I don't see why not but okay.

Atleast this topic all in all seems rather tame compared to some of the other things people have complained about.

There was leeway in the robes and you could become an arcane warrior. There is nowhere to hide from frumpy play dough hair that was made for men and schoolmarms. We can't wear a helmet or a hood. Unlike with robes, we can't change the hair. With robes you could travel around outside combat wearing normal looking clothes (something I almost always do in Bethesda games). Robes had as much choice/variety and attention to detail as any of the other armor classes. Qunari hair doesn't. Qunari hair can't be swapped or hidden at all.

As a mage in DAO I wore Tevinter Robes until I could afford Reaper's Vestments

So the male qunari really do get one more option? Brilliant. This was the ONE hair option I could have seen myself using for my qunari lady. Well... ugly - as - heck mohawk and headcanoning it is then... or playing my male dalish elf first.

sooo....not only female Qunari to have some hair have to chop from their list many of the great horn styles, since they came with baldness, and a bald female is not everyone cup of tea (at least for me: I love short hairstyles, but I don't like totally shaved head on a female. Too many time I had to see a shaved/bald head on a woman and associate it to cancer and chemotherapy, sorry, but are sad memories I prefer to not reignite while playng a videogame)

but on top of that, they are excluse even from one of the already almost inexixtent hairstyles?!?!

That's bad, BioWare.

And I still don't get why we can't have different slyders for horns and hair.

I actually like short hair on women normally. But, short *feminine* hairstyles, not shortness for the sake of shortness.

Clipping issues and time restraints are the most likely reasons.

Am I alone or would most of you prefer occasional clipping to permanent mandatory crappy hair ?

I don't mind clipping that much as bad hair. Modded hairs clip quite often but still people still prefer them over non-modded hair in general. But I think game would get bad reviews from professional people if there was hair clipping and it seems be impossible for game companies to do clips, matter of pride I guess ^^; Many fans wouldn't care that much which is why hair mods exists.

Won't the reviews point out crappy hair ? "The hairstyles are great but sometimes they clip" sounds more positive than "the hairstyles are garbage, but at least they don't clip"

Imo it's getting pretty obvious that they probably ran out of time...

I mean, all the hair is plentifull and the same across genders for all races except qunari, who only have five, one of which is male only and has no horned options when it looks made for horns.

They were probably gonna fix it up for the lady qunaris too, and adding it to some of those bald horned options that there are way too many of.

And I bet they had a bunch more hair planned, but they didn't get around to finishing it in time.

You know, on almost any other game these options would have been fine. There are a good few, and the horns look absolutely cool.

The problem is that Inquisition sets such an incredibly high standard when it comes to character creation. You can have a broken nose, which I've never really seen in a CC before. You can independently set the colors of the inner and outer part of the iris! In any color of the rainbow! But you can't choose Qunari hair and horns separately. It just doesn't measure up to the standard the rest of the game is setting.

The same goes for the Skyhold casuals, really. I would never complain that Link, for example, always wears the same green pixie outfit, because that's what's expected. But in this game you can create armor and weapons in a gazillion combinations of colors and materials. You can change the look of your castle to suit your tastes. But you can't choose what you wear inside the castle. Again it's such a sudden limitation compared to the rest of the game.

Not buyng the clipping thing. The hairstyles all use the same space in the head, and the horns have the same base, the difference between hornstyles is the highter part, the part "in contact" with the hair is the same for every horn but for the hornless Qunari. Once created the hair model for one horn, you can reuse it on another one, with very no difference. And I hightly doubt there will be such clipping hissue with such short and flat hairstyles.

I must admit. For the first time, I miss the buzzcut. If there was at least a buzzcut instead of the baldness....it would not be cute, but at least I would have the sensation my Qunari is not sick or hailess.

some of the hairs already clip.

Minor clipping isn't something to throw a fit over.

Agreed on both parts:

1.)  Clipping really can't be the concern because there's clipping in the other races.  So if it is the reason, it's inconsistently applied logic.

and

2.)  Yes to the buzz cut.  It's never my preferred option, but it is certainly way better than cornrows and squeeky, shiny bald head.  Plus, it seems incredibly easy to implement.  Why not offer it as a low-rent version of "another choice"?  Just seems an odd decision to make.

Really? I find hairlessness to be much less annoying than buzzcuts; why do you favor them? Especially over cornrows?

I can't stand a shiny bald head.  I find it incredibly unattractive on almost anyone.  I like hair.  I'm also against shiny hairless chests on male characters too.

Cornrows are just a personal preference of mine.  I'm not a fan.  I would probably pick cornrows if it was the only option besides shiny bald.  Otherwise, cornrows come last for me.  Unless they are long (as in, past the shoulders).  I kind of love long cornrows on a female character.  But the short ones?  Meh.

Honestly, and I swear I'm not exaggerating, if you were to have asked me three months ago "What are your three least favorite hairstyles?" I would have said:  shiny bald heads, cornrows, and unrealistic looking ponytails (like the oddly curled "Cauthrien" style pony in DA: O).  And, fast forward a few months, and over half of the female qunari styles include those.

If I had to have short hair on a woman, I would choose a pixie haircut like this:

Adjust that for horns and I'm good.

Oh, I like hair too. But buzzcuts feel like an abomination against the concept of hair.

Exactly my opinion. The missing options for hair and casual apparel feel even more jarring because in almost all other areas you have such a great amount of customization. Besides, judging from the number of mods that are available for several different games, I'd say hair and outfits are two areas that are important to people, and where they like to have options.

You're definitely not alone. As long as the hair isn't just one frozen block sticking right through the characters back, I really couldn't care less about the hair clipping a little along the collar of the armors.
Besides, the beards are clipping through clothing. The existing hairstyles clip through the face. So what? It's not the end of the world. Hair is difficult to render and to animate, I bet we are still a looooooooooooong way until hair-clipping will be resolved.
