I know this may not be where to post this. But I just wanted to see if any of you feel that femshep is lacking in the emotion department? Just for the fun of it I tried a maleshep and he seemed more emotional when it came to things happening to ashley. I mean aren't women suppose to be more emotional or did I miss something?

Definitely how people interpret the acting. But, I'm not as familiar with the Ashely related stuff off-hand.
I actually find a male Shepard more flat on his emotions than a female Shepard in most scenes. But it really is personal taste, how lines are setup, and how you, as a player, hear them.

Well for me I am disappointed now. Male shep gets more dialogue and emotion with LI than the femshep. It sucks. I always thought femshep should be more emotional at hospital and she is not. Maleshep blew it out of the water with emotion.

I find that MShep has better voice acting personally, as you stated he has more emotion. I am not surprised really when you look at the fact that he is probably considered the default gender for Shepard. It took until ME3 to get a Femshep on the cover of the game. Femshep to me always felt low and flat, like the actor was just reading a book. Which is a little strange as I liked her in KOTOR, but of course that character was different to Shepard.
It's probably why I always play with MShep even though in other games I mainly play female characters if given a choice.

This is weird to me, because in other parts of the forum, one particular complaint that stood out to me was that FemShep often had too much emotion in her lines. I guess this is all a matter of perspective and how one interprets the way the actors read their lines. Personally, I found that throughout the trilogy, M!Shep's lines were mostly flat and steady, changing in tone mostly when choosing more aggressive or sarcastic dialogue.

I actually prefered Femshep in the first 2 games but in the 3rd I like maleshep better. I found that femsheps voice acting got pretty bad in ME3.

Full Renegade FemShep in ME2 will explain to you why FemShep is superior.

I tend to make my Shepard Paragade since I like to play around with dialogue wheels and Shepard became a much more complex person than a full morality Shepard. While I do think ME1 and ME2 FemShepard as emotionally distant but I reasoned its due to her upbringing and the emotional trauma suffered in her life which suited my canon Colonist/Sole Survivor Shep. One of the best FemShep reaction in ME1 was when Colonist Shepard had to persuade Talitha to take the sedative. Every dialogue option in that quest was filled with Shepard exposing her painful past to another and in the end, you can see that Shepard herself hid that side of her with her Commander Shepard persona.

I like both but for different playthroughs. Renegade femshep is great, paragon broshep is also great. In contrast, renegade broshep comes across as a psycho. I haven't done a paragon femshep though.
