Frankly, nobody's hair textures look up to par with the rest of the game. Just look at that dwarf they showed recently. Best to just accept that.

True but they at least have one or two styles I find decent looking on each race. I don't find that much with the qunari.

Honestly even if they had given only the hornless most of the shared hairstyles I'd been happy.

Agreed. I still don't understand why the devs won't even comment on this... It seems like it would be such an easy fix and it would save them from having to make new hairstyles in a DLC...

You see though, the devs have commented on this.  In this thread in fact, one month ago.  I know it's not a great answer, but they did come by and make a post.  They could have completely ignored the thread, but they didn't.  There isn't much more that they could say or do about it right now.

I empathize, I truly do, but sometimes we have to accept the answer we're given.  Honestly, between this and other threads (like the causal clothing and ball uniform threads,) I wouldn't be surprised to see an appearance DLC before you know it.   :)

They did comment on it, you just don't think it was enough

And like Mike said before, "If it was easy they would have done it"

I know they vaguely responded to our concerns (I've been part of this thread since day one :)) and said they would look into it post-launch and I appreciated that, don't get me wrong: I just wish they could have gone into a LITTLE more detail, especially after seeing how Patrick Weeks wrote a 10,000+ word post on the changes to the healing mechanics.

Why couldn't they just explain why hornless female Qunari couldn't borrow the hairstyles of other races? Was it a design decision? Technical limitation? Lack of resources? I'm curious. That's all.

Bleh. Don't leave those of us who want to play horned qunari with those horrible meshes. Sure, the hornless qunari have no reason not to get the styles available to the other races, but leaving horned qunari with access to just those three would be a horrible call. That's not the end result I want.

At this point, they should be rethinking EVERY race's hair options.  I'm looking at the elven hair styles and it's just.....ugh.  13 different bald styles.   Freakin seriously?

When it comes to the healing changes, that was a very big deal.  Most RPGs have some sort of healing spells or post-combat regen mechanic.  Considering that the series had had both prior to this, it merited a lengthy explanation.  While bunking the Holy Trinity (Tank/Healer/DPS) is starting to happen in more modern RPG, it's still new and can seem daunting to players.

There isn't much more Cameron could say about the hair.  Did you want a 10,000+ word explanation about why they didn't add in more hair?  Does it really need that level of an explanation?  Did you want a promise for DLC?  Honestly, what more did you want them to say other than, "Thanks for the feedback and we're looking into it?"  I'm utterly lost at to what kind of answer is being asked for here.

They did comment I just meh. It's a baffling design decision. Then again so is...

Yeah I facepalmed hard at that. 13 variations of goddamn buzzcut/balds. Seriously? Seriously?

Yeah and most RPGs have a decent variety of hairstyles to pick from to. And, to a LOT of people, character customization is a VERY BIG deal. But you're blowing what I said way out of proportion and twisting my words. I never said I expect Bioware to treat female Qunari hair options the same as gameplay mechanics.

I never said I expect a 10,000 word post justifying their decisions. All I said was that I WISH (not demand or expect) someone from Bioware would actually answer some of the simple questions* posed in this thread instead of just a vague "we hear you and might look into adding more hairstyles later."

They wouldn't have to go into much detail. A sentence or two would easily suffice. Is that really so much to ask for? I didn't think so, but you're making it seem like I'm being totally unreasonable.

* In case you haven't been following this thread as closely as I have, here are some of the questions a lot of us have:
Why can't we have a separate slider for hair/horns?
Why can't hornless female Qunari share hairstyles of other races?
Why does the hornless, bald option have to have necrotic craters?
Do truly hornless Qunari still exist in your lore? Why can't the inquisitor be one?
Why does the volume, texture and detail of female Qunari hair look worse when compared to the other races hairstyles (although after seeing the recent pics, they all kind of look bad IMHO)

Obviously Bioware is free to just go on ignoring this issue. Just like I'm free to go on raising a fuss. Honestly, I don't believe Cameron Lee when he said they'd look into adding more post-launch. Bioware has NEVER done that and they've gotten flak for their hair in other games, too. The only way they'd consider it is if it became a big enough issue for them to warrant adding more hairstyles. And that's why I keep posting in this thread and doing everything I can to raise awareness. I don't care if you get annoyed with my posts or misunderstand my intent.

The fastest solution, certainly, but hardly the best. 'Fastest and simplest' were what got the other races 50 shades of fuzz for hair. I'd rather BioWare take a bit more time (but not too much) and give us a decent suite of options for both horned and hornless qunari. A good deal of the appeal of playing  a qunari, for me, still comes from their possession of horns. If the only decent hairstyles appear on the hornless variants, that would be quite blow to their appeal. I don't think players should be forced into a trade-off between cool horns and palatable hair for a race that, historically, has had access to both.

True I'd rather faster because I don't mind trading horns for hair XD

And true enough. I'm just not sure why we couldn't get a shoulder length slicked back style. That was difficult? =/

If you thought that Santa beard was bad, skip to 5:06 of the following video and pause it:

The hair texture doesn't look any better. And the red color of the cornrows looks terrible against the green skin shade... It just looks laughably bad. Totally fake. Is this really the best you can do, Bioware? I'm disappointed.

Holy crap it looks even worse. How did it get worse? How did a whole group of professionals look at that hair and say "yeah this is good, lets put this in the game as is!" It's like me as a cake decorator making a cake like this and putting it out for sale

To sell that cake, believe that it's "art" hard enough that other people believe it too :D

Am I the only one that looked at that and only thought, "Okay, that looks tasty?"

I get what you guys were going with, but probably using baked goods isn't the best comparison.  :P

For some of the comments you guys have been making, I'd start digging up tattoo fails.  Not cake.  Cake is just...yummy.

Lol cake is what I know XD

And I'm sure the Qunari has a great personality...lol

Here's a better example. On par skill wise with the Qunari hair

Oh lawd, that male qunari looked so ridiculous I lmfao when I saw him from the front! Guess that means playing as male wouldn't solve the issue. I usually love beards, too. Great. They gonna ruin that for me too?! R.I.P. beards. Ye shall be missed. :crying:

To be honest, almost every beard that has been available for the player for BioWare games is ultimately worse than the hair options most of the time.

Here's a tattoo fail picture to get you guys started, because the cake fails aren't working for me.  Besides, for now, just like with a tattoo, the hair we're picking is permanent on our character:

Yea I guess my qunaris are in backseat waiting for hair miracle to happen before I'm playing them. Quite sad, they were my preferred race before hair fiasco.

I've seen that tattoo before btw, super horrible (though ironically the tattoo artist did a decent job on the hair)
