Nothing odd about it. They only recently seem to have started the optimzation process. They can't give us the requirements until they actually have tested different setups and know the requirements. They haven't been sitting on the requirements for all this time just so for the heck of it.

I also wonder why the requirements are a big deal to you specifically. I recall you posting about buying an X99 mainboard with an i7 6 cores processor. Not exactly the type of specs you will have to wonder about if it is enough with it being high end hardware.

Am holding off on the x99 build untill i can get two evga gtx 970's i want to  buy it all at once

I am buying a new rig and sadly I am on a low budget this time around (my first gaming pc had a budget of $5,000) this time around I have only around $1,000 budget and thats pushing it more like $800-850  .

 

So I am looking a this rig and wonder how it stacks up right now.

They are releasing middle November. 18th plus standard deviation for other continents to be precise. Game system requirements are usually published around three to four weeks prior to game release. They already work on releasing them for this week, which if met would still mean five weeks prior to official release. That is above average.

Pardon my ignorance but I thought once the game was finished and had gone through QA and certification then the requirements would be available. Or are we not there yet?

They are not there yet. That particular stage is the game going gold (i.e.: ready to be sent out to disk pressing). Game requirements CAN be nailed down sooner if the QA found little variation in performance stability and depending on what they may still want to change for the game at that point, but rule of thumb is a game going gold is about the time when system requirements are finalized enough to publish.
