters won't be taking action without knowing what's what, either way.

I shure hope so.

When we let Hawke help us, he will most likely start two simultanious blights and a war against the qunari while trying to solve the quest to find a lost door key in skyhold or something.

Okay, I admit that the "and shut up" at the end cracked me up.

Just wondering, have you ever started a topic that wasn't just opposing Hawke being in the game?

More like he turns up in the middle of a terrible situation (two blights and a war against the qunari, perhaps) and because he gets dragged into it and doesn't save the day by bringing peace to all mankind, people bizarrely think he caused it.

Hawke is probably going to be a great ally whosr name carries serious weight. Plus (s)he's worth keeping around just for the Varric and Cassandra dialogue that's sure to impress.

Inquisitor:  What do you think those people are doing up there?

Varric:  Well I'll be a nug's sweet pink bottom... that's Hawke!  We really should get up there.

Inquistor:  Why, they're just talking.

Varric:  Hawke is a walking disaster - you really don't want him trying to "do" anything.  It'll only turn out bad.

Inquisitor:  Excuse me, Hawke is it?  What are you doing?

Hawke:  OH, hey Varric!  Just trying to get these townspeople to let me store these dragon eggs I stole from a High Dragon.

Varric:  WHAT?!

Inquisitor: You killed the High Dragon of course.. before taking her eggs and trying to sell them to these townspeople.

Hawke:  No, why?

*ROAR*

Varric:  I told you Inquisitor.

I would like there to be an option for people to stop acting like elitist and just realize that this is the internet where much casual discussion goes on. This isn't a MBA or PHD online forum. We aren't here to present peer reviewed work.

You get what the dude is saying. Just move on....it isn't that serious.....

I'm not gonna reject Hawke because I love my Hawke, but he also had a hand in slaughtering Merrill's clan and I'm planning on playing a Dalish Inquisitor. SOOOO. Mm, look at that potential drama.

I doubt my Inquisitor will know enough about Hawke to justify killing him on the spot. I mean, 7+ years of being a famous name in Kirkwall and no one there seemed to notice he was a Blood Mage...

Hopefully my Inquisitor won't be as clueless as the population of Kirkwall. But she still won't turn down someone who is a big name in mage support, even if he is an opposing personality to hers.

Why do people hate Hawke, again? I'm confused.

Because they didn't like the game (fair enough) and blame it on the character?

Because he had a voice? (Seriously).

Because he was a human, and couldn't be any other race?

Because people felt he had too much established character, and wasn't just a blank canvas for them to paint how they wanted?

Because there were things in the game that he couldn't change?

Because he was just a guy who was trying to cope with all the crappy situations that kept getting thrown at him, instead of a world-altering God who could outright decide everything that happened in His world?

Because the choices in his game were more about deciding how he reacted to events, his attitude, and his relationship with his friends, rather than choosing the specific outcomes of major world events?

Because they already decided they wanted to be Their Warden?

Basically pick from the above, mix & match style. Replace "He" with "She" if necessary.

Oh. All the reasons I liked Hawke, then... (Well I could take or leave Human only and voiced).

Got it. That's sad.

It's unlikely your qunari inquisitor will be angry at hawke for killing the arishok due to the fact that the qunari inquisitor is a tal-vashoth.

Hawke didn't start anything.  His/her main gift was the ability to survive, no matter what the game threw at them.
