God I wish I hadn't read that. I can't unsee it now.

But that's just it. The hair isn't even animated and free flowing and still they failed. Take a look at this picture for example. It looks awful. And I'm not talking about the hairstyle itself (which is horrible btw). I'm talking about the technical quality. The hair just looks off. Like it was rendered by another graphics engine entirely. Like a badly photoshopped picture where someone just cut and paste hair from one photo to another. Or cut out hair from a paper placed on the head of a paperdoll.
This is a game released in late 2014 after all. And hair has been done much better by much older games before.

Heck, I would love a badass Jack from ME2&3 style haircut or a buzzcut for my female qunari... Basically I'd take ANY style that looks halfway decent in comparison to the crap Bioware is expecting us to be happy with.
But that's a hot (albeit punk) style. We're talking mudbun and male pattern baldness here.
Oh right. Male pattern baldness is not very attractive... I guess it would work if you role play a grizzled, seasoned warrior, but I definitely do not.
Are you implying people would load up crop dusters with cash in the vain hope of getting the youngins to buy wigs and cover up?
Of course they would ![]()
Seriously though please please let that swept back style be available to femqunari. I'm hoping so hard.

I'm still not sure which style you mean. I looked at the video you posted (I think it was you) in the bad hair scuttlebutt thread but I didn't notice anything.
It's the hair that looks like it's going back. The middle part? Right before you get that godawful mudbun with the hornless style.
http://www.youtube.c...JwSRbuzyA#t=338 At exactly 4:18, they show this "wicked awesome" pair of horns that are pulled back some and curled (that have metal on them) with the mohawk. It only shows up for like a half a second so you have to click play and pause really quick to see it. (if some one could some how get a pic of it and post it, please do)

Yes!!! Thank you so much!

See, I like this hair. And the overall appearance of this character. It almost makes me actually want to play a qunari, but I'm almost certainly sticking with elves, at least at first.
That said, I do hope that there's some appearance DLC, as the hair is... well, not really that good overall.
Spoiler
His cheeks are pretty sunken. I'm afraid DAI is going to have same problem as DAO, if you chose to have beard the cheek become suddenly sunken and it looks like you are sucking them in. I want beard for my qunari guy so I hope it's not so.
hmmm guys think we can make this topic a 200 pages long? we still have plenty of time till DAI and theres really nothing else for me to do anyway
I just find it weird that we don't even have access to one 'normal'-looking female-friendly style. All of them are ultra-short and severe, and three of the four options leave portions of the scalp (or all of the scalp) clearly visible. If I want to play a qunari, my options are:
1) The cue-ball
2) The grunge rocker / barbarian
3) The stern headmistress
4) The ultra-practical ultra-tight cornrows
None of these, save the mudbun, seem like they were designed with women specifically in mind, and even then, the bun of the mudbun was kept so tiny that it barely qualifies; as though making it any bigger would have made it too suggestive of femininity.
I just want one or two options that allow mid-length hair (shoulder length or pulled back in a ponytail) with horns that don't involve half of my character's scalp being shave bare. I don't want to look like an extra from the set of the Road Warrior.
Don't forget that there is a fifth:
5) Short swept-back with a middle part and no horns. It's the one just before the hornless mudbun option.

I could probably fill 200 pages just with disgruntled hair drawings and side by side comparisons with really old games that do hair better ![]()

The only decent one.
Why on earth didn't that come with some horns (especially those beautiful going back pointing up horns that are on bald. We have enough bald with horns! We could've used swept back with a set.
) Damn hair isn't even long enough to get in the damn way.

A mud-ponytail would have been gender neutral and could have been much bigger ![]()
I find quite disappointing the fact (not only in the female Qunari) that all the hairstyles are unisex. Not even an exclusive kind of haircut only female or only male...I find it really strange. ![]()

I personally like the idea of making all the hairstyles available for both male and female PC. There were two or three "male" hairstyles back from DA:O and DA2 I really would have liked to use on my female PCs and vice versa.
The only problem I have with this concept is, that apparently they are taking MALE as default, and design from there. Hence all the bald-options, and hairlines that are definitely more male-coded. As well as the qunari-hair options.
