After all, buying newer pcs/updating pcs to meet newer standards is not cheap. I can imagine someone spending a decent amount of cash to update/buy a pc only to find out that the pc still doesn't meet requirements. That individual will probably be frustrated that they wasted all of that effort and money only to fall short anyway.

Marketing shadiness effects this release as well.  Nvidia has a new line of cards out they want to sell.  AMD as well.  If you consider the cards the majority of pc users have in their machines right now, if those newer models offer something, anything, even something minor in DA:I like triple tessellation optimization, there's a TON of money involved in what they decide to release here.

but they say "PC Gameplay".  It says so on the thread titles, which people can't edit....

When they show the same kind of game play vids with KB&M only then will I call it "PC Gameplay"...... <_<

I mean, all the guy has to do is add the words, "with Controller" to his thread title.

guys! patience!

The best example I have ever heard of someone wanting instant gratification was from Randy Quaid, “Please God! We need a cab! One lousy fuckin' cab!”

I honestly did not think it would take this long. They must be having a difficult time with the PC version.

Nah, they just want to keep us in panic mode.

They make their coffee from our tears......they need lots of coffee at this point, hence the need for making fan tears.

They said this week. It is still this week. When it is no longer this week, then we can start jumping to conclusions.

Sort of a tangent, but I honestly have to wonder if actually, finally, having the PC requirements will be worth a hoot. A lot of recent games have had their "recommended" specs exaggerated, like Bethesda claiming one needs 4gb of vram just to play The Evil Within in 1080p/30 fps. I think BF4's specs were also inflated... correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm not calling anyone "dishonest" here, I'm just voicing an opinion. That, and not everyone has the tons of cash to get a card with 4gb vram, which everyone and their dog seems to "recommend" now.

Recommended specs aren't very useful.  At least not with some sort clarification as to what performance you should be getting from them.

Minimum specs are.  If only because if I meet them I can reasonably ask for a refund if it turns out not to run on my aging PC.

Minimum specs will probably be similar to BF4 but that doesn't mean it won't run below them. I can run BF4 on a 2.1ghz Dual-Core with 2 gb RAM and an entry level 1gb GPU (slightly OC'ed). Low settings and 720p sure, but it runs at a playable and smooth frame rate.

Same thing with the new Alien Isolation which also states that it requires a 4gb RAM at minimum and yet it only uses up a max of 1gb at medium settings. Then again I always have 1.5-6 gigs of ram free in my windows 8.1 (only vital system apps running in the background). :D

However, if the minimum req ask for something silly like 6 gigs of ram and a quad core then that will be a sure tell sign of a poorly optimized game (see: Watch Dogs) - which would be new for Bioware, in my experience. And I see nothing in DA:I that would indicate it is an improvement over BF4 (which I believe started development around the same time DA:I did), on the contrary actually, It should be less demanding.

True, but how much time do you need to do an upgrade? A little shopping time, three or four days waiting for the components to arrive, and plugging it in, which is a few hours tops and may be just minutes.

That aside, if someone already decided to upgrade and his chosen system doesn't meet the requirements, what are the chances his budget would magically increase to the point where he could afford a system more powerful (and conversely: more expensive)?

In truth, knowing the system requirements is only vital for people who are on the fence about upgrading their current system and around three to four weeks between the system requirements release and the game release is enough time to get some new parts or even assemble an entirely new system.

What if the reason it's taking them so long to announce it is cause it requires a $2000 computer to run decently? :o

If thatt was the case it would make announcing both min and max requirements a lot easier.

BF 4 is probbly the best we can go by now for min and max.

And if they are doing pc gameplay for keyboard and mouse on the 13th has mention, think that is the reason we won't see requirements now at-least not till after the stream bleh

Oh wow.  So they are delaying the "cool PC info" till Monday then?  I figured they would still announce the specs and stuff this week, like tomorrow, then do the stream on Monday.

No just my predictions that they will do that announcement along with the stream, would make sense is all.

Edit: Plus get the feeling frostbite 3 is giving them more trouble then they thought for working across many pc specs, after all did the same for BF 4 at release.

There's no evidence of that.

Optimization is an ongoing process. Every day they spend improves the game's performance a little bit (generally speaking). If they wait longer to release the specs, they can release them with greater confidence.

For example (and I'm aware this isn't true in this case, but it's just a hypothetical example), suppose they were testing on Vista, but weren't sure yet if they could get it to work adequately. If they release the specs and say Win7 or higher, all the Vista die-hards go away and BioWare loses those sales. But if they say Vista or higher, and then Vista ultimately doesn't work, they've angered a bunch of people.

So they're going to wait until they're confident that they're being as inclusive as they can be without making any false promises.

It's not a linear scale.

If the game will benefit from a really big GPU, a buyer might choose to downgrade his CPU to free up resources for that GPU. Particularly if the change allows him to alter his cooling system as well.

Or maybe he realises he needs to switch to an AMD CPU to save money, but that requires more cooling, so now he needs a different case, too.

There are lots of variables. You're over-simplifying it.

Anyone still waiting for the exciting PC news? They said NEWS, right, with a plural.

I have heard nothing as of yet.
