I agree with that. If it had to be short, there's still a ton of hairstyles that would work better. Even a basic boys-cut would do.

Cassandra?

And I love this cut, I would gladly use this for my female Qunari.

...Huh. It does look like her. Sorta. The picture looks like Cassandra probably looked like when she was 10 years younger or so (she's 35 in DAI).

Not to mention, you ever tried keeping nice hair while wearing a helmet for hours? I haven't... But I imagine it's pretty much impossible. Long hair is hard enough up-keeping, adding helmets into the mix makes it even harder than that. Your nice long hair is going to come out of the helmet looking like a greasy, matted mess.

Someone has never heard of bobbypins and brushes.

Mike and Lee already said in a stream, they're aware of the people mouning about the hair choices. They couldn't drop everything, and fix it because ithe game would been held back, again, just for ****ing hair extensions. Which would of pissed me off more than the current hair. It's being looked into, copied, pasted, in the note book. Now can we, pleeease, stop complaining about the hair?

The only reason we saw long hair Qunari in DA2, was because they were all a copy of another. Lastly, I mentioned a few pages back, you're a Tal-Vashoth mercenary. Not Princess Peach, in a flowing pink dress, and long golden hair. You're a bad ass merc, who thirsts for blood, and drink it from your victim's skull with a tiny umbrella. You don't need flowing locks. BUT. That's just me.

This thread has kept to itself, so can we pleeeease stop complaining about one measly thread that doesn't affect you at all?

Nothing screams "badass warrior" to me like a schoolmistress bun, tootsie rolls for hair, the kind of tiny malformed Mohawk you make with a toddler's hair in the bath or Mr. Clean polished head  besides, not everyone wants to play a grunting hulk with no hygiene. Some of us want to play diplomats, scoundrels, or even *gasp!* warriors with a sense of style!

You do know TV barbarian like women, be it Xena, Wonder Woman and the Amazonian, all had long hair and everything. Was because of sex appeal, no? Some men... Or women, don't want to see a shaved headed/short haired woman. They wanted long beautiful hair, and elephant head size breasts. That's the reason Etain looks this way, nothing more. If you see real mercs, it's shaved heads or small half inch Mohawks. IF you want real world reasoning, short or shaved heads keep you from catching it on tree branches, fencing, or the main one... Not to be grabbed and have your throat slit.

You know that hair grows on its' own right? That it's impractical to expect the kind of brute you want to play to go to the salon every two weeks to keep his hair short or to shave it bald each day right? Why is it that male characters can have long hair and beards and be warriors and no one bats an eye, but as soon as a woman wants to not have a freaking shaved head or super short and ugly blobs as  hair she's accused of being a prissy princess? I'd bet my life that you don't sit there watching Lord of the Rings and flip out at what a flailing princess in a flowing dress Aragorn is, or Ned Stark in Game of Thrones or nearly every character both male and female in every medieval show.

Tbh if one is gonna complain about female Quizzys being too feminine for a warrior there's bigger things to rant about than what kind of hair some people wish they had.

Good thing Qunari can't wear helmets then huh?

Also wearing a helmet wouldn't make your hair matted. I'm guessing you've never had long hair.

Qunari don't wear helmets!

That reasoning would be for all the other races, if they had short, poorly thought out and implemented hair. Which they don't. At least not to the same degree as the Qunari.

Role-playing. They don't for gameplay reasons, but it still makes sense for a merc to keep a hairstyle that won't get in the way. And actually a helmet does do that if worn for hours. You know, like I specified. You think a soldier helmet will leave your hair looking great after wearing it for 12 hours? You delusional?

I know Im super late to the discussion but I just saw the 4 hair options and I am sooo incredibly disappointed. I was really excited to play a female Qunari, but that hair is so ugly I doubt I will be able to stand looking at it for 80+ hours. I will shelve my Tal-Vishoth Inquisitor until hopefully someone cracks Frostbite and makes a hair mod, or they release a DLC. Man, what a shame.

This is like the female Worgen all over again.

Also, I am laughing at the guys trying to argue relaistic hair for mercanaries and helmet-hair in a game where dragons fly above us and portals open up to spew deamons while our mage friend shoots fireballs.

You have 2 choices at times like this. Get mad and upset and let the game get dragged down because you can't get past the disappointing thing you don't like, or try to temper your disappointment with justifications to make yourself accept it better so the game stays enjoyable/looked forward to. I chose the latter.

For those who play with older gen consoles (like me..) or PC with mininum to medium graphic settings the hair will look even worse than in pictures posted on OP and here. XBOX360 and PC with mininum settings have shiny bug in hair and beards and lips that transfers armors shine to those as well. Outcome looks like this:

ScreenShot350_zps3377e47e.jpg

And that's human hair that is supposed to be better looking than qunari hair. I just wonder how qunari hair will look in low graphic PC's and older gen consoles..

Seriously this hair thing is getting ridiculous. BW should poured half more resources to hair obviously and cut anything else out, be it from story or combat IDCAF.

-Um no Qunari has been shown wearing a helmet in the entire series except Sten (which was OMG a gameplay aspect rather than a story one!) Even the Sarebaas only had a mask. So whatever you're deciding to roleplay doesn't conform with the rest of the game. I on the other hand want my characters to fit in with the world and the lore. I want to look like all the Qunari that have been in all the games, DLCs, comics, concept art, etc...

-It makes sense for a mercenary to have their hair however they want. There's no regulation restricting them and this is a quasi medieval society we're talking about, not modern shooter with buzzcuts galore so that means long hair pulled back either halfway (like Geralt, what a prissy princess that guy!) or all the way into a braid or ponytail.

-Yeah you've clearly never had long hair. Hair gets sweaty from being confined for a long time but let me just tell you (and this may come as a shock) short hair gets sweaty too! Hair gets matted and tangled from movement and getting stuff caught in it. Not from being pinned up and immobilized inside a helmet (which Qunari still don't get)

We get it, you want your Qunari to look like a modern, shaved head guy. However your logic is deeply flawed. You can have your guy look like he's straight out of CoD but with horns, that's fine and no one will stop you, however most of the people in this thread don't want that.

@andy Why do you insist on coming back here all the time and arguing about this? We wish for more hairoptions and just want to keep the thread going so Bioware sees people still want this. We are not just gonna drop everything because somebody comes in here and tells us how ridiculous our wish is and tries to explain why. You don't see it as an issue, good for you. We do. We have been polite about it, we have been sticking to this thread, we haven't bombarded the devs with demands or death-threats.
So why come here and start needless arguments. We are not gonna budge from our position. And really, is our critique/wish really that outrageous that you have to convince us of its foolishness? We are not demanding another set of voices for the Inquisitor, or extra castles for each of our companions. We don't demand to see this or that character (which would be tied together with modeling, voice acting, scripting of events and cinematic sequences.)

All we want is a few more hairoptions for qunari, that are rendered on the same level as the rest of the hair. As patch, or even as paid DLC. That's it.

No I don't want my Qunari to look like that! You haven't been reading a single goddamn thing I've posted, have you? But I'm forced to, so I'm stuck coming to terms with it and role-playing around it instead of gnashing my teeth and complaining when it's obvious Bioware doesn't give a f***. You chose to whine, I chose to try to deal with it.

I want that too. A lot. But it won't happen. So I have to try to deal with it in my own way, a way that everyone else in here is defiantly fighting tooth and nail because it's like they (you) want to complain. Your complaints are falling on deaf ears, so why bother? All you can deal is either move onto another race, or try to deal with it as best you can to convince yourself to still try out Qunari women.

Because they aren't falling on deaf ears? Bioware devs have already said that they heard that people are unhappy with the hairoptions, but they can't do anything before release, and that they will look into the issue. So we just keep the discussion going to let them know that hey, people still care.

Hey guys,

We've heard you, and It's awesome that you're so passionate about your future Inquisitors. We'll be shipping with the horn and hair options we have now. We may look into this post release but no guarantees.

Cam

Here you go. Right from this very thread. I know it isn't much. But we know the devs acknowledge that people are unhappy about it, they know about the issue. And maybe if there's time and money (and enough interest from the community), they can adress it.
And besides, this is A LOT more than most other threads in the feedback - section get.

If nobody says anything about how they feel on this issue, then nothing will come from this issue. Devs will dismiss the calls because, they go on the forums, see nobody talking about it, and brush it off as something they don't need to work on next time. The reason players have more race options in DAI is because people voiced their desire to have multiple races in the game. The reason people have Knight Enchanter is because people wouldn't stop talking about melee mage/arcane warrior. The reason we got no blood magic in this game is because bioware saw the threads talking about it and knew the problems including it had brought up.

It's the reason stuff like shorter handles for two-handed swords or body tattoos aren't incoporated design decisions in this title, and will probably not be in future titles. Because nobody said anything about them, and so nothing ever came about, even though people care about it.

And sorry to burst anyones bubbles, but the general public hasn't gotten to play DAI yet, many have even avoided watching most lets plays to avoid getting spoiled on stuff. So when the game officially hits and everyone gets to play it, comes to the character creator for the qunari, and sees the hairstyles and hornstyles they have to pick from, this topics going to get new people coming in talking about it.

People like me in fact. And when they see someone raging and foaming at the mouth over people bringing up a legitimate issue they have with the fugly choices avaliable, they're gonna just want to talk about it all that much more.

I doubt we'll see a patch or dlc for the character creator, but at least we can let bioware know for the next game that we'd like a variety of hairstyles for our characters. They did a phenomenal job with the CC so far, but unfortunate to say, it seems they did better in the past with Star Wars the Old Republics character creator, which I hope they begin to strive for. I mean, they already took a hint to include scar options again, so they're already learning. Maybe next time we can have physique options as well make a comeback from SWTOR.
