We all have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of DA:I and its highly anticipated MP. We have discussed things from the nuances of the gameplay to possible DLC character classes (my list of possible characters can be found here) but I haven't seen any threads about what we would like to see as far as maps and game scenarios go.

So with that in mind, I would like to make a thread where we can discuss and brainstorm some ideas we would like to see in terms of level design, and gameplay features.

My request would be a 'siege' gametype added to the DAMP at some point, and I envision this mode having an offensive and defensive variant to it.

EDIT:

Allright I have been thinking and I don't think that there is going to be any large creature bossfights in DAMP on release, so I would like to suggest:

Okay I have thought it over and thanks to VilhoDog13 I have come up with a new game type that I wouldn't mind seeing added to DAMP in the form of DLC.

I like this and it shouldn't be too hard to implement since it is almost exactly how it is played now. Even the final section of the current multiplayer is similar to the defense in that when you raise a flag an enemy wave or two attacks you from another area. Similar to horde 2.0.

Maybe this will be one of the free MP DLCs they have promised us.

I like this idea, a lot. I would love to be able to hunt and defeat spoilery creatures with friends.

However, based on how they have described the way DAMP functions now, this might have to wait for major DLC overhaul territory:

As DAMP stands now, the randomized areas draw from a group of set areas which are rearranged and populated by different encounter types to create "new" experiences each time. To create a singular open space would require abandoning this model, at least for this game mode. I think it would be cool, and possible, for the team to handcraft a set larger map and then just randomize encounters, but it would require a paradigm shift in how the game mode is designed currently.

Some of this super-baddie take down supposedly does occur within the structure of the current game. Judging by the demo descriptions, the final encounter is some big boss type enemy, supported by numerous waves of minions, which requires full party team work to defeat and survive. So some of this itch may already be scratched.

Still, give me the chance to hunt down the illusory dracus with my friends in its native habitat and I will love you forever, BioWare... Forever!

I like the ideas so far Vortex13, keep 'em coming.

Yeah, in all likelihood this type of content would require a pretty substantial DLC pack to fully realize; something at least comparable to the Collector DLC for  ME 3 MP. Still I think that BioWare could pull something like this off, especially since they are going to be supporting DAMP with content longer than ME 3.

Now the shift from a randomized series of rooms to a large open area would be drastic, but it is something that I feel needs to happen with the MP in the long run as there are only so many 'tile sets' we can run though before the dungeon mechanic begins to get old. Not to say that I would hate to see new types of dungeon tiles, its just that DAMP should include game types that are completely different in order to keep the co-op play refreshing.

As far as the current DAMP bosses are concerned, yes its true that you would get some measure of the grueling intensity present in SP dragon fights, but nowhere close to the intensity of battling an actual dragon with your team. The current dungeon bosses (from what I have read on them), I picture them as well … dungeon bosses; you and your group fight through the dungeon, kill the boss and his adds and collect your loot. The boss for the Great Hunt idea would be more akin to a Raid Boss; something that doesn't need adds to up the difficulty of taking it out, something that is the sole focus of the run, instead of being an obstacle in it.

Both types of encounters would be fun to play, but like you said, nothing would quite measure up to taking out a flipping DRAGON with you and your team.

They could do it and I like the idea. Some of the dunguen areas are pretty open and big. I could easily see a dragon size creature fitting in there.

Fun. They should also add some kind of "retrieve X item" -- although I'm sure it'd be the same type of game mode.

Another mode, team cooperation: maybe the team of four should be divided into two (you get to choose before hand who goes with who). They start at opposite ends and the team A has to unlock a door for the team B and vice versa. Each room there'd be enemies and eventually the two teams would meet up and there'd be a boss fight.

I really like this idea, maybe something to do with breaking out of a prison or keep…. hmm. I am going to brainstorm on this for a bit and post another game mode concept.

Thanks again for the inspiration.

There are some great ideas on this one.

I would like to see an "ESCAPE" type of scenario listed. Where either the party has to escape of the map in X time, or there are spawning enemies that have to escape and we have to stop them.

I would envision if it is the party having to escape, we start on a part of the map and realize there is an overpowering force of enemy X (Say Red Templars) in route to destroy inquisition forces. The Agents have the job of having to cover the retreat of the Inquisition forces. The enemies real goal is to destroy inquisition forces. The Agents are trying to thwart that.

Similarly, if we are the force wiping out the enemy. They have a location that spawns common scrub units. Those units HAVE to escape off the map. In addition, there is a high level Boss like monster defending them. There would be a dynamic of killing enough enemy scrub units to achieve the victory condition. With the offset being the enemy Boss if not respected, could ruin the day for the Agents.

It is not exactly horde mode, and depending on the map type, could be interesting in terms of how you move around. There are opportunities to split forces, having competing job assignments etc. I would see this type of scenario taking place on an outdoor map, or a map with a town setting.

I´ll play MP as long as communication is not required it looks fun but I just cannot understand when others talk through a headset (playing on ps4) Seems like I have to leave MP alone  :(

Good ideas though

If don't like to talk in MP then you should really get it on PC. On PC people hardly ever talk in ME3MP.

Good ideas though

95% of the people never talked in me 3 mp. heck probably about 76% never had a mic attached.  The importance of percevied need for a mic will disappear wuick enough.

It's just for funsies- communicating.

Although, I'm sure it makes some things easier. In DA I think it'd be more important since it's far more team based. But even still, it's just for fun.
