I am not sure about the evil withins specs, the whole release was like he is how we play you test for the rest.

But sure bioware will be more then that, so sort of bad to compare other game releases with this one. Not all of them have lived up to what the devs said.

The only game we can compare DAI to would be BF4 due to the fact both games are running on the Frostbite 3 engine. That alone gives us enough information to determine the system requirements are likely to be identical or consist of minute differences at best.

i hope so, that would mean i can run it on low on my laptop and wont be forced to play on the tower at home...

And know the simple GTX 770 hanfdles that well, sort of expecting DA:I to be less dammanding due to somethings being missing but we will see. Just none of those high graphic flashes and jets and tanks going around and landscapes and buildings falling apart will be less dammanding all around. At-least I think.

Edit: And it not being online.

I'm positive you'll be able to run the game on your laptop on low settings if you can do that with BF4. It certainly won't be pretty... but it's generally easy to run a game once you disable all the bells and whistles.

Exactly. The GTX 770 was overkill for BF4 and DAI isn't doing anything as ambitious or taxing to the GPU compared to what BF4 did. Part of the problem with marketing graphics cards is Nvidia and AMD are always encouraging consumers to upgrade. The truth of the matter is games generally are years behind the hardware due to console limitations and the fact developers try to maintain what the majority of players can handle. Nvidia and AMD have made it a business where they can increase the polygon count of their GPUs by 33% every year and they will continue to do so to make a profit.

Do you need the latest card with an insane amount of VRAM to be able to run any of these games currently on the market? No way. Will they try to convince you that you need to spend $500 just to stay ahead of the crowd? Absolutely. If you are paying $500 or more for a GPU, you are probably ripping yourself off. There is a difference between future-proofing and just having your money stolen.

But the graphics will be like NWN2's for you! I'm not saying NWN2 has bad graphics, but...

Well, I plan to get a new PC in a couple of months, and I can't decide if I should build my own or not. If I decide to build one, I have a friend who can help me, but I'm very uncomfortable with the idea. It just seems like so many things could go horribly wrong.

Anyway, I want to run Inquisition as perfectly as I can on high settings. I also want a PC that will be able to easily handle future games for years to come. So given all of that, what kind of CPU and graphics cards should I be looking at?

eh, BF4 looked pretty good on low-medium

If you know what your doing or have a nice computer shop near you, custom builds are always better and normally easier to upgrade since you know all the parts and so on, imho and from what I have been told.

Here you go: go have some fun

If you intend on future-proofing a rig, I'd recommend looking into an I7 4790K CPU (liquid cooled).  Combine that with a NVidia GTX 760 and you will more than likely quite satisfied for a few years to come.

Plz change thread title to "So where are the PC system requirements?"

The current syntax has me believing the linearity of time to be entirely inverted and that the requirements were released it's just that time freaked out and hid them from us.

Depends on your budget. Also depends on how far you want to future proof.

An i5 or i7 processor and a GTX 770 or better are probably good starting points.

Just may have to wait for back orders most places currently I hear.

Also notice it doesn't have a massive power draw some of the current cards have, less power use is always a good thing.

Those are what I had in mind. And I'd like to keep the budget around $1000, at max, but I'm not sure if that's possible.

That's certainly reasonable for a high-end PC, although that would cripple how future-proof it could possibly be.

Well, I guess I could upgrade certain parts as time passes.

So what do you guys think of this particular PC? I don't like the GTX 750, but the rest seems fine.

That's more than sufficient. It will allow you to play games on high/ultra settings and it's well within your budget. The only thing that would need upgrading anytime soon would potentially be the GPU.

That's good to hear. I might try to build something like this, but include a GTX 770 instead. Or if I get too overwhelmed, I might just buy this one.

Either way. If you go the latter, replacing graphics cards is extremely simple. All you have to do is unscrew the GPU from your tower, detach the graphics card from your motherboard, and you are done. I'm not sure what size that case was for the computer to linked, but you'll want to make sure you have a tower large enough, as high-end GPUs are large and require space. A medium-sized tower is sufficient.

So you think this would be the easiest choice? Buy this PC, and replace the graphics card at a later time?

If you don't want to deal with the labor of building the PC yourself, it's certainly not a bad way to go.

How would a GTX 750 handle Battlefield 4? Obviously, this should allow us to predict Inquisition's performance on that Asus PC.

The GTX 750 is more or less on par with the GTX 660, if not slightly worse. The recommended settings for Battlefield 4 are a GTX 660 or higher, so you'd probably have issue playing the game on ultra settings seamlessly.

Well, Ultra would be nice, but High is a requirement for me. I'm very eager for BioWare to release the system requirements...
