I'd have to play around with the options, but from that photo, I don't know if colorful make-up will look great on any Qunari.

I want to go for the Sten-like Qunari: bronze skin and white hair. I'll probably play around with different shades of brown and gold to highlight her features but look natural to that skin tone. Or if I go with grey skin, I'd probably go with black or white hair, and black, grey, or white shades on the make-up. I highly doubt I can settle on colorful make-up or hair options. A little more so after seeing that Inquisitor.

That makeup and that mouth in that combo were...unfortunate choices.

That glossy look to the lips makes it so much worse.

Going to go with possibly colourblind...

Agreed. Perhaps I'll just give her black skin and hair. Might make the poor texturing less obvious. Good luck spotting her in the dark!

I tend to go with just eyeshadow and eyeligner and it's usually black when I do makeup XD otherwise my characters look like clowns. I'm not good at the makeup and I don't bother (unless the facepalm makeup is part of characterization like it was for my lady Cousland warden. She was never very girly but she tried...she tried)

I'm good with colours, but I try every shade and intensity before I choose on any combo. It takes hours to get a good face. But they do turn out fairly pretty.

I almost always go lightly on the make-up. The lips are probably the darkest choice I make, while everything else I go with a "tread lightly" approach.

Huge fan of black guyliner, though. It happens just about any time I'm able to do so.

Edit: Like my Breton from ESO. Hopefully I did this correctly and the image shows.

Yeah I can't be bothered trying out all of them. XD too lazy I am. I'll usually stick to something that goes with their eyes and then try to fade it out til it's very very faint. Or just black. *shrugs* I think my makeup tends to end up nice. But sometimes I do the "sweet maker what was I thinking?" (Usually when the light is bright :crying: )

Applying makeup is an art, and one does not simply rush art. -_-

I know I always obsess over my character. Gotta keep at it 'till everything is just right. Else, partway through I'll stop to check my character out and notice something is amiss. After that, I won't be able to stop looking at it over and over 'til I lose my mind.

And this is why people like me shouldn't be given Mirrors of Transformation. The amount of times I tried to tweak the nose...

I loved and hated that mirror! I was happy that I could show my character change some over several years, but I spent so much time debating! In the end, my first Hawke ended up with Leandra's default hairstyle as a show of maturity (that hairstyle just look like it belonged to someone wiser from experience) and to resemble her mother more.

Actually the hair looks like it's being made of playdough. With the corncrows it's quite obvious, just some playdough worms around the head and vola.

Sigh, the texture of hair is killing me. It's like 240p when rest of face is in HD.

Definitely not the right choice for her coloring (though those colors would look good on a pale skinned, rosy complexioned, non-redhead) though the hair sticks out at me the most. It looks like play dough. Whoever made it should be reassigned to something they're better at :pinched:

That recent shot has confirmed that I'm more than likely going bald qunari I get that the hair texture isn't great on any of them but it just looks worse on the qunari hair to me. I'm going bald for both qunari.

I think that when/if I make my qunari lady I'm gonna have to give her black hair to hide those textures. Or just go bald.

Unless we're lucky and bioware comes out with a patch or dlc. Or if we pc users are really lucky and mods are made.

I wanted a pretty white haired qunari lady... :crying:

I was thinking that I might be willing to play a bald qunari female, but upon further examination I wouldn't be able to stomach it. I guess I'll do my male elf playthrough first, and hopefully there will be dlc for hair by the time I want to go through it again. Still this is disappointing, I was planning on experiencing the game for the first time as a female qunari mage.

I'm slightly worried that I'll have a DA2 experience and only be able to stomach one playthrough, and I almost worry it'll be a waste of that experience playing Acantha (my qunari mage) instead of Eavan (my human rogue).

But I really want to play qunari for telemetry and origin reasons...

I'm having a change of heart and may be a traditionalist and play human rogue first... Thoughts/Advice?

There are two thing I don't understand.

1) why no buzzcut fo the qunari, when there is an overabundance (really too many when compared to the other options) for the others races? Is not a clipping problem, is more a "cut" the texture around the horns.

2) Why the hairstyles are so flat? there isn't really a problem of clipping outside the horns, since qunari don't wear helmets  a ponytail or a hairstyle like Sten, or simply a more voluminous hairstyle would be more free to be done than in the others races (and even with them, is not really a problem)

I'm not gonna talk about the textures. the hair seem paint versed on the head.

I love short hairstyles, but I think I'm going bald with the female qunari, if for when I'll play with one there is still nothing better in the hair options. -_-

Okay, this I completely agree with.  It strikes me as very odd that even the female PCs get the 12 buzzcuts (yes, I counted) as well as the male-pattern baldness look.  Seriously DA team, you could have left about half of that out of the female hair selection.

Yet, on the female Qunari where most of the looks would work (except for the receding hairline,) almost none of those options are available.  Er, I feel like some ADHD hit the art and animation team during parts of development.  I'm not trying to rip on them, since I think they've done an overall amazing job.  I'm really excited for the game.  However, some of the customization feels rather uneven at this point.

1) Qunari having very few hairstyles, even among the sea of shaved heads.

2) For that matter, the number of horn styles that look almost identical to each other.

3) The odd decision that having 12 styles of buzzcuts for female characters was better than trying to take about half of those and making some smooth seeming hairstyles.  I should not be able to clearly see the receding hairline going on with the female hair that's shaved on the sides.

4) I can customize my furniture, yet not the causal clothes I'll be likely staring at a whole lot more. <giant facepalm>

5) I don't have the option to change into the armor that is touted as being so customizable while at the Keep.  I like to play a paranoid rogue, so I can't see her being out of armor anytime she's awake.  That's just my RP'ing though.

In the grand scheme of things, these are fairly minor details and don't impact my excitement for the game.  It does puzzle the crap out of me.

A little more so after seeing that Inquisitor.

Focus on muted gem colours, in little amounts. Wine red for the lips, gold, bronze, forest green, or burgundy for the eyes.

The more I see of the qunari the more disappointed I am. The thing that bothers me the most, is we were apparently given such short and masculine hair to prevent clipping. Of the three hairstyles one, the "mudbun", clips awfully right in the front with the skull. It is particularly apparent in the below video when the player changes the forehead at 2:21 and the hair color at 2:00.

Not only is the hair short, lacking in volume, and has a terrible texture; it clips....

If it was going to clip anyway I would have preferred some other options. That or they fix this before the release.

I saw a recent video displaying a female Qunari and her hair and the way her skin covered too much of her horns were just... utterly terrible.
