I'd start with female qunari if I had decent hair for her but I guess I will roll male human first then and wait for dlc/patch.

I know, I'm in the same boat. I just can't quite fix on a character I would be as happy with.

Over 100 pages about this? I mean yeah, lack of options sucks but it shouldn't be that big of a deal breaker. Just hold out for potential mods.

I'm console player ^^ It's almost deal breaker for me though, hair is important for characters personality too.

Frostbite is notoriously difficult to mod. I believe it took multiple years for even a rudimentary mod to appear for Battlefield 3.

In David Gaider's most recent blog post, he said, "You could have ten people on a forum thread who are angrily complaining to each other... [and] with the Internet acting like a megaphone, it doesn’t take very many of those people to sound like a lot—even to themselves."

http://dgaider.tumbl...-do-you-and-the

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it almost seemed like he was specifically calling us out and making it seem as though there are only a few fans who are disappointed about the lack of female Qunari hair...

Just seen this topic! Can't believe it escaped my notice before! I'm also very annoyed about the lack of hair/horns for Qunari! Please Bioware give us Qunari players more customization!

I'm glad to see there are still newcomers coming to this thread who agree with us! The more people that give their feedback to Bioware, the better. :)

Every time a new person posts in this thread, a nug is saved from being eaten. ;)

I am confident that for every ten people that post in this thread there are easily 100 others that would agree with us, if they were only aware of this issue.

I just find it interesting that Allan quickly moved/merged the original Scuttlebutt version of this thread into the Feedback section of the forum...

It was almost as if he didn't want this issue to get more visibility.

Before anyone calls me a conspiracy theorist, look at the amount of views the Scuttlebutt section gets compared to the Feedback section...

And when you take into account the fact that the moderators/devs routinely allow threads that CLEARLY belong in the Feedback section of the forum to stay in Scuttlebutt (like the one that talks about the removal of attribute points at level up or the one complaining about the removal of healing spells), it makes me wonder...

Why the double standard?

Regardless, if Allan thought he could brush this issue under the rug by hiding it away in the Feedback section of the forum, he was wrong. We will not be silenced! :P

Edit: sorry for the double post! My Internet was being slow and I clicked "post" twice

Well, David Gaider needs to support his product.

It should be pretty obvious that qunari hairstyles are not what they where advertized. Especially since they all had long hair in the other two DA games exept for Armaas.

Notoriously difficult engine to mod, is Frostbite. Custom Content may never become an option, and yours is a point that is completely ignoring how many console players will still have no fix even if hairs can be fan-made.

And whether something is a deal breaker to someone else is not for you to judge. It's not a deal breaker on buying the game, for me, but it might be on playing Qunari if I can't stand to look at a bald head for 100+ hours, with no option to wear a helmet.

In a game that boasts incredible CC, the ability to design your own hero, to instill such a limiting choice on hair is a huge flaw that could be rectified - so we want it to be. For everyone.

He's a fantastic writer, but you'd think he'd have learned to choose his words a bit more carefully. Some times he lacks tact...

Yeah, It's just started to stick in how bad it is.  I love his writing so I really don't want to dislike the guy, but I'll be damned if it's not getting hard.

Maybe it's a whole tortured artist thing or something...

I think my big worry, is with him being such a major player is, how much of his attitude reflects the actual company as a whole.  It makes me nervous.

While I totally empathize with not wanting to look at people complaining about something you've been working hard on for the past three years and are (rightfully) proud of...

...we're customers. We have as much stake in the final product as the development team in Edmonton. We shouldn't be ignored, or worse, silenced. That doesn't mean that we have any right to demand things, but it does mean that it's in BioWare's best interests to hear what we have to say... I think Inquisition as a whole is proof of that. ;)

Maybe he's getting tired of the overblown entitlement issues some fans do have. Because the truth of the matter...game developers can't cater to everyone's needs or desires or demands. The world does not work that way. Game development does not work that. If you think you are owed something...you are not going to get what you want.  And yes it sucks...but that is how the world works.

It wouldn't surprise me if this was one of the threads he had in mind. His description very much matches my perception of this thread (which I last read about 50 pages ago).

But it's also true of about half of the other threads on BSN.

Slightly agreeing with gaider here in this topic I mainly seeing the same people post won't post names buuuut this is an issue that can be fixed but I don't think is that huge of an issue personally.

Personally just thankful that Qunari is now a playable race option considering they are my favorite race.

Owed something my ass, you have most of the people here outright willing to pay for it, and talking in the language of business, green green green.  No one here is being entitled, we're asking for something and offering to PAY for it.  Also as a business, it is good to have honest business practices, which is not what occurs when what the player receives is grossly different then every other portrayal that has occurred in their media, including their games.

This is an issue they created by bad marketing and advertisement, this is not entitelent, this is a bunch of people getting smacked in the face and going, WTF just happened?  Then going, ok, ok, time issues, resources, whatever, is too late for right now, we got that and we understand, so no demands for an immediate fix.  Not only that, but because we understand, we're offering to pay you more money to cover the resource expenses of fixing this issue.  There is no entitlement going on here.  Just a bunch of hurt and confused fans who are trying to be understanding while simultaneously letting their pain being heard, and offering ways to alleviate the problem even going so far as to do it with our pocketbook.

Based off of the feedback from this thread, I made a list of some questions most of us here would love for Bioware to answer:

1) Why does the texture of the female Qunari hair look significantly and noticeably worse than any of the other hairstyles? Also, why are the three Qunari hairstyles lacking in volume/detail and why are they all so short?

2) Why couldn't there be separate sliders for the hair & horn options?

2a) If separate sliders are too much to ask for, why, at the very least, couldn't you patch the game (post-release) to ensure that all three of the hairstyles were paired with each type of horn in a single slider? (A lot of people love a particular pair of horns, but HATE the hairstyle attached to it)

3) Did you retcon the lore and remove truly hornless Qunari from the world of Thedas?

3a) Is there a valid, story-based reason why the Inquisitor is not allowed to be a truly hornless Qunari? Instead, we are expected to make due with unsightly and off-putting "necrotic" craters, as if the horns had been pulled out like rotten teeth...

3b) Why couldn't the hornless female Qunari been given access to a COUPLE of the hairstyles for other races? Please explain how that would pose clipping issues if there aren't any horns to interfere with in the first place.

4) Was it ever your intention to include more options/variety/lengths of hairstyles for the female Qunari in DA:I? Did you run out of time/money or did you encounter serious clipping issues that made it an impossibility to include at launch?

5) Do you realize that lack of quality/diverse female Qunari hairstyles will easily and almost assuredly be the biggest disappointment in an otherwise fantastic CC?

If you, too, would like for Bioware to answer some of these questions, feel free to quote them in a post of your own with some of your thoughts explaining why the issue is important to you!

I admire your enthusiasm and the energy of the thread.

I'm not convinced that badgering BioWare for answers when there is a game to launch is very sensible.

Particularly as there is already a commitment on record and from the top, to look at it post-launch.

By all means share the feedback, as has been capably done, but to encourage people to submit badgering questions in their posts leaves a sour taste in my mouth to be honest.

I rewatched the Pax 2012 BioWare panel recently and it's interesting to see the huge journey embarked upon and how close we are now to launch - it puts things into perspective. http://www.gamespot....2/2300-6370583/

I too would welcome a few more hairstyles in the right places, but as nothing will happen until post-launch and BioWare are well aware of the feedback, is it not now time to ease off this debate until December rather than trying to turn the heat up on it?
