I think people should start complaining if when we can't mod the game/characters. But my main concern right now is that the game better be good. All the hair in the world isn't going to do any good if the game play doesn't live up to the hype.
Please rethink qunari hairs.. or lack of them!

Personally, I'm not upset. Granted, I probably won't play a Qunari for a while, so I'm not overly invested in them, but still.
As I see it, the developers (largely due, I suspect, to resource limitations and clipping issues) were considering horns and hair together, not separate, which I think is fair. Maybe there will be more in the future.

This is only slightly off topic, but as for hair in general - will they fix the texture? It didn't look like it had much texture to it - like it was slapped on like play-dough. I noticed this especially in the beards.

Yep.
I'm just at the "screw this I'm going human til mods fix this." mode.
Go Elf instead.

They seem to be going for a less feminine vibe to the Qunari females. I mean, just look at the chiseled, angular planes of their faces. They look like exotic antelopes or something with those horns and short hair. Very striking and imposing.
Too bad this fierce look will clash strongly with their flimsy delicate walking and running animations.

Not everyone plays on a g.d. PC. In fact, a lot of us play on consoles.
I understand that but I was adding that in for people who do play on PC. Your options will likely get doubled because it's probably going to be easy to mod it depending on some things. In any case, do you think this CC has more depth than either CC from the first 2 games? If you do then what were your expectations because it's already better than the first 2...

Hell no elf is dalish.
If it was CE I'd jumped to the elf ship so fast. But they're not. So nope. Human boat I shall stay.
I might make a bishie dalish elf male. might. Maybe. It really depends.

If it's purely a resource issue, they should have reduced the number of horn styles by one or two, and provided at least one longer hairstyle. The complete lack of a single medium or long hairstyle is a conspicuous failing on the part of the CC. Everyone was looking forward to the horns, so they're obviously important, but not so important that they negate hair entirely.

I don't see why that has to be forced on us - the less fem appearance. I like their faces and I actually thought they looked rather feminine. Just striking. And longer hair would have matched up with them perfectly. Long hair = warrior's hair. Just ask a native american - or a klingon.

It's incredibly in depth! Yet... FOUR hairstyles for a qunari? That is inconsistent.

How can anyone complain about the CC? The little video showed already showed it being better than probably both CCs from the first 2 games combined. Not only that but if you're on PC since it uses sliders you'll likely be able to double and maybe even triple your options in those sliders simply by a short mod. An example would be that the face hair sliders do not support every type of variation you can have but with a small mod you could add them since the engine already supports it for you. Probably even take features from other race options and try those too. It's going to be awesome. The CC is almost MMOish. Surpassed my expectations.
Yes..except for the hair.....

I've been silently fretting about the hair texture for months now... I thought what we were seeing was the unpolished, unfinished version, but it looks like we're stuck with 2011-worthy hair textures. I might have to banish Cole to Skyhold permanently after seeing his horrendous hair in the game for the first time... And Dorian's mustache?? *Shudders*

Then you add in the face paint, the eye colors the many ways you can alter the face and each individual feature and you begin to realize that they put so much work into allowing people to design the face of their Inquisitor that they can be easily forgiven for a lack of hairstyles for one race.

@milkymoonshine: Fair enough - so, then please explain to me why the Qunari should have resources devoted to horns, facial tattoos as an interchangable accessory (when nobody else presumably gets unique helms) AND hair?
I don't want the game delayed another month for hair extensions personally - there's only so much time they can give to every race.
I apologize if my perspective offends - but I think people should just be happy with what they have instead of always focusing only on what they don't. Like - you know, as of a year ago qunari not even being available.
Well that would be why I said I think it's a bit of a straw man. I don't think people are necessarily is saying that it's unfair or that more time and resources should have been given to the Qunari (who get the tats because they can't have helmets btw). They are just disappointed that they can't do what they wanted to do in the game.
it's ok to be disappointed with something (within reason) and to express that disappointment.
The game isn't going to be delayed to add more hair options and I have seen nobody ask for that to happen.
This isn't people "always focusing on what they don't have" this is people reacting to the revelation that they don't have something that they wanted.

I'm sorry some of you are disappointed with the FemQunari options.
Hopefully, when you get into the CC yourselves, you will still be able to find enough pleasing options to make your characters.
I'm still planning a FemQunQuisitor for my 2nd or 3rd playthrough, but I'm more interested in the horns than the hair for her.

I never expected to get what we saw in the concept art, I am disappointed because it was even worse than I thought it would be but Bioware never mislead us about the Qunari or made promises about hair options.
They never told us before that qunari will have way less options for hair than any other race. Maybe, if they told it when they first showed us qunari mage in demo, people would get over it by now. Or devs would consider the feedback and made last-minute changes.
But as it is now, it just feels that they were deliberately withholding this informations. I'm sure they were perfectly aware of our expectations, they knew that people who wanted qunari character will be vocal about limited options (because it's just FOUR hairstyles while other races have dozens, and even if I liked those options, it's just four vs dozens!). So the fact that they showed it to us only after CC was locked and you could not change it anymore feels shady. Even if it was not their intent. But it sure looks like it.

Just watched the video. My first disappointment was that they tied horn and hair together into the one slider. That's never a good sign. My second disappointment was not only how limited the hair choices were, but how they were all essentially the same thing. I expected actual hair options, not just six different types of barely there fluff. Worse thing is that with the game only a couple months away, I imagine it's far too late for them to do anything about it. I really wish they had put out this video 4 - 5 months ago so our feedback could actually have an effect.
The horns themselves looked nice though.

Honestly I'd rather have four horn styles than four hair styles. This has critically impacted my hype over playing a Qunari.
This. Yesterday, my first play through was going to be a female Qunari Mage.
Today? I'm going to go with a male Dalish rogue.
Bioware needs to realize that having a large variety of hairstyles means a LOT to a large percentage of role players. They chose to give us a bunch of little features we didn't ask for (but appreciate nonetheless!) like lip shine, Adam's apple, broken nose, and outer iris color... But they spent valuable time and money developing those instead of giving us something we've been begging for since DA:O... Why tease us with long, beautiful hairstyles in your freaking concept art if you have NO intention of putting it in the game???

The horns count as hair options, really, and they are nice and quite varied. I'd like to see more hairstyles, sure, but it certainly wasn't some big conspiracy hell-bent on duping the qunari fan-base.
What would BioWare possibly have to gain from "withholding this information"? If that was the case why would they show us a female qunari at all? And let me just remind you that they made the decision because people on the stream were asking for it so they could see the horn options. Lady dwarves haven't been shown at all; should we be worried and cry foul about that; is it a conspiracy? No.
And if they had given "dozens" [an exaggeration, I'm sure] of hairstyles and only a few horn options then people would be complaining about the lack of horn variety. And they can't just give "dozens" of each; that's not practical.
tl;dr
There's a whole lot of melodrama here.

Agreed I was gonna do lady qunari mage too.
Now I'm rocking the human lady mage.
I just don't understand why they gave us such a vast amount of widely diverging horns...then give us those terrible hairstyles to go with it? And yeah most of the lady qunari concepts being shown with long nice hair also didn't help.
Also
The damn lady qunari tarot card has long hair.
The.
Damn.

This was the only problem i had with the CC. Literally the only hair style I liked was the one they showed on the Qunari female mage a while back. I wasn't keen on playing a Qunari anyway but now I think I might pass on it all together. I share everyone else's hope that either the modding community cracks Frostbite or they release a DLC with more hair options.
