Speaking of braided styles, what do we think of these?

Though for some this style is not the most attractive, I do feel like it just screams Qunari xD

There is a slim hope of a hair pack DLC coming out later in the future so its not completely hopeless.

I'm sorry I'm bad at this comforting thing social skills are not my strong suit.

There is also still the slim hope that some people will actually be able to crack the Frostbite 3 engine and make modding of models / textures possible!

On another note: I wholeheartedly approve of all those awesome hairstyle suggestions you guys.

Which would only affect PC gamers and only the ones that know how to use mods. Even if I was getting Inquisition on PC I'd be terrified to try and use a mod again, last time I did I'm fairly sure I broke the game I was trying to mod and have no idea how to fix it  But it would be nice for people who can use them I just hope if mods are made that console players can still get some kind of DLC as well so no one is left out :)

Yep I don't really think modding is solution here. PC is one of 5 platforms DAI will be released and all PC players don't mod their games so large amount of players would still be without better qunair hair.

Unless you know how to convert pc mods to console versions and then somehow transfer them to your console. I know people did this for Skyrim but it was only from pc to xbox.

I imagined my Qunari to look like a horned (and wingless) version of this guy:

(I was a huge Gargoyles fan back in the days. Yay Thailog)

Soooo... I got the eyecolour and the skintone, only one thing is missing.

I find this thread to be somewhat... distasteful. BioWare is introducing Qunari as a playable race for the first time and they are being attacked and insulted because of a lack of hair options? For one, DAI isn't a hair simulator and the game's focus is no hairstyles. Two, many seem to overlook the fact that a Qunari's main feature is their horns, not their hair. You should really consider the horns just as much a part of the hair options as the hair is. Third, give them a break. This is their first time using Frostbite 3. The engine, itself, does not render and animate hair that well. Unless they use a 3rd party source like Nvidia (which they never do as they use AMD), it's unlikely BioWare will be making in advances with hair for a while. Wait for the next Dragon Age game and I'm sure they'll will be plenty more options for Qunari.

Oh please, it's not 'a hair simulator' and it's not a 'dating simulator'.  With this line of reasoning, you can't complain about bad dialogue either, because DA isn't a 'conversation simulator'.  Or bad battle mechanics because it's not a 'combat simulator'.  All of these things are part of the game.  Anything in the game is subject to feedback from the fans.  If you don't agree with the other fans' feedback, you should say so and give your reason why.  But, 'it's not a ____ simulator' isn't a good argument because the game is, effectively, a _____ simulator if ______ is in the game.  People are giving feedback on the official board dedicated to giving feedback.  There's nothing wrong with what people are doing here.  Bioware is free to listen or discard on their own.

It's not either one. People continue to hound on the most particular features of these games, of which have no relevance or purpose to how BioWare makes a game. On the contrary, BioWare games are all about story, dialogue, and characters, so yeah it could be argued to be a "conversation simulator" as you put it. Any main feature of a BioWare game (RPG element, combat, story, characters, dialogue) are all foundations and core elements that make the game what it is. Things such as hair, sexuality, and other elements are additions, but not main features.

I don't believe I said more hair options couldn't be feedback. What I did say is this is the first time qunari are playable, with a large variety of horns as well, and yet people still continue to complain. The game isn't even out yet and there are outcries for change. Do you understand how ridiculous that is? You may want to look up what the term "simulator" means as merely having a feature does not make it a simulator. That depends on its importance to the rest of the experience.

The problem with this rationale? Feedback really doesn't matter if you haven't experienced the game yet. How can you have an opinion about something if you haven't even played? This is why this thread is trivial. Play the game, form your opinions, and then come back her and provide feedback. That is what "feedback" is. Experiencing the product and providing your own opinions about how it can be improved. How can you possibly have an opinion about something you have not played? Absurd.

It comes down to what you value.  If you don't value something, then you don't think criticizing it is valid.  There are people who find the customization aspect of the game to be very important, so it's worth it for them to offer feedback.

And, to the idea that you can't offer feedback until you've played the game, clearly Bioware doesn't agree with you since there's been a 'feedback' section on this forum for months.  They clearly welcome feedback.  And, now that we've been shown the entirety of the character creator through their official streams, as well as dozens of reviewers, it's perfectly normal to have opinions on what we've seen.

DAI is multidimensional game that includes CC where you do your own character, there is where the game starts. And what's important in CC? Hair.

Qunaris can also be hornless. It's not like horns are only thing qunaris are known for. Metallic skin is other, huge build is another and then there is white hair.

There is nothing distasteful or wrong on giving feedback and mentioning what is lacking in the game. 5 hairstyles (hornless has fifth I believe that qunaris with horns can't use) is pretty poor for RPG where you craft your own character and it's not mobile game or browser game.. though those have more hairstyles usually too.

This CC is the most robust BioWare has ever made... It by far surpasses anything they have ever done in terms of customization and flexibility. The choices and options for creating your own character are almost limitless. I'm all for more hairstyles, eventually, but I also realize time constraints, limited resources, and the fact that BioWare had to build a diverse world with hundreds, if not thousands of NPCs. Even for races that aren't playable, they still had to have their own customized and personal preferences. This is by far the largest and most ambitious game BioWare has ever built (besides SWTOR) and it's rather disrespectful one small feature of the CC is being so heavily scrutinized when people haven't even played the game yet.

Your rationale is "there is a feedback section so they want it"? Okay... Yeah, I'm sure they'll want "quality" feedback once people actually know what they are talking about it. They already know many have complained about the hair options and have even recognized it. I don't believe complaining more will accomplish anything since they've already recognized the issue. Have we seen the "entirety of the character creator"? I've seen streams where BioWare will flip through it, but certainly don't spend 30 minutes to an hour on it. Nobody outside of BioWare is familiar or comfortable with the CC. Until you actually get your hands on it, your understanding is limited at best.

There won't be anymore hairstyle. It's confirmed already. Idk what you are talking about there cause I sure I have seen all options qunari have. All options other races have are around as well. I don't need to know rest of the CC, the hair is what is problem not lipshine, earlobe or any of those things they decided to focus.

Yes. Yes. You seem to also disregard this is the most robust CC BioWare has built to date. Look at SWTOR as a comparison. The lack of options is sickening. As far as the importance of hair, that is purely subjective. I personally would rather have more variation in terms of facial features and how my character can look rather than just presets of hair options.

Yes and BioWare has hit the nail on all those aspects. Hair is by far not something the qunari are known for, which might explain the lack in variety, as well as just not having the time to commit to more options.

You also seem to disregard that DAI has three other races of which all have their own various options, including hair. BioWare isn't just lazily slapping every hair on ever race for the heck of it, like many RPGs will do. I can actually appreciate that BioWare wants to make ever race unique and different. If the hair is really that unbearable, don't play a qunari.

I'd also like to state that DAI is not a JRPG, where every character it seems (male and female) has long, flowing hair that bounces all over the place. The great thing about Frostbite is BioWare will be able to add more options over time. Probably not with DAI, but going in the future we will see more possibilities. Be happy with what you have and provide feedback once you actually play the game. Feedback otherwise is worthless.

Perspective of hair? I already said we have seen all of it. Stream and videos have given more than enough time to see all the styles qunaris have many times. Actually I believe we are too late to give this feedback since the hairstyles have been already locked down.

All the other hair is same for both genders and races. Qunari is only one with unique hair. Unique, that doesn't match earlier hairstyles we have seen qunaris with. Well I already have this info in the OP. Also qunaris don't wear helmets like other races so hair is twice as important.

I don't want long hair as longer than other races have. I want to have shoulder-lenght hair. I don't want mohawk I haven't seen any qunari having in BW's works before. I want swept back hair in braid or without braid since that's what I have been seeing qunaris with.

The hair is unbearable but qunari was my first choice and that's why it affect me so much and other qunari-lovers too.

All of those photos of various hairstyles look beautiful, but I think it's unrealistic to expect Bioware to add anything even close to that in the game... I'm just playing Devil's Advocate here--I would LOVE to have beautiful braids or awesome cornrows for my female qunari.

I remain skeptical that Bioware would ever come out with a "Hair DLC", seeing as that's not something they've EVER done before...

Anyway, I think what's much more likely to happen is for Bioware to patch the game to make a couple relatively easy changes that would appease some/most of us. Namely:

1) Separate sliders for hair/horns

2) Change the meshes for the other races' hairstyles to allow them to work for qunari without clipping

(If Bioware modified just five of the other hairstyles to let female qunari use them, I think that would make a LOT of us very happy!)

I don't think this thread has been disrespectful at all, and I've been here since page 1.

We haven't demanded anything, anything we've requested have been gentle requests and suggestions, and hair can make a huge difference in who you perceive your character to be. The horns are great, no one is disparaging the horns, we would simply really like to see well rendered varied hair styles.

True truth is, the qunari hair options do not have equal texture or quality as the 3 other races, and that should be rectified.

It was more fantasy inspired hair than anything I'd ever expect in game, haha. I was bored, late at night.

Although some of the loose, gathered hairstyles I believe are perfectly plausible.
