Oh and one more thing to those all happy about finally playing qunari as a race.  I've wanted to do so as well for a long time, especially with them in dragon age 2 and the art I've seen for them by their own company.  They looked awesome.  What we got does not even resemble any of what I fell in love with that much.  Most qunari are depicted with long to medium hair.  We don't even have medium hair, we have nothing close to any qunari, even Sten had a pony tail with his corn rows.

We don't need the exact styles the Qunari had, but SOMETHING along the same theme.

In David Gaider's most recent blog post, he said, "You could have ten people on a forum thread who are angrily complaining to each other... [and] with the Internet acting like a megaphone, it doesn’t take very many of those people to sound like a lot—even to themselves."

http://dgaider.tumbl...-do-you-and-the

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it almost seemed like he was specifically calling us out and making it seem as though there are only a few fans who are disappointed about the lack of female Qunari hair...

There have been so many threads like this, and there will be so many more. You are definitely reading too much into it. For the most part the Dragon Age devs tuned out of the opinions on their own forums after the response to DA2, with the exception of Allan coming in as a sort of unofficial community ambassador, so this sentiment has been around for quite some time.

So there's no real point to the feedback and suggestion forum, or for us to come here and express concerns or promote the things they've done that we like?  Is a completely pointless endeavor for us?  Completely wasting out time?  They don't care at all?  Well that's fantastic.

And whether something is a deal breaker to someone else is not for you to judge.

Since it's a public forum, I can in fact judge.

To clarify my meaning; you do not get to say what is the deal breaker for someone else, only what is for yourself.

Now this was a lovely piddling argument about semantics. Thank you.

I don't get the complaining about this thread. If we were constantly reopening it and flooding the forums with it then I'd get it.

But we're keeping to ourselves. >_>

How do you reach that conclusion after already being told they'll look into it?

If the other threads here are anything to go by, the fact we've had two Bioware employees respond to us in acknowledgement is very positive. In fact, how positive has been put weirdly into perspective thanks to Gaider's patented cynicism. So many topics don't ever get seen, so many don't ever get a response... we did.

I'm not surprised most of the devs don't come into the forum unless something particularly specific, or interesting occurs. There's hundreds of threads, thousands of replies... in just THIS sub-forum alone. I've only kept track of two or three, and I'm not making a computer game intended to make millions of dollars xD.

They care, but they have priorities. Which is why we aren't pushing them to change those priorities so close to the release of a AAA game.

I was responding to what someone else said.  Did you read the quote I was responding to?

As for their we're looking into response in felt rather lacking in follow through.

Slightly agreeing with gaider here in this topic I mainly seeing the same people post won't post names buuuut this is an issue that can be fixed but I don't think is that huge of an issue personally.

I'm absolutely not ashamed to be one of the more outspoken advocates for more Qunari hairstyles.
At the same time, I'm quite confident that for every person that posts in this thread, there are easily ten others that would agree with our grievances. How is it fair that female Qunari only get THREE hairstyles compared to the other races? How is it acceptable that those three styles are lacking in detail, volume, and texture when compared to the other race's hairstyles? Any rational person would agree that the female Qunari got the short end of the stick when it comes to their hair choices. It's just an objective fact. It might not be a huge issue to you, but to a lot of other fans, it makes us ignore female Qunari entirely as a playable race.

I'm not convinced that badgering BioWare for answers when there is a game to launch is very sensible.
Particularly as there is already a commitment on record and from the top, to look at it post-launch.
By all means share the feedback, as has been capably done, but to encourage people to submit badgering questions in their posts leaves a sour taste in my mouth to be honest.
I too would welcome a few more hairstyles in the right places, but as nothing will happen until post-launch and BioWare are well aware of the feedback, is it not now time to ease off this debate until December rather than trying to turn the heat up on it?

Well, when I look at other threads that "badgered" Bioware for answers (specifically the ones complaining about the removal of attributes on level up and the removal of healing spells) I can't help but notice that those people got RESULTS: namely, someone from Bioware took the time to provide an in-depth explanation for their rationale.

Who am I to argue with results?

Cameron Lee never would have responded to our concerns if this thread hadn't been created and the Bioware devs certainly will not VOLUNTARILY offer up a defense of the baffling choices they made regarding Qunari hair options unless we demonstrate that this issue isn't going to just go away. You might call it badgering, I call it providing continuous feedback. :)

The irony is Bioware never would have had to deal with our crushed expectations if they hadn't depicted virtually EVERY SINGLE QUNARI with medium/long hair only to turn around and give us 3 short, ugly styles in DA:I.

If Bioware didn't foresee that as being problematic, then they deserve to be badgered about it because they made an egregious oversight.

There is no entitlement going on here. Just a bunch of hurt and confused fans who are trying to be understanding while simultaneously letting their pain being heard, and offering ways to alleviate the problem even going so far as to do it with our pocketbook.

Exactly. Although I think that the female Qunari are entitled to better hair... ;)

I need to see all the hornless hair options on male Qunari before I can truly be disappointed about this issue on a personal level.  Right now, I'm just disappointed for the rest of you guys.

Male Qunari are almost assuredly going to have the same exact three hairstyles that female Qunari have* and when paired with the "hornless" option are almost certainly going to look just as bad... Unless festering, necrotic sores are your cup of tea ;)

* The reason I think both genders will share the same styles is because male Qunari already get the option of having beards, which gives them more variety and customization than their female counterparts... If they gave the male Qunari different/better hairstyles, there would be riots in the street :P

Yeah, that's what concerns me.

I never actually planned on playing as a female Qunari, even before the hair options were shown.

I was all set to play as a hornless Qunari male with a mohawk, but those giant sores a huge no-no.

I will just have to end up playing as a curly ram-horned Qunari with a mohawk. The mohawk really does not look bad at all to me on a male Qunari, so long as it is black ( to mask the lower quality compared to the hair of the other races ).  Black mohawk + black beard + dark bronze skin tone should look good.

My ideal would have been hornless, but I can live with this other option just fine.  Still a bit sad for you guys who wanted to play as a female Qunari with nice/long-ish hair.

??? The Hornless options look hornless to me. The only ones that look like sores are the ones that have it implied that the horns were "shaved down/cut short"

I agree that the male qunari will probably have a similar limited hairstyle options, my guess would be: mohawk, short cut, and cornrows.

No, they definitely have sores.  There is also an option for horns cut close to the head, which you are thinking of.

I'll try to dig up the unsightly pic.

Here it is, spoiler tagged to keep from scaring the kiddies.

I don't think the Gaider's post was aimed towards this thread, it was more general but it kinda bugged me cause what I got from it is that they don't want negative feedback, or that they see negative feedback as just fans hating/whining and not having legimate issues and reasonable & valid concerns that BW could improve and thus make better game.

Well that's just wibe I got, I don't know if that was his intention or not or did I just read too much into it too ^^
