I wonder are these the clipping issues why Bioware wants to keep hair in their games short XD: http://cadash.co.vu/...een-going-great

And now on the topic, I think that female qunari get screwed over. Badly. Male qunari seems to be designed lot better, presets are more attractive, hair looks better on the head and there is no odd bald spaces.. there is even extra hairstyle wtf. I think they designed male qunaris first and run out of time or resources during female qunari CC and just throwed something there. Ugh.

At the moment I will play my male qunari first and although hair could be better I will be quite happy on the look itself I think. However the female qunaris just look off-putting.

So do male qunari then have one more option than female qunari or do female qunari have their own unique hairstyle that the males don't? Or just let me know if either of those videos go pass the CC since I'm trying to be very cautious about watching any DA stuff because of trying to avoid spoilers^^; If they stay to CC I'll give it a peek.

It looks like there might be a bald female style with little tiny nub horns that I didn't see on the male one.  But I didn't look closely and I can't right this second.  Maybe someone else can have a look.

The video is spoiler safe up until about 8:30 on the female video and about 10:10 on the male one.  It then shows the opening sequence so you don't want to watch that if you are remaining spoiler free.

Just a clarifying point. I watched it with sound off. Not sure if there is a spoiler in the audio. Sorry about that.

Quite alright I plan to mute the volume anyway just in case.

I just find it odd that the DA:I character creator Card for Qunari Race depicts both male and female with long white hair, yet that apparently isn't even an option for a Qunari Inquisitor in DA:I.  Gamebreaking?  No.  Disappointing?  Yes.  I hope additional, longer Qunari hairstyle options are added at some point.

How... how could they give the male Qunari more hair than the female? I don't even understand that logic!

So after watching that video I'll be passing on making a female qunari. I'm still making the male qunari for sure but I'm not making a female one anymore I'll just think up another character to fill my Sera run.

I've got bad news for Ryz and any others who wanted to use the short, swept-back middle part hair with female qunari.  It looks like it's not included for them.

-Snip

But it is included for the males

Oh, now that is perfect. That makes my week. So now male qunari characters simply get more hair styles on top of the fact that they already have access to about a dozen more CC options than female characters in the form of beards? Totally fair. Though I guess that puts them on par with all the other races.

So now not only are the styles skewed towards males in terms of their general aesthetics*, they're also skewed numerically. You know, it's becoming increasingly difficult not to see the female inquisitor as a design afterthought.

*The vast majority of men tend to wear their hair short, with simpler cuts, whereas most women do not. The qunari styles are short, and simple, and, on average, resemble traditional male cuts more than they do traditional female cuts.

Female qunari don't get the swept back?

There's five goddamn styles for the qunari and they give one of the genders an extra one but not the other?

Are you ****** kidding me?

Sorry gurl. I figured it would be better to let you know now so that you don't get disappointed mid character generation.

My condolences.

To be fair you can't make Elves skin green either.

Also agreed it's weird and sucks that only dude Qunari get that swept back style.

Why the hell did they give the males the extra style?

Meanwhile female qunari are stuck with a bunch of styles that either look like they were made for dudes or are just plain laughably bad (mudbun).

*sigh* I was so looking forward to that swept back style. Screw this. Human it is.

It is weird if anything you'd think dude Qunari would get the nubby horns and female Qunari would get the extra hair style.

Exactly. I just...and there's not even one long feminine style. Not. Even. One.

At least the other races have at least one distinctly feminine style.

I'm just baffled the devs couldn't give lady qunari one feminine style. If the horns were such an issue they could've had it locked to hornless.

But we don't even get that much.

*sigh*

Agreed.(though I'm going Elf) I was really looking forward to playing a female Qunari but hell no to these options. I wanted her to be fierce and proud and awesome, not schoolmarm, or manly (which both look like toupees anyway). It's a shame and I'm getting an xbox one to play it on so there's no possibility of mods for me either. Goodbye lady Qunari.

Mine was supposed to be a flirty sassy snarky lady who had a fondness for feminine things (she'd squeeded at a ball dress though outwardly she'd been all "nooo I don't wanna wear!" (But the second they were gone she'd hold it close and never let go :P ) Her hair was her being vain. Far too long but usually braided for jobs. :( Again swept back would've worked for me headcanoning her cutting it during Haven but the rest of them are just...no. Nope. Not even headcanon will save the rest of the styles.

It's a shame because the femqunari run rig doesn't look as sigh inducing as it does on elf and human. But I can't put up with that hair =/ there's not even anyway to hide it either.

Think of it this way: what if instead of having crappy hair, every piece of armor for male or female Qunari turned into a pink fluffy dress when equipped on them? Would you see it as not a big deal and tolerate it?

Does it surprise you that most women (and many men) take at least some pride in their hair? It's a form of self expression and characterization and the first thing you notice about a person.(not to mention Qunari can't equip a helmet or hood to hide it which I would have found acceptable) Having the character that I've been excited about playing for more than a year be restricted to looking like 1) a schoolmarm 2) Mr. Clean 3) Discount James Vega or 4)Someone who glued logs onto their head as cornrows. That definitely ruins it for me. I can play a male Qunari eventually since bald looks ok-ish on men but that's not the character I wanted to play and even then I would have chosen to have him look like a regular Qunari like all the rest we've seen (long white hair).

Kinda like how mages had to wear dresses/bathrobes for most of Origins and DA2 till dlc came along for the later?Depends if I wanted to play the race bad enough I probably would if not I'd pick another race and probably request more options for that race in the future just like I've requested more types of daggers and more types of Rogue/Mage armor in the past.

And there's three other races for those people to play if hair is so important to them and they can always politely request more options for Qunari*which most of you are doing in fairness* but they might have to accept technical limitations being an issue.

Well that's the breaks rarely ever do we get to play the exact character we want.* is still waiting for Morrigan/Velana/Athenril's hairstyle for female pcs*.

No.

I don't see why not but okay.

Atleast this topic all in all seems rather tame compared to some of the other things people have complained about.

True I still remember the topics raving about how you can't burn Orlais and the Chantry to the ground or the Elven Inquisitor being Dalish only.

Good times good times.

I actually wanted to be a dalish mage. The burning down parts I would like but I have reasonable expectations so it doesn't bother me that you can't
