I'm supportive, but I am a little happy that this isn't my #1 race choice. I feel for those that had their hearts set on qunari though, especially the female PC.
Yeah, I was completely torn between qunari and human (which would make a trifecta, since my Warden was human, as was Hawke, of course). I have limited time, so chances are that I'll only end up with one main PC in the long run, even if I play around with a few options short-term, and I suppose it speaks to my pure contrariness that this thread has inspired me to try my best to make qunari work. I'm now prepared for it to be a futile effort, however, and I certainly sympathize with others who wanted to roll fem!qun at any point but are now either seriously rethinking it or completely turned off.
Frankly, though, the hairstyles for other races aren't that much better, which is why I'm not immediately jumping ship to human (or even elf -- the qunari's pointed ears are growing on me
). Numbers aside, since they aren't exactly comparable (how many hairstyles is a hornstyle worth?), I'm not impressed with either the fashion or texture for hair in CC or even for several NPCs (Cassandra comes to mind). One could (as several people in other threads have) argued that the new engine is to blame, but then those are the few cases that really work: I'm really liking Josephine's newest hairstyle, for example, and (if she somehow manages not to set her hair on fire with that candle of hers!) I'm looking forward to seeing if it's really as good as it looks in the latest video. That said, in terms of PC/CC the fem!qunari situation seems by far the most egregiously lacking, and I think it's a good opportunity to call the devs' attention to the hair issue in general. Hopefully they'll give it at least some of the work it deserves post-launch. In the meantime, add my name to the list of those who'd pay a reasonable amount for DLC with better hair/horn styles, as long as the dev team takes to heart that "better" doesn't merely mean "more."
