Eh, many devs do small dumb things here and there for one reason or another, like time constraints, arguably dubious prioritization, alloted budgets. Whatever it is me thinks it's a pretty fair bet that the reason for sucky qunari hair isn't because it's too hard. You literally just have to not put hair where the horns are, which for the purpose of hair means just the root, the part where they come out of the skull. It's the exact same spot for every variation of them
Please rethink qunari hairs.. or lack of them!

Idk, hair roots seem almost as hard to animate as women. We can't possibly ask Bioware to tackle TWO impossible tasks in just one game

In order to raise even more awareness of this issue in the weeks leading up to the launch, I posted a parody video about qunari hairstyles in a new thread in Scuttlebutt:

Edit: It got locked for "profanity and Hitler"

Sad, I didn't get a chance to watch the video but I think the mod may have been over-reacting from how much the posters seemed to enjoy it.

I have no idea how difficult it would be since I'm no game designer.
I dso think that if it had been easy, Bioware would have done it.
It would have presented a slight challenge, but I believe the real issue was time. It's more time consuming than it is difficult. They already pushed it back so they most likely didn't want to push it back a few more weeks.

You can still watch it though, video itself hasn't been deleted. Yea I think it's quite overreaction since it's joke and didn't have anything offensive really, just overused meme (that was still funny in this context though). Well it was locked for language too but I find that just so odd coming from Finland where there is "foul language" everytime I open up tv or go outside the house ![]()

Heyho! I've been away for the week, just playing catch up - the threads been nice and active!
I have to agree with certain observations made regarding fandom activity around our Qunari!Quizzies; it is still thriving.
I have noticed though, at least on tumblr, that many creators have come to sad/reluctant terms with not being able to create a Qunari at all like how they have imagined them. Many will still make them, but they seem to be choosing to retcon their appearance when utilizing their art and writing skills. Which is great for the fandom! I just can't help but wonder how many folks playing humans, elves and dwarves will find themselves in that position of aesthetic detachment. It's become a majority stand point for Qunari fans on tumblr. I've yet to see the same level of disappointed sentiment for the other races - and that should tell Bioware something.
If your CC on a race is so lacking, that many of your fanbase are choosing to abandon your representations for their own, you've messed up.
Oh, and here's a few more of the fanmade Qunari!Quizzies for y'all ![]()

Oh, I suppose that's a wise course of action, nothing to argue over or contest then. But it was a spoof, so...

That had me howling with laughter, especially the part about "ever since I was a little boy I have dreamed of being a female Qunari" XD

I 300% agree!!!! I think for both male(we haven't seen much but if this is an indication, we need more) and female Qunari need more hair options. Bioware really dropped the ball with the hair options for Qunari, not for Humans, elves and dwarfs though. There should be way more hair options with horns and they should look to fan pics, the forums and comics for inspiration. I heard they might add more hair through patches or DLC which is good.

I've seen one too many of that hairstyle saturate the FPS genre. Sorry but no thanks. Keep that god awful look OUT of my RPG.

i mean the difference is they thought you would like the horn styles more. But you guys still get the same amount of "top of head customization" as others. I mean, it may be highlighting things you don't prefer, but i think the lack of options was more them thinking that the horns would be cooler to most people since it is a unique Qunari thing, so tried to have as many options as possible there instead. But there aren't less options except when it comes to tattoos, but that is similiar to Dalish men having to have tattoos, and not able to have beards. I think that it is mostly even.

Yep, they all have the same options. But the options themselves vary among the races
