Thank you for all the time, effort and hard work that has been put into creating the “Dragon Age” series. Myself and many other fans, I’m sure, are looking forward to playing the anticipated “Dragon age Inquisition”. However when viewing character creation videos, I was made aware that there is not an option to give the Qunari long hair, I found this extremely disappointing. I feel your character’s hair style plays a big part in defining the character’s overall look and therefore the message expressed by your characters image. Other races have more hair customisation options, in which I feel allows them to express more of an individuality, this is stripped from the Qunari race. It seems inconsistent that something as detailed as a broken nose can be customised but not long hair, (especially considering in “Inquisition” you play as a Vashoth Qunari and not a Qun Qunari). Your concept art is also very deceiving, as it shows Qunari male and female charaters with long white hair. It feels as if you have promised one thing and given another, this is very unfair. Myself and many other fans found the lack of customisation within the Qunari race a letdown. We would really appreciate it if you created a downloadable content for long Qunari hair. Again thank you for all the great work, creative ability and time put into creating, what I consider to be one of the best RPGs around. Thank you
Please rethink qunari hairs.. or lack of them!

The problem there is that hair is so bad that is stopping people from being their preferred race and that makes including qunari questionable: if people can't play race cause it's CC is lacking compared to other races doesn't that make the races quite useless as option?
And I'll say again if people really want to play a Qunari*for rp,aesthetics etc...* they'll be able to tolerate the hair and if not there's 3 other races to pick from.
Not to the people who enjoy playing those races regardless.

We will, but *tolerate* is very much a negative in this context

They should be happy about CC not just tolerate how awful their character look ^^; Having to tolerate something isn't ideal at all, people should be joyed of CC not sad about it.

Hey guys, I have been popping in and out of this thread for awhile but never posted. I am in agreement with all you regulars in hopes for better options for Qunari hairstyles in the future and love the ones that some of you have come up with and posted. I was just wondering if any of the devs have commented on this topic and if so, would any of you be able to point me to it? ![]()

It generally always is.
Also I'm not really arguing with anyone here just expressing my puzzlement over why the people who for them hair makes or breaks their characters simply don't choose one of the other 3 options they are given.
The Qunari options are the only options available for people that really want to play Qunari.
No one is denying that there are other races with other hair out there. All they're asking for is, if the developers are able to do so, to include some additional options in the future. And some are even drawing or digging up photos of options that might be appealing or preferable.
And this is a feedback forum. You're acting as if people coming here and giving feedback in a feedback forum is something that people should instead just sit back quietly and avoid doing.
Then pick the style you think looks the best if you really want to play a Qunari the positives outweigh the negatives for you.
No but some people are over-reacting a tad bit here I find.
Except in the very post you quoted I flat out said I approved of people asking for more options just not the over-reacting some posters were doing
So people should have to prove that they really do want to play qunari characters by tolerating something they really don't like? Why? People want to play qunari for different reasons. For many, it's the aesthetic. But the aesthetic isn't just big + horns to everyone. Players want the opportunity to make a character that looks and feels right to them. Maybe they want a qunari who has horns and tolerable hair so they can fully enjoy their character. They shouldn't be forced to sacrifice one to get the other.

Hair aside, the female proportions look absurd. The head is tiny compared to the body.

I'll only speak for myself, but I was very much looking forward to playing a qunari character after their announcement. And now I am not. Qunari was a shoe-in for my first playthrough. I liked the aesthetic of the qunari as seen in DA2 and in the concept art. I was happy I'd be able to play a tall, imposing woman with horns who was seen as an outcast and a potential threat. And if you'd asked me two months ago what my breaking point would be, I doubt I would have said hair, but there it is. Hair is supposed to be a given. Being able to make a character that I find aesthetically pleasing (not pretty, or beautiful, but interesting and pleasing to me) is very important. I didn't have a super specific idea of what my character would look like going in, but I anticipated having at least some workable options for the general gist of what I wanted. Now I find that, in order to make my qunari character, I have to put up with one of 3 meshes I don't think fit the character I want to play, and that I find personally very unappealing.
So I will likely be going with my secondary option, and selecting a different race. I'm not going to play a qunari if it means that I'd have to force myself to try to tolerate a poorly-implemented feature that makes my character feel less like my own. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't voice my disappointment and ask for improvements to be made. I'd get more utility, more joy, out of playing a properly done qunari character than I would playing another race. I'd rather not be forced to play a consolation-prize character if I can help it.
To address the point generally:
We shouldn't be in a position where the best that a majority of players can say is that they'll tolerate one out of a suite of options (none of which they like) so they can play a qunari character. We shouldn't be in a position where the largest remaining minority says they can't tolerate any of options, and so will avoid playing the race.* Because that's a terrible place to be, and it's indicative that something is terribly wrong with the options provided. Many of us are just hoping for a fix.
* I'm here referring to data from the poll in the OP

Please, let's not. This topic is not meant to be about mindless complaining about qunari, it's meant to be an indicator for Bioware that people care about this issue, as well as a place for discussing the limited hair options and potential solutions.

There are many that do choose not to play Qunari after all. I myself am having serious doubts, I certainly won't be playing Qunari first, if at all. But that doesn't mean we can't voice our disappointment at being driven away from our initial choice.

Press the show only bioware posts at the top they said they will look into it post release.
They also said in one of the streams that they totally had heard our concerns. That doesn't mean they will do anything about it but they do know that it's a problem for many of us.
We are keeping this thread open so that they don't think we will just forget about it and learn to live with it, it makes them less likely decide it's not worth fixing. If you are skeptical of this method then maybe this will change your mind. One of the devs who was involved in making KOTOR once said that there was thread complaining about the lack of SS romances in the game and it was active on the forum for like a year. That thread was a big part of why Bioware did more SS romances in future games, it showed them that fans really cared about that.
So keeping this thread going may help to get that DLC we want or it may not but it's worth a try.

Think of it this way: what if instead of having crappy hair, every piece of armor for male or female Qunari turned into a pink fluffy dress when equipped on them? Would you see it as not a big deal and tolerate it?
Does it surprise you that most women (and many men) take at least some pride in their hair? It's a form of self expression and characterization and the first thing you notice about a person.(not to mention Qunari can't equip a helmet or hood to hide it which I would have found acceptable) Having the character that I've been excited about playing for more than a year be restricted to looking like 1) a schoolmarm 2) Mr. Clean 3) Discount James Vega or 4)Someone who glued logs onto their head as cornrows. That definitely ruins it for me. I can play a male Qunari eventually since bald looks ok-ish on men but that's not the character I wanted to play and even then I would have chosen to have him look like a regular Qunari like all the rest we've seen (long white hair).

No no, I agree it's important, shitty hair definitely makes it less appealing, I'm just saying it doesn't decrease the appeal to the point of skipping the race entirely imo. I'm still gonna try playing with the CC a bit before deciding for sure at least

So do male qunari then have one more option than female qunari or do female qunari have their own unique hairstyle that the males don't? Or just let me know if either of those videos go pass the CC since I'm trying to be very cautious about watching any DA stuff because of trying to avoid spoilers^^; If they stay to CC I'll give it a peek.
