Wonderful. It makes me weep for what might have been!
Please rethink qunari hairs.. or lack of them!

I have to say that the options were lacking, especially considering the arts we saw before :/
I'm still playing a Qunari mage, because I see a lot of potential in the resulting social confrontation, but I've been very disappointed in what I could to to customize the character, especially considering the arts, and even the race car shown before the character creation.
I do get that it is absolutely not a priority, but I'd really like more options, and a way to customize your inquisitor appearance in game.
Hell, I'd give money for that ![]()

Lame. This game definitely wasn't ready to ship. Last game I buy from bioware/ea.

It is sad. Because the Arishok does look so much better than any of the Qunari I've seen in DAI.

Yeah, they nerfed his long hair from the concept art, but he still looked visually appealing and badass. One of the other issues I've noticed with the Qunari in DAI is a lot of them have heads that are way too shrunk for their bodies like Iron Bull has. Arishok's head is much more proportionally accurate.
Come on Bioware, release a Qunari visual DLC upgrade. You don't see many good examples of Qunari characters being made in the CC compared to all the other races.

The sad thing is, I think they went with the current horn designs, specifically to allow the Qunari to have a number of hair options, without them clipping into the horns constantly. That's why we don't have any wild variations or even the more pronounced foreheads from Dragon Age 2. And yet with the horns specifically crafted for that purpose, we didn't get any hair options worth having.

Funny thing about them focusing on the Horn variations. The Horns themselves do not look that great to be honest. They look almost like fake plastic or putty, and it doesn't help that they made the Qunari faces more human than DA2.
And as for the whole "clipping" issue that makes me laugh kinda, because there is already SO much clipping in the game with the current hair, armor or helmets and such. I for one wouldn't have minded long hair clipping given all that.

I agree with all of this! (If my portrait doesn't give it away) While I dont expect the same level of arishok, something better to make QUnari look less like weird humans with big bodies would be great, their heads look so small on it

Haven't had the time to read all of the 147 pages of the thread, but has any dev or BW employee commented on this ?
Again, I get that it is definitely not a priority, but at this point, no comments from any dev is definitely not good news.
Granted, I'll be glad that they fix the engine, which is melting my GPUs right now, but this detail is kinda making me hesitant about playing the character I planned to. :/

We have not heard from the devs since Cam responded to us vaguely about a month ago, sadly.

I tried again yesterday.
I'm able to make a female Qunari mage, which is how I wanna play the game, basically going against every social stigma Ferelden has, but I still can't make a character I like.
Something is definitely missing, and I really hope they'll be able to do something for that.
I'd be happy with only 2 more options: medium and long straight hairs.
That'd do it for me.
Hell, I've stuck to the Qunari lore, my character has white hairs.
Shoulder lenghts straight white hair should have been an option.

After playing as Vivienne and Iron Bull in combat, I surprised myself by deciding to make a qunari warrior. I've never liked playing as a warrior before!
So Acantha is going to be demure and soft-spoken while carrying around a giant battle axe.

The game is so buggy that we have little hope of the hair being fixed now
(they're going to want to work on all the bugs instead)

Yeah, I've given up all hope for more qunari hair options.
The irony is, right now I'm actually more upset with the lack of qunari armor... So much of the armor is race restricted to humans and elves, it's pissing me off. There isnt a single piece of qunari-only armor in the whole freaking game (****** vitaar doesnt count)
I mean, WHAT THE HECK? Bioware was given an extra year in part to add qunari as a playable race and they totally failed. Not nearly enough armor options (why can't I have sexy armor like Iron Bull???) and pathetic hair choices.
I'm beyond disappointed.

this is kinda disappointing. I get the feeling that, event with the added year of development, you still have to play human to experience the whole game.

Yup. I saw that male elves have a horrible glitch that make them look as if their arms are warped and stuck to their rib cage... Shameful.

Yeah I wanted to play a bishie elf but that...just no. It looks like he's in a horror movie or something.

Pity...... Since the game was announced, after my first run, I planed on playing a Qunari warrior ( Always play human or Elf first ) but now going through all the options and sliders, i'm really disappointed
The horns ( my favorite things about them ) are lame. The hair options are really dry. and skin tones look all the same really, except if you go really dark.Say what you want of DA2, but the Qunaris looked BADASS in the game. Wanted to make my Qunari look like a young Arishok. hope this changes in a patch/DLC, but I wouldn't hold my breath. looks like I'm rolling an Elf.

I think they have some more pressing concerns right now Caboods ![]()
Once they get a first patch out, and calm the complaining down, there should be a response to the more aesthetics-based complaints. At least, I hope so, cos right now Qunari have the worst hair, and the least armors in the entire game.

It really feels like the Qunari were just added in last minute because people wanted them.
When comparing the facial features, horns (design and number of horns), and the characters overall proportions, the Dragon Age 2 Qunari seem to be completely different from the Dragon Age Inquisition Qunari. The Inquisition Qunari look like the developers took the human and just made them bigger, then messed around with some features to make them look different and changed the head mesh to accommodate the horns. My guess would be that after altering the structure and mesh for the head all the previously designed hairs wouldn't fit so they hastily designed some super basic hairs and hoped that would be good enough. It would explain why the Qunari look like big humans with horns rather then the Qunari we all know and love.
I mean something as simple as the fact that it seems most Qunari have more then one set of horns and yet we are only allowed the one makes it really seem like they put no thought or effort into truly giving us a real Qunari character.

Not to mention the DA2 Horns look very different in looks, size, and shape in comparison to what we got in Inquisition. (I don't mean the graphics but the actual structure and texture of the horns.)
The hair choices are just part of the overall issue for me. I wanted to play as a DA2 Qunari, not a tall horned human with a head that is always to small for their own body. What happened to our Huge broad heavily muscled horned giants that looked closer to demons then to the normal residents of Thedas.
If we could at least get the masks or helmets used by the DA2 Qunari to cover this mess I could be a little happy but all we got were face paints. I am so bummed.

My girl and I support this. We would like to see more hair options for the Qunari. A way to fix this would be to offer hair as a separate item from the horn options. This would go a long way to fixing the overall hair issue.
The faces of the female qunari are not as good as the concept art. In fact my girlfriend is quite disappointed in that respect. She did the best she could with the facial editor but it can only do so much.

DA2 was a bit of a disaster for me but yeah the way Qunari were and looked was the highpoint, they were amazing and the only reason why I'd want to replay it. I hope they get some options to look more like that into DAI. Just in bodyshape and everything instead of the somewhat deformed humans they look like now
