I usually imagine Grunt, Wrex and Jack doing whatever they can to get to the Citadel to find Shepard (or what's left of him).
At first my thoughts revolved around Jack firing Grunt and Wrex toward the Citadel via a giant gun. (The look on Jack's face would be priceless.)
I then mused what would happen if they somehow got hold of a Saturn V rocket until the Krogan-in-the-Other-Room pointed out that "Wrex don't need no stinking rocket" and would simply strap a F1 engine to his back. ![]()

My headcanon ending is a sort of watered-down Synthesis, where the "upgrades" are all inactive at first and people can choose whether or not to attempt using them. After the Reapers withdraw from the battle at Earth, they transmit a message to all the survivors explaining what exactly has happened and what Shepard did and offering to help with reconstruction. People are naturally suspicious at first and hesitant to activate the upgrades, fearing that this could be a trick to indoctrinate everybody, but some of the most seriously wounded from the recent battles decide to take a chance and switch them on, and the medical staff report that the upgrades do seem to be accelerating the effects of treatment and natural healing, while the patients themselves all seem to agree that they're finding it unusually easy to process and retain information.
All of the political and military leaders who were actually present in the Sol System (such as Hackett, Victus, and Wrex) meet on the Citadel, which is short on power in the areas where the energy beams initiated but still intact and functioning, to discuss what to do next, and it is agreed that a group of healthy volunteers will have their upgrades activated under close observation at Huerta Memorial's research wing. Shiala, who had come to the Citadel with the Zhu's Hope refugees and is so far the only known "survivor" of indoctrination, initiates mental links with the volunteers to verify that they are not indoctrinated, and the same relatively benign effects reported by wounded soldiers are observed in the volunteers.
After considerable debate, the leaders respond to the Reaper communication and ask that a single Reaper be sent to Earth under heavy guard and escort by the combined fleets, still not sure if they can completely trust the offer. The Reapers agree, and eventually they are integrated into the reconstruction process in all sectors of the galaxy. All attempts to recover a direct record of what happened between Shepard and the Catalyst, however, fail - the surveillance feeds in that area of the Citadel mysteriously went blank just after Shepard collapsed near the control panel, and the Reapers all say that the Catalyst's final communication indicated what happened but did not transmit any audio or video records, and the Catalyst itself is no longer communicating and cannot be found anywhere in the Citadel's systems.
The Council is expanded to incorporate all spacefaring races in recognition of the combined efforts to defend the galaxy with the exception of the vorcha, who are still too divided among themselves to choose a representative. Wrex represents the krogan while the relays are being repaired, but it is agreed that he will return to Tuchanka with Bakara taking his place once that is possible. Shala'Raan is chosen as the quarian representative. (The rest of the species all pick someone we don't know from the three games.)
The ME2 crew members are stuck on Earth for the time being, while the Normandy crew, once they get the ship repaired, are trying to help with reconstruction in the system where they crash-landed. After the relays are repaired and the dust settles:
- Jack, Jacob, and James all return to the roles they'd been playing with the Alliance, with James initiated into the N7 program.
- Kasumi, who simply didn't turn up at roll call for the Crucible project staff one day, says her final goodbye to Keiji via the graybox. Although she was granted amnesty for her various thefts in return for her help on the project, she isn't heard from very often and seems to prefer the low profile.
- Javik is also lying low, visiting the final resting places of his friends and family from the prothean empire and showing little interest in the public hype surrounding the "last Prothean," though he does agree to be a source for...
- Liara, who returns to academia as a documentarian of the Reaper War, with the Spectres assuming responsibility for her information network.
- Tali becomes a sort of special advisor and unofficial deputy to Raan, seeing as she has arguably the most significant experience in working with other species of any quarian alive.
- Garrus is appointed the head of a new joint turian-krogan military academy for elite soldiers, established to cement the newfound cooperation between the two species. Grunt is one of the more popular and entertaining "guest lecturers."
- Kaidan assumes command of the Normandy, with Joker, EDI, and Chakwas continuing as part of the crew. EDI becomes the first AI ever granted a formal commission by an organic species' military.
- Miranda negotiates terms for other Cerberus operatives who want to "come in from the cold" after fleeing the organization or being indoctrinated into following TIM during the war, and is working as an independent scientist.
- Samara is granted leave to retire from the justicars to spend her remaining years with Falere and her family when it's discovered that the synthetic upgrades can reverse the ardat-yakshi condition. Morinth, who escaped from Omega in my playthrough, was turned into a banshee and killed in battle before the Synthesis pulse.
- Mordin and Legion both get krogan memorial-style commemorative statues on Tuchanka and Rannoch - Mordin's at the site of the now-destroyed Shroud, Legion's at the remains of the Reaper base.

Shepard retires to a colony world with Ash where they have a bunch of kids and open a shooting range.
The geth devote the next several decades ranging out to distant mass relays, getting the network up and running that much faster.
Wrex and Eve keep the krigan civilized long enough for it to actually take. Grunt busts some heads for them.
Joker and EDI stay in a relationship, though it stays platonic out of necessity.
Vega becomes an N7 and the next commander of the Normandy.
Liara and Javik write their book, then never speak again.

Conrad, Jenna, Khalisah, the batarian preacher, and the volus pizza dude team up and find the still-alive shep in the citadel rubble. Conrad is distraught and refuses to leave her side, so Jenna and the batarian run off in search of medical help, while Khalisah and the pizza dude try to find a still-functional skycar. While everyone is gone, Conrad cleans the dirt and blood and grime off shep's face, talking the whole time about how the reapers are dead and she saved everyone and she can't die and everything's a mess. He fails to notice a large gang of vorcha looters heading his way until it's almost too late. Although terrified, he asks himself what shep would do, and prepares to hold them off. As they are about to attack, officer Eddie Lang appears with his trusty M-8 Avenger and a handful of frag grenades, and saves both Conrad and shep until help arrives.
Everyone returns at the same time; Jenna and the preacher with Dr. Michel (who survived the coup attempt even though she's never seen again
) and the guy who looks just like Darner Vosque. Meanwhile Khalisah and the pizza dude have found a skycar and return, where they very carefully load shep into the car and take her back to what's left of Huerta Memorial, where they stabilize her, but can't bring her back to consciousness because something crucial is missing, something to do with her implants.
Conrad talks about having joined Cerberus, where he got into one of their databases with his omni-tool because he wanted to find every bit of info about shep that he could, like any proper number-one-fan, and he came across co-ordinates for the place where shep was resurrected the first time. The pizza dude says he knows where there's a ship that could take them, but Dr. michel insists that shep can't possibly be moved.
So, accompanied by Conrad and Jenna, the pizza dude finds the ship's crew: Kargesh and Rukar (the two presidium fish krogan), the crazy asari commando from tiptree, Marab (the salarian Saronis Applications sales clerk) and Lia'Vael nar Ulnay (the alleged credit chit thief) -- and hire them. The whole team, which now includes Dr. Vosque, then flies off in search of Lazarus Station and the tech that will save shep. Along the way they have many adventures and when they arrive at Lazarus Station, they find that Wilson didn't really die when he was shot by Miranda, and is now in control of Lazarus Station and a veritable army of 'mechs, and he's not going to give up the Lazarus info without a fight.

Feel free to imagine that the exotic materia is blue-skinned and physics encompass bodily activity. It does sound more exciting then.

The volus finally get a spot on the Council, but their councilor's seat is filled only briefly when he is assassinated by an elcor extremist. His replacement hires drell assassins as her personal bodyguards.
Balak, the few ships in his fleet that survive the war, and the survivors aboard the Citadel comprise the known population of batarians left in the galaxy. As both access and communications to the Harsa system are cut off seemingly indefinitely with likely no way for rebuilding of the relay network from that end to commence, Khar'shan will remain only a memory for years to come.
The krogan clans grow stronger exponentially, giving Wrex a run for his money. The risk for full-on civil war is high. The turians and salarians will keep an eye on them during the rebuilding process, but for the moment, they pose a greater threat to themselves than to what remains of the galactic community, as they still rely on turian, volus or human transports. The Urdnot clan leader's petition for colonization rights have been put on hold for the duration of the rebuilding process, much to Wrex's frustration. Grunt, on the other hand, is itching for a fight.
With the losses the main mercenary groups suffered participating in the reaper war, including the deaths of both Darner Vosque and Sayn, the vacuum of power has left Aria in total control over the Omega nebula for the moment, with Gryll providing support.
Conrad Verner's studies on reaper technology from the salvaged reaper corpses on earth and the relay system has led him to breakthroughs in starship design. Relay travel may one day be rendered obsolete.
The turians are secretly running a program with the sole purpose of one day venturing out into dark space, using what they've learned from the reaper ship designs, in which the goal is to hunt for and destroy any remaining reapers that may have survived the war, or simply never left the void. Similar plans are in store for the Leviathan. Officially the Council races have declared that they be left in peace, but cautions all to stay away from any system potentially flagged for their presence. Unofficially, orders are to terminate any remaining Leviathan, and all orbs destroyed on sight.

Shepard and Ashley live together a grassy terrain next to the ocean and have several children.
Shepard and Garrus do go to a bar together.
Besides that...they all lived happily ever after...?

My paragon John (Default) Shepard died after picking the green ending,I'm to lazy to spell synthesis or what ever. Left the galaxy in good shape...to bad for Miranda who's now single. 3 games did everything (all missions) paragon style, can't say I'm disappointed with the results. As for my Renegade Shepard last time I saw him he was a giant reaper. Can't wait for the next game. The waiting is the worse part.

Conrad Verner is on the team that finds femshep in the rubble. After that, he marries Jenna and with help from femshep, writes a book titled, 'Shepard's Number 1 Fan'. It becomes a bestseller. He sells over 5 billion copies galaxy wide. With all the credits he received, he helps in funding projects for children that have lost family members during the war.
He and his wife, Jenna, have 3 children and at times can be seen having lunch with femshep and her family

The first weeks;
Thousands die from starvation, disease and dehydration. Due to the infrastructure of Earth being shattered. Clean water and food are being exchanged for tokens for VIPs, and not at all to those of lower social status. Crime and looting runs rampant.
Infighting between the victorious races lead to minor skirmishes and incidents. Disagreement on how to get the relay system back up. Disagreement on what to do with the husk of the Citadel. No clear vision, and everyone trying to give their race a head start, through lies and deceit. Salvaging of derelict Reaper and Geth ships is chaotic and improvised.
"We can rebuild all that was lost", does not mean it will actually BE built.
After a brief memorial, the crew of the Normandy return triumphantly and celebrate. Shepard quickly forgotten in the light of a new day.
After a few months, the first salvage teams make it to the ruins of the Citadel to evaluate. Salvage, or rebuild. Human remains are found, some of the most notable ones are, through DNA tests, confirmed to be Shepard and Anderson. Autopsies reveal that both bled out. Traces of stress hormones and adrenaline levels suggest Shepard died painfully and slowly.
As months pass, civilization is restored. The different races begin anew. The survivors thrive and forge a new future. Yay
This may have been a bit over the top....

I have never actually thought about what happens after the ending, it's just not something I do to be honest, whether it's with books, games, movies etc, headcannon isn't my thing.
The stargazer scene, rumoured to be 10,000 years in the future due to some datamining, is the furthest point that I ever think about the series.
